Major predictions for episode 3 choices

  • Yeah, Bane vs Harley choice is pretty much a given at this point, but they'd need to flesh out Bane more and make him more sympathetic, because I imagine he didn't leave much of a good impression on most players. So far he just beat us into a pulp, threatened to kill us (twice) and then he wanted us to punish one of his men to impress him. So yeah, hopefully the next episode is more Bane (and Freeze as well, he was barely there) centered.

True, the story will ask us to make a choice between the two of them, again. Bane openly challenged her authority after all.

  • In regards to Bane, yeah that's a huge understatement. He is a total douche, and he is too dangerous to be left other than crippled.

I'm not sure we will deal with him in episode 3 though. I think Telltale will set the ultimate face off in episode 4.

  • Save Selina Kyle or Iman Avesta
    Another Waller or Gordon choice
    Help Bane or Freeze

  • I don't think Harley is at all sympathetic, either. I'd feel sad for Harley that her father chose to commit suicide, if she didn't react to that loss by becoming a psychotic, nihilistic criminal.

  • Curious what you are implying here. To answer your question, though, I am not. I don't find any of the characters (including the Riddler) sympathetic. I don't think I would find a male version of Harley any more sympathetic than I do her.

I don't know if you play GOT... but there was a character in that game (Morgryn) that I was a bit enamored of - looks and charm - but he ended up having some very awful character traits. Now I want nothing to do with him. Are you implying that men are more sympathetic or that they are more swayed by appearances?

  • I've been an Agency guy this whole time but dammit I'm choosing Gordon next time. He never would have left Bruce hanging like that.

  • Are we talking like an actual fight? Cause bane would probably beat the shit out of her

I think that Bane and Harley will ultimately get in a fight and we'll be able to choose who to help. If we choose nothing, a piano falls on Bruce so that he has to make a choice.

  • I just want BatCat moments.

  • It looks like there will be. I'm looking forward to finding out if Selina is there because she is friends with Harley or because the Agency is coercing her to work for them. Both have major implications for the BatCat relationship. Also, the Cat/HQ relationship...

I want a quiet moment to have a conversation with Tiffany so that I can tell her the whole truth and patch things up with her. I got that it wouldn't have fit with the narrative flow of the episode, but that was still one of those things I had wanted to happen in episode two that I didn't get.

For example... an appearance by Frank. Like, why not have Frank there if you're gonna have a scene at the Stacked Deck? He could just have been in the background... or been like a super minor interaction with him before you said hello to John. Bruce should definitely buy Frank at least one drink.

  • Unless Bane is dosed with the anti-venom? On a tangential note: does anyone think HQ could have come up with the concoction that killed the Riddler? She is a trained psychiatrist. In a comic book setting that means that she probably is more than qualified to invent whatever was in that dart...

In season one episode three Selina says "let me call someone" in relation to Harvey needing professional help.

It's clear her and Harley have history.

Which further complicates the matter. Will she side with us or her ?
If she wants to go down with her friend, that's fine by me.

  • I actually like the choice of Batman removing his cowl but Gordon stopping him.

  • I anticipate that this episode will reveal Waller as an antagonist. The episode 4 speaks of a "shocking revelation" that will completely disturb Bruce's plans. It sounds like his Pact membership will not be renewed.

  • Yup. S1E3 had a shocking revelation at the end, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if we had one here as well. There has to be a mid-season plot twist, after all.

Granted the description is voluntarily evasive, it could be a number of things.
It could even be that the Pact would actually be an asset against Waller and her agency, after Bruce discover the dirt Riddler had on them. Something so atrocious the relative truce between them would be shattered.
So Bruce would have to rely on the Pact, further blurring the lines between "good" and "evil".

Not sure where that would leave Iman Avesta. I hope Telltale won't pull a Vicki Vale again by having her turn into a villain.

Judging by the episode 4/5 icons we will also see John Doe becoming the Joker, but I'm not sure what his role in the story is going to be. Has he manipulated everyone from the beginning ? He seems extremely keen on having Bruce within the group, even if you don't treat him particularly well.

So I'm not sure. Can two massive antagonists (Joker/Waller) work together in a story like this one ?
Who assembled the Pact exactly ? Maybe there is someone, or something above them each member answers to. Maybe the League of Shadows, or Telltale's equivalent.

  • I am curious if leaving Bane behind(especially if he was dosed with the counter-serum), might not be worse for Bruce, in the long run, than letting leaving Harley behind.

I replayed episode 2 recently, and Waller seems to have a keen interest in Bane. It isn't just her perking up at his mention in the armory(if you call her), but she also specifies that he, specifically, that needs to be dealt with during the conversation on the roof of GCPD. I don't know, something about the way Waller focuses on him rather than Harley(or John) makes it seem almost personal.
