Louis. - I love Louis. I didn't think I would when we first saw the character models, but he reminds me of Omid and I love(d) Omid too. The fact neither one takes themself too serious and projects some much needed light humor in the apocalyptic world is much needed. I liked his creativity with his chair leg weapon and piano playing. Guys creative! Tenn and Violet. - There kinda tied. Sometimes I like Tenn a little more other times it's Violet. The fact there both connected to Tenns sisters aswell makes it kinda fitting to have them tied. I think Tenn will make a great big brother figure for AJ and be able to help him learn with Clem. I do hope we learn more about Tenns burn and his sisters. Violet although cold and stand-offish at first, she has her shit together. I don't ship her with Clem but I do think she'll make a great BFF for her. Plus the girls gotta stick together.
Marlon - was always my least favourite of the 4 and he obviously didn't do himself any favours at the end. I wasn't expecting him to go full psycho but I guess someone had to. Brody - I wasn't particular fond of her but after finding out the reason for her overly nervy behaviour, it all made sense and fell in to place. I do think she had potential and was killed off too soon. Aasim seems a bit too serious so I'm not realing feeling him at the moment, However after seeing the diary I think there is more to him than meets the eye and I do think he will grow on me.
The others are too minor at the moment really for me to have an opinion either way.
Also I strongly suspect there's going to be a save Louis or Violet decision in the game as both are potential love intrests.
Honestly, I feel like the later parts of this episode would normally go in a 2nd of a 5 episode season.
Ah well, I guess it ultimately depends on what direction the rest goes in.

Um, he killed Marlon without reason. Yeah Marlon did some really unpardonable things, but AJ shooting him was so uncalled for. If I could hop in the game and whoop AJ's ass, I would.
Yeah Marlon is really cool. how he puts the bowl away whilst saying ''what's the game tonight Lou?''. I love how when Clem is choosing a question Louis whistles and Marlon moves his head according to the whistle. Shows they're good friends.
Well, it was Marlon up until the ending lol. Definitely wasn't expecting to like him as much as I did, but mullet or no, he won me over. Lou… moreis was about as annoying as I expected, Violet I'm still not sure about, and I really haven't see enough of the rest of them to make a call.

I actually don't think I have a favourite yet, except for AJ. We barely know most of them yet and Louis and Violet are a little too cliché for my personal taste.
I always disliked Marlon though, at least since I first saw what he looked like. While I guess he was supposed to be a badass, he kinda looks like a little wimp and I found him annoying throughout the whole first episode.
1: Aasim: Pragmatic, cool under pressure (for the most part), and a likeable dude overall. I look forward to seeing him in future episode(s) and would be interested to see if he steps up to take the leadership role, perhaps after a bit of coaxing on the players part.
2: Tenn: A real likeable kid, polite, insightful, got some mean drawing skills, and is pretty strong willed to be able to take the loss of his sisters in relative stride. I feel like he's going to have quite some focus directed towards him in the future, hopefully show AJ some more nuggets of the world before and however unlikely it may be get some closure concerning the fates of his sisters.
3: Abel: Well he ain't no Nate and while that's certainly disappointing (fingers still crossed for him showing up though) I find the fact that he's not like your standard in your face bandits of yore like the Save Lots lads to be rather refreshing. Makes sense too, as you have to be both cunning and cutthroat to have made it this many years in. Speaking of surviving for many years, dude's the only character who actually looks like they've been surviving for around 6 years in a world that's now basically out of food.
4: Marlon: Had to put him on the list for the sole fact that he's been sparking a whole lot of discussion and is an example of an ambiguous character done right akin to people like the Governor (more so the tv show version). It also helps that I personally like the guy, definitely not in full support of what he did but those sacrificing the few for the many sort of choices are never easy ones to make. Others have argued better cases for him in other topics so in short he's a solid character and had a good albeit abrupt switch from good to bad. A shame that he's not at the very least determinant based on your choices throughout the episode, but we'll see what's in store for his group in the wake of his death.
5: Mitch: Eh what can I say, guy gave out a pretty good first impression all things considered. Being self sufficent and creative enough to create his own weapons, twirling around a knife and sounding like some California kid from the 80's, three positives and so far no negatives. Well aside from his next to no screentime, I remember him being with Brody and Aasim out in the woods and then just disappearing on the way back to base, bummer. Basically a clean slate, but one I'll be keeping an interest in during the upcoming episodes.

If I had to pick a top five I'd probably go with:
