The music thread

so I know this is most likely not going to go very well in a website like this I just said fuck and I'm doing it anyway.
this is a discussion where you just talk about music. all genres are allowed, (dubstep, pop, rock, metal etc.).

  • So this is a new song by Avenged Sevenfold

To me, this doesn't sound like them at all.
Don't get me wrong It isn't a bad song, it just doesn't sound like them.

  • Can i complain about teenagers liking shitty music because it evokes feelings, not emotions? Like, really, listen to this:

    and then to this:

    what the fuck happened

like, I know, I just explained, songs like these evoke superficial feelings which is okay. I mean if I want light and superficial feelings I would watch a funny yourtuber instead of listening to this but it's valid if you like it. The thing is that a lot of people directly despise other songs that evoke deep and heartbreaking emotions that send you to tears and feeling the infinite beauty of the universe. Or make you want to kill yourself like someone else ejem. Their reason is that these songs are "slow" and "boring" and it makes me think of these things old people say about millenials, that they can't stand boredom, or stillness, that they (we) need to be always busy with something like a game in the phone. And boredom is a good thing. A nessesary evil, it makes you think. If you don't think, you live in the most superficial aspect of existence. Teenagers seem to need always a-- how to explain, it's like a drug that you get injected with and delivers you strong but superficial feelings already manufactured ad packed that hit fast and hard in your brain, and while it's not bad since it's not truly a drug, I can't understad how someone can live only like this. Only with this harmless drug instead of emotios that builds in the bottom of your stomach and pulls gently at your heartstrings and makes your eyes watery and it's so different for every person...

or maybe they get there deep feelings somewhere else. Maybe it's because music and art are one of the most important things in my life that have saved my life from myself many times now and it's my second major source of emotion. Maybe I see art as something way too central in my life and I have the impression that it's that way for everyone else, and that what music they listen to represents what they feel and think, when maybe it's just the sounds that they find appealing.

    somebody help

  • This song is Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy, but it was on the radio today and I realized how much I enjoy it, so here:

  • Okay this is going to be a weird analogy of this, but here goes nothing.

I consider it like if you go from constantly consuming junk food, to fasting with good foods. When you decide to give in to what everyone else is doing and take the tremendous amounts of content that is made for instant effects. It gives you a momentary bliss, but then it leaves you with nothing, so you have to keep consuming more and more to get the same high and eventually you have too much and get sick. But when you decide to step back from it and take your time to process it all. It can make you truly appreciate it for what it is. And when every single note has come and pass, you are allowed time after to cherish the moment long after it's gone. You may not feel it at the beginning, and may even Abhor it when it first reaches your senses, but when you give it time, you will see it's true quality.

And I'm not saying that you need to get rid of the more popular food. Sharing a balance with both can help open your mind farther than just one type alone and can keep you healthy in both mind and body. And plus, there is always a type that is better for a certain moment. Each can have their ups and downs, with one making you haphazardly energetic and ready for anything while the other leaves you calm and collected. And combining the two will give interesting results. Like putting logs on a small burning flame and then pouring gasoline on it. At least through my experience. :)

I'm just going to leave it at that before I trail off.

btw That first song is AWESOME!

I never really have understood this style of music.

Lots of unnecessary cussing and I don't understand WTC the lyrics are talking about.
