Peter can teach Gamora how to play basketball using Groot as the hoop in the Shambala montage if Nebula isn't there (I assume that's how it happens).
Also, they throw the basketball at Rocket and it's pretty funny.
Another Rocket thing, in the Bar Bo'lakks, indicate to the group that you want to empower the Forge. Then when Rocket asks about it, say you've changed your mind. Then he gets all upset and you can punch him in the shoulder and he'll apologize.
So, after looking through the new emails some of them are really hilarious.
The one from Howard the Duck gave me a chuckle. I like to think of it as: "Silence is a valid option, you know."
I love Yondu's email about hosting a BBQ. He just really wants to see "Gimonda".
Another good one from him: commenting about the mess they made after going into his hideout. I like how Peter adds; "It's called SPELL CHECK! Look into it!" after the message.
One cool thing are the messages from Vylly, They've got some continuity in them. After shipping Thanos' body to the Collector, she mentions he'll display it in his new VIP Lounge. Later, once you apprehend Nebula, she mentions that the VIP Lounge has been trashed after your battle with her. Cool!
I also like Vylly's message about Nebula's capture and Peter's response to it.
For any big Marvel know-it-alls out there: this passage from Groot's chain mail is interesting: [SPOILERS FOR GOTG VOL.2 -- Movie]
Are these "cosmic eggs" essentially the same plants we see Ego plant in each of the planets? It "destroyed all life" from those planets in the movie, so it's similar enough. Anyone? Just a cool thing Telltale may have added, given their ability to use a lot of Marvel "ingredients" to make this game, as the Marvel Games team put it.
if you went after Nebula after helping Rocket, Star-Lords number 1 fan from the Nova Corp well send him a heart-wrenching goodbye email, and Pete responds to it all sad and sorry, but the next reply is "The message to this user is unable to be sent".

This is something I got after I brought Drax to the temple and used the time scanner (where Drax then "saved" me from Hala) in Ep. 2 and brought Nebula along with me to the Shrine.
While using the time scanner to find the lens, if you use it near Nebula, the hologram of the lens will bounce off near her, startling her and Drax will laugh, telling her its a hologram. She replies, "I knew that."

I don't have any screenshots, but some old emails have new replies to them. For example, the one with Cosmo has some new replies, with him saying something that he "WILL CHEW" the jacket if no one claims it. Other ones too. They're amusing.
I really hope we see Howard the Duck, Pip the Troll, and Cosmo the Russian Space Dog playing poker with Rocket and Star-Lord. It's too perfect to not too.
These aren't detail you would see directly in the game, but I think it's really neat.
So Episode 2's title is Under Pressure, right? Well, if you look at the lyrics of the song (which is excellent by the way, I highly recommend listening to it), there's a particular line that seems especially relevant to the game.
Pressure pushing down on me/Pressing down on you no man ask for/Under pressure that brings a building down/Splits a family in two
I find it the bolded line especially telling in Episode 3 with the split between Gamora and Groot, and Drax and Rocket. The pressure of the Eternity Forge is doing that to them. It's still visible in Episode 2 obviously, but I think looking at it in Episode 3 is more telling.
Now we go to Episode 3's title, More Than a Feeling, another amazing song and a favorite of mine. Anyway, this title is pretty obvious with Mantis and feelings. But like a Billy Mays commercial, there's more (than a feeling).
I looked out this morning and the sun was gone/Turned on some music to start my day/I lost myself in a familiar song/I closed my eyes and I slipped away/It's more than a feeling (more than a feeling)/When I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)/And I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
Nostalgia eh? Kind of like how Mantis points out that the songs on Peter's Walkman bring that sadness. I thought about it, and it sort of made sense so I'm sticking with it.
When I'm tired and thinking cold/I hide in my music, forget the day/And dream of a girl I used to know/I closed my eyes and she slipped away/She slipped away
Okay this one I had to comment on. Think you are Star-Lord, and the "I" is you, and your mother is "a girl I used to know". The songs bring that feeling of when she is around, but now she's gone. Kind of heartbreaking actually. Sort of the nostalgia Mantis was talking about.
I'm sure the other songs have some symbolism and deeper meaning if you look at the lyrics and think of the game and the context around it. "Livin' Thing" especially.
I found something interesting. Just after Mantis is caught by Peter listening to music there is conversation, and Mantis is saying that all crew members are sad, if you tell her that Forge can change that, she will reply:
"That doesn't necessarily mean you should."
Then:
"You must have realized this by now but... if you bring someone back, it can never be as it was."
I am wonder if this is allusion to just bringing your past isn't as we think it would be OR ppl brought back got some drawback like they are not the same or kinda like zombies or other drawbacks. I know Halaa resurrected his son and he seemed pretty OK but he only said "mother" tho.
Also another interesting think which I have found is that when you are flying to temple there is Rocket arguing with Drax at some point. If you don't close mouth of Drax he will punch Rocket and he will go unconscious.
In the run I did also Nebula said different things when joined with Halaa after you told her to leave, but I don't know exactly which choices made that happen.
I really hope we see Howard the Duck, Pip the Troll, and Cosmo the Russian Space Dog playing poker with Rocket and Star-Lord. It's too perfect to not too.

Maybe once the Forge is empowered, then there is some drawback about it. Normal Forge is meh compared to the Ultra edition. That one can revive anyone, from any time period. The cost of death alone probably isn't enough at that point, as then you could just be killing random people to revive many important people anywhere, any time..
The normal Forge only had the power to revive someone who's body is mostly intact.
I am wonder if this is allusion to just bringing your past isn't as we think it would be OR ppl brought back got some drawback like they are… more not the same or kinda like zombies or other drawbacks. I know Halaa resurrected his son and he seemed pretty OK but he only said "mother" tho.

Clarence the Bully's full name is Clarence King. If you tell him "Shut Up, Clarence" he responds by saying that he's telling everyone to call him by his last name now: "King"
If you miss the QTE where Clarence lunges at Peter for his Walkman, he just ends up slightly pushing Peter with his hand. One may say it's just a light tap on the chest
When you [Use Your Words] against Clarence, he ends up insulting Meredith when she walks into the store. Then, if you attack him, Meredith grabs Peter and gets angry. However the game still classifies this as using your words at the final Choices card. Strange.
-- Sidenote: During the previous point, (Use Your Words --> Attack Him) Clarence doesn't mention that you broke his jaw when punching him, unlike when you [Use Your Fists] from the start.
If you don't shoot General Tar-Voll, he slams Gamora to the ground -- and it is implied that he caves her skull in with a swift stroke of his massive club. The camera angle prevents you from seeing this, luckily. Game over.
If you refuse to give Nebula the device, Gamora turns and starts to walk away, but then Nebula stabs her through the back of her abdomen, instead of the front (if you give her the device). Gamora proceeds to fall on her knees and fall off the platform... [This is even mentioned later in an argument with Nebula: "Yeah, I practically shoved that knife right into my own back." // "Yeah, I practically shoved that knife right into my own gut."]
[During Montage] If you don't shush Drax in his argument with Rocket, he knocks Rocket out.
[During Montage] When Mantis is dancing to the music, if you miss the QTE arrow, she accidentally hits Peter in the throat.
If you choose to destroy the Forge, the room lights up in a green glow.. If you choose to empower the Forge, there is no lighting change that occurs.
If you don't perform the simultaneous button-press as Drax when he's about to super-punch Hala from the air, she rolls out of his path and he bellyflops on the ground below. Ouch.
(sorry for all the edits, dojo. there's just so many things I keep forgetting here.)
Yes I was thinking more like that when writing. Empowered version of Forge might have different effect. But still I don't think so :P Just speculations.

That is incredible.
It really shows how this game has a big depth of choices, and that Telltale has been really looking at them.
And, -… more- if certain conditions are met -- you get special situations like that. And I find that really cool. That's the perfect kind of tailoring and choices mattering.
I'm sure it really felt like you caused that occurrence and had numerous options beforehand to change it, but did not.
Peter's "Time Scanner" isn't as far-fetched as it seems.
In the first film -- during the opening scene -- he uses it to find where the remnants of the temple is. Although, this device is shaped differently and beams the holograms in front of Peter rather than all around him.
It even marks key objects in red!

I'm looking it up now, and it seems to be something that was created originally for the movie. I can't find any mention of it from the comics.
It's cool how even small things like this are being pulled into the game for puzzle-solving purposes.
Wow, that's a pretty interesting touch for them to take - and nice catch with that detail too!
I figured it was an original creation Telltale had made, but it's really cool that they actually borrowed that from material from the movie. It makes me wonder if other material from the movies also could've somehow cameo'd in the game.

A bit of context for this hidden joke: [If you go after Gamora in the cave, you eventually fall into a patch of poisonous mushrooms. Peter and Gams get out pretty quick, but Groot sits in the middle of the patch. He grows flowers on his arm and seems to act drugged.]
If you interact with Groot, he'll look at his arm, look at you, and smile. Peter will leave in different ways. Saying "Later, Man" or pointing a finger gun and shooting as he walks away. The 5th time you interact with Groot, Peter will walk away, turn around quickly and try to surprise Groot. It takes 5-10 seconds for Groot to react in astonishment.
If you ask Drax if he threw away his knives, he says no... He then asks you for a new name for them. Something less familial. You then have the choice of "Mork and Mindy", "Bennie and the Jets", "Hall and Oates", and if you stay silent, he chooses the names "Left Blade and Right Blade".
If you fail the first QTE of the episode [run left to avoid falling pillar], Mantis and Peter get crushed flat. The episode then proceeds to restart from "The story is tailored by how you play..."
Don't give anything up from Star-Lord's room, and he will declare that he is giving up the empty box because "it means a lot" to him. Also, the Guardians will be massively disappointed.
Hah, that's actually pretty funny! I don't think that most players would realistically give up nothing (several of the items were deliberately tacky, such as the weight or the trophy), but that's a hilarious easter egg for however many players did genuinely want to hold onto everything.
Oh, speaking of that scene on a tangential note - does anyone know what happens if you otherwise give up everything but keep the tape deck?

It's quite hilarious.
Also, the Protectors of the Universe are a real group in Marvel: http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Protectors_of_the_Universe
I always do an evil playthrough, it was quite satisfying, especially when I forced Rocket and Groot to give up their things and then refuse to throw away any of my stuff.
To be honest, on my actual first run, I only gave up the weight. That was it. The Guardians were, quote "mildly disappointed".

Maybe it's a bit late for more about Episode 3, but I noticed two more details that might be worth mentioning and they were also both in Peter's flashback at the beginning of the episode:
If Peter attacks Clarence before Meredith returns and admits to her that he made a mistake: "I messed up again, Mom." (picking the option "I screwed up again."), then Meredith responds by addressing Peter by his full name including his middle name of Jason: "You did more than that, Peter Jason Quill." (This may be a sort of reference to his father in the comics J'son or Jason of Spartax since Peter presumably has his middle name from his father (I'm guessing here since I'm mostly unfamiliar with both the films and comics) but this may be irrelevant since Peter has the same middle name in the films.)
If Peter says to Meredith that he isn't worried about her headaches, it is revealed that the title of 'Star-Lord' is Peter's superhero name that he had since he was a child (at the time of that flashback at least): "I'm not worried! You're Super Mom. You'll be okay." (from the option "I'm not worried!), Meredith replies: "I guess that makes you Super Peter." , Peter 'corrects' her: "Mommm...Star-lord. That's my superhero name." (I am assuming this is the first mention of 'Star-Lord' before the 'present day' of the Guardians stories.)
Also, there seems to be some writing on a page of paper in a file on the counter in the shop but there isn't much opportunity in-game to get a good look at what it says. It's probably irrelevant flavour text relating to the shop somehow but it may be nice to know and it's got me curious at least.

That all sounds awesome!
And all this after a month's wait? Props to Telltale for that.
I guess this means two things have been going on:
1. Telltale was pretty ahead of schedule, so a lot of that 2-3 month wait time we always had was in fact used on Episode 5. Noice.
2. Telltale has done some serious pre-planning fr this series; It's story and choices seem like they were born from the start, and from the sounds of interviews and statements they've stayed on track the whole way through. That is truly awesome, and I am proud of them. It's something I've been asking for a lot -- for Telltale to really pre-plan a season, so we don't get so many dangling threads or sudden rewrites, that could potentially break the original vision. So far, it's all stayed on track quite well, and I am both excited and sad that we've reached the end.

Yep, that's exactly it. I felt like I'd hugely screwed up. Once again, very glad it's not my "canon" play through.
She also voiced Arcee, one of the main characters in Transformers Prime
I know her best as one of the four voices for the Inquisitor in Dragon Age Inquisition. Never thought I'd be flirting with my own Inquisitor so much.

A bit of context for this hidden joke: [If you go after Gamora in the cave, you eventually fall into a patch of poisonous mushrooms. Peter and Gams get out pretty quick, but Groot sits in the middle of the patch. He grows flowers on his arm and seems to act drugged.]
Don't give anything up from Star-Lord's room, and he will declare that he is giving up the empty box because "it means a lot" to him. Also, the Guardians will be massively disappointed.
It's quite hilarious.
Also, the Protectors of the Universe are a real group in Marvel: http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Protectors_of_the_Universe
I always do an evil playthrough, it was quite satisfying, especially when I forced Rocket and Groot to give up their things and then refuse to throw away any of my stuff.
To be honest, on my actual first run, I only gave up the weight. That was it. The Guardians were, quote "mildly disappointed".
So... does this mean that there's 4 possible reactions to this scene?
Give Away Nothing [Disappointed?] < Give Away a Few Things [Mildly Disappointed] < Give Away Most Things [Mildly Impressed] < Give Away Everything [Impressed?]

There is a new post about the Behind the Scenes details of writing for Drax in Episode 4 of Guardians
I gave away most of my things (Trophy, weights, alcohol and toy gun) while keeping the photo and mini rocket ship from Yondu and it said that the Guardians were mildly surprised.
Maybe it's a bit late for more about Episode 3, but I noticed two more details that might be worth mentioning and they were also both in Peter's flashback at the beginning of the episode:
Also, there seems to be some writing on a page of paper in a file on the counter in the shop but there isn't much opportunity in-game to get a good look at what it says. It's probably irrelevant flavour text relating to the shop somehow but it may be nice to know and it's got me curious at least.
It's never too late for more details. Especially with this section.
This Twitter thread has some neat behind-the-scenes details of the production for the Season
