100% Recommend Episode One (Spoiler Free)
I've seen plenty of leaks recently and just finished watching part one of someone's play through and honestly It's left me wanting more! The characters introductions are great and there's clearly lots of emphasis around AJ. I'm even interested for minor characters like this girl called "Ruby". Ugh it's just so good you should definitely try and go spoiler free until you play it yourself.

How long is the episode ?
Act 1 seems to be 1 hour long, probably 3 hours worth of gameplay, we will see.
Holy Shit! That is a long ass episode! I love longer episodes!
Who was your favourite new character? Mine was Louis (what a suprise), but I actually liked them all. Even Violet. This season is going to be good.
Louis was definitely my favorite. A lovable bozo. But all of them were great characters in the time we were given. I could tell they wanted to make all of these kids feel wholesome. Troubled, but wholesome.
Ah, man. Already hungry for more?
That confirms it folks, we're getting a cliffhanger.
One of the best episodes telltale had made
HYPE FEVER.
You won’t see it coming
Awesome!
Looking forward to playing it.
Episode one was amazing!!! Took me over two and a half hours, the unscripted actions and gameplay was soo good, so many small choices you'd think wouldn't do much had an effect and there are a lot of decisions that do. The actual gameplay felt so refreshing as well, I'm squeeling at how good it is, it felt better than season one for me in terms of first episodes.
I can confirm - better than Season One.
WHAT ABOUT KENNY'S HAT
Woah there....slow your roll...potentially better than season 1....until we get all the episodes we can hope....but better than ANF and possibly 2...yeah I will go on a limb and say that. So many things in it....I have a feeling that Clem's fate is up to us...but there are so many little choices that could blow up in our faces.
Great introductory episode. It didn't rush itself which was wonderful. The characters were great and each was distinct in personality. Marlon and Violet, I feel a lot of people will be very happy about. Their character descriptions don't do them justice. That I can say for sure.
Marlon, whom I thought I'd dislike the most, ended up being an almost exact opposite of the character I expected. And Violet I always knew would be a better character than perceived as well.
Great first episode indeed. And TWD's best episode since Season One.
Things have happened at that school, and they don't expect you to care like some think going into this episode. Everyone is hurting one way or another and the characters know this. It's not written to expect pity just because people died. It's used as a way to come together. All of that, plus a history was built there. It's not someplace that automatically finds danger as soon as Clem enters through the gates. She stumbles into a place that already had its problems unbeknownst to her.
I really like Marlon but aj has got to be my favorite the whole fish out of water aspect is great. I also want to find out what happened at the mccarol ranch
Thank you for this thread!! I needed info and a review WITHOUT spoilers! I’m so excited for this episode.
I'm really, really impressed with everything I've seen so far.
Louis is best boy.
I couldn’t help myself but watch the whole episode on YouTube and man, what an Epsiode!! I like how they have small callbacks to ANF without it leaving a big impact in the Epsiode (there’s at least 2-3 dialogue options regarding it). If only I was able to play it now, but I shall wait until midnight.
Btw, Louis is my favorite new character this season.
I’m going offline until 9 PM but I’m so excited to hear that it’s great.
...
Alright can we get back on topic now
That is an excellent idea.
I went ahead and cleaned up... basically all the posts related to that, by the way. No offense to anyone in particular, but that entire conversation is probably better off being nuked.
the poogs post stays because its poogs
Your right
Me opening This thread then:
Me Opening This thread now:
Ugh I wanted to see the conversation lol. Anyway It is so hard not to watch the rest of the video before I play it,I keep telling myself If I'm already 30% in I might as well watch the rest?
DELTINO is biased and cannot be trusted.
POOGS has him on his payroll, he's operating the system from the inside to maximise the amount of hearts on his profile.
Don't trust them... [REPORTED TO ALMIGHTY OVERLORD CAROLINE]
JK of course
I have to say, I've liked this episode more than I did with ANF as a whole.
This is definitely a step in the right direction.
Figures that sockless meme slinger has Deltino on his payroll...though ye the entire thing needed nuked from orbit...it's the only way to be sure.
Great first episode. The characters actually feel like people, which isn't easy when the cast are all kids, it's well written, there are some hard choices, the combat is more fun than it seems (you have to be strategic at times) and the relationship between Clem and AJ feels genuine and not forced, which was my biggest fear. This one episode made me care more about Clementine than the last two Seasons combined (especially ANF), which left me kind of apathetic towards her. Also, she's finally old enough so that her being treated like an adult and involved in decisions actually makes sense and doesn't feel weird and forced ("We're not so different you and I, 11 year old girl that I've never met before.").
So far, this game is what I've always wanted out of a S1 sequel. On par in terms of storytelling, but more technically advanced. Everything that ANF wasn't and that it should have been. The story people actually cared about.
Good shit buy it/10. Take it from a guy who gave up on the series and only reluctantly preordered out of a sense of obligation more than anything.
