We won't have a determinant PC. So either Clementine dies regardless and we play as AJ next Season, or the story will be detached from Clementine and AJ altogether, leaving room for TFS to have multiple endings. My bet is on the latter.
Maybe we'll play as that dude from ANF whose name I forgot Javier, but I doubt it. Again, too many different endings for ANF.
Probably will be a whole new cast of characters, but we'll see.
It should end with Clementine. I feel it's only right to leave on a good note. Sure we could get a new cast of characters with AJ but it would be more like ANF again. Let the franchise die, kill it if you have to.
If the telltale is to decide to create new characters a new story new place, it will be a waste of time already we have the history of Michonne and Javier to continue although many people have found bad the ANF but they could give a second chance to this story continues.
People need to learn when to let something be put to rest. I get that people love this franchise, but it comes a time for everything to end permanently.
I think AJ's story might be ending too, but even if it ain't I don't think he'll be protag in the future.
My assumption has been, since the announcement of Javier and ANF protag; that it would fail, telltale would revert to Clem for a season, and then drop the series for a few years.
Then once the memory of clem is purely nostalgia they will announce a complete restart from the outbreak to much fanfare. All with new protag and engine (hopefully).
I'd be down for another season with brand-new characters provided that Telltale doesn't somehow lose their writing chops in between Done Running and Take Us Back. If the final season maintains this level of quality then I'll trust them to tell a gripping story with an entirely different cast of characters.
I don't think they will go with AJ, if they keep going with Walking Dead it needs to be a completelly different setup, i would love playing during the outbreak, exploring more horror and the claustrophobia of a city, maybe playing in a Mall, or they could go for an uncannon story about the virus itself, how it got released, who or what created it.
By the "Final Season" it is pretty much confirmed that they're not going to make a "Season 5" no matter if Clem dies or lives. AJ becoming the main guy is pretty much not a different story, but a contiunation of what we started since the beginning.

By final season it means that even if they make other twd games like they kinda hinted at multiple times nobody is gonna give a shit
no lee,no clem,no buy
I would love for both AJ and Clem to survive but we determine who they're with and where they end up. We can be satisfied knowing that we had a part in their fates and leave the rest to headcanon.
Going forward I think the best bet is to have a brand new story and cast to get invested in.
Have you even been watching the interviews regarding this subject? They've been incredibly careful to say that this is only the last installment of Clementine's story, not the last season of TWDG ever.

They rewrote the game again, it was supposed to be about finding mc caroll ranch to save AJ and joan/clint would play a part, but at least they rewrote it for the better this time. cough cough, rewriting s3 last minute cough cough
Dude I just said it. Yeah. They will be doing some spin-offs and shit like that like Michonne game or anything, but the Clementine saga ends. It's last game with Clem, AJ and all the people. Still some room for nice spin-offs like Negan's past.

I honestly wouldn't mind playing as AJ. However, this is the final season so this is where Clem and AJs story ends.
IF there are going to be more walking dead games, then I'm all for a new cast of characters or even exploring an already exsisting characters story. i.e. Christa, Molly, Lilys Story, Any of the 400 days characters etc. (Where did they go? What happened to them?) ANF didn't work because Clems story wasn't finished. Once Clems story is finished, then you can give us new characters to grow attached to. ;D

I remember talking about how I thought the whole TWD franchise was a sinking ship and that it was a smart move for Telltale to jump off, but after playing episode 1 of The Final Season I would love to get more seasons that follow the story of AJ.
I really don't have any interest in seeing yet another story about the beginning of a zombie apocalypse. I've seen them so many times at this point they just feel so redundant seeing people react to the initial shock of everything going to shit.
However if Telltale was to continue the story of AJ and progress further and further down the apocalypse timeline there is a lot more uncharted territory and potential for unique and original stories. I would much rather see this than a simple rehash of what we've already seen.
It would be cool to get a story where people who were old enough to remember the pre-apocalypse have become rare and the story focuses on a cast of people like AJ who really don't have any recollection of what the world used to be like and thus, have a very different perception of the world.
I would love to see how writers explore the way culture and values undergo further evolution as the pre-apocalypse becomes even more of a distant memory.
I'm curious what characters and story they will introduce once this season is over.
I will miss Clementine but it's time to move on, I think the reason why ANF is so despised is because they introduced new characters who had nothing to do with the previous seasons, and also they removed some others in a questionable way (Kenny or Jane), people is still really fond for Clementine or Kenny (like myself) and watching him die like that during a fast and meaningless flashback left me a bad sensation. Maybe it's one of the reason I hated ANF so much, so it's time for them to make new stories and new characters.
Honestly maybe most people will disagree with my opinion, but I wouldn't really bother playing or watching further telltale walking dead series, because I'm just so convinced that nothing will beat Clementine's story. In my opinion the moment Clementine's story is over, TWD should be over as well.
AJ is an exclusive part of Clementines story, so if her story ends, his should too. That would leave room for multiple endings for TFS since I'd hope they wont try to shoehorn AJ into any future seasons. If they want to return to TWD games in the future I think they should just create an all new cast of characters seperate from Clem's story.
I'm going to be honest about this and say that I don't believe there will be another TWD Game after The Final Season. Clem's story will be the ending of the series for good. Telltale never flat out confirmed that there would be more games after this and with all of the other projects being worked on right now I think that Telltale won't be making another TWD Game.
I played both Batman games and A Wolf among Us, they're great games, especially Batman Enemy Within, but I have a strong bias towards Batman so it doesnt really matter
sure, but overall a lot of people only care about TWD
just look at this forum's discussions,TWD got like 35k ,others have like 300 or 1k,i say others cuz i didnt even bother readin their name, bruh, thats the level of idgaf that i and a lot of others have

Hope we can play as Aj in future seasons. But I have a strong feeling Aj is gonna be determinant.
Maybe they will continue with Javi.

I am all for them to go back to the start of the apocalypse again with brand new characters set somewhere else in the world
Knowing the franchise it will probably be a game about Morgan and him losing people before he loses himself. RIP Fear the Walking Dead

Yeah.
By "FInal Season" it means the end of the continuity of this entire saga.

hope we play as javier, or at least see him again this season, gah I miss him loads now, don't miss his family or his story though lol
Telltale said that the characters from season 3 are not coming back to the final season.
They rewrote the game again, it was supposed to be about finding mc caroll ranch to save AJ and joan/clint would play a part, but at least they rewrote it for the better this time. cough cough, rewriting s3 last minute cough cough

Negan's past was already shown in a spinoff comic. I personally would like to see a new original storyline that stays far away from the comics.
I honestly wouldn't mind playing as AJ. However, this is the final season so this is where Clem and AJs story ends.

I'm actually excited about that!
Lies. When Clem dies, my love for TWD dies.

is it too much to ask for a mirror's edge type walking dead game with molly?
It better be. I'm making sure AJ gets FOLDED by the end of the game This I swear!

Well it won't happen anytime soon for us to get a new wd season or series but rest assure clem and aj's story will end this season.
What will Telltale do after TWD tho?
no clem,nobody gives a shit
has anyone here even ever tried/seen other telltale games?
