Kevin Bruner, Telltale and their connection with Lionsgate?

According to IGN here: http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/06/15/former-telltale-games-ceo-sues-studio
“Bruner's lawsuit alleges was the result of Lionsgate investing in Telltale in 2015 and pushing for a new CEO”. “The suit claims some Lionsgate board members wanted to bring in an "outside" CEO to replace Bruner”.
So does it mean Lionsgate not only has still a partnership with Telltale, but they also have a big voice on the company?
Maybe we could expect at some point a Hunger Games or a Saw game, but I am sure just guessing.

  • Guess Bruner needs another car....what an ass.

  • Was kinda wondering what was going on with this Lionsgate deal. Lionsgate gave them money for the super show but then the super show never happened lmao

  • Exactly. I wondered what happened to that deal.

It seems it's still active, though it's weird how Lionsgate wanted Telltale to get a "New CEO". Don't know what that was all about.
I'm interested to see where this goes if Telltale still has that connection -- if anything ever comes out of it..

  • The fair minded part of me wants to play devil's advocate and say this was Bruner's own personally founded company he was forcibly thrown out of. Obviously he would be pretty peeved by that and he has every right to be.

but this guy threw marketed lies at us (I believe he was the one who said ANF:TTB was too big, don't quote me on that though) and stagnated his own wonderfully creative talent for years

    I hope Telltale wins.

  • Makes me think that after Lionsgate invested in Telltale, they were made aware that Kevin Bruner really wasn't that great of a CEO so they wanted someone with more experience under their belt. Or something else probably. I really hope that Telltale manages to pull through this.

But if Telltale actually did breach their contract with Kevin then I don't know. That'd be really scummy, regardless of who they're being scummy to.

  • A Hunger games telltale game would be like a dream come true for me, so I hope so.

  • Well I think the deal made it so Lionsgate now owns a small bit of Telltale? So Lionsgate is pretty invested in Telltale, so watching Telltale getting worst and worst is probably what made Lionsgate want Bruner gone based on the choices he was making.
