Rewind is important.

Just wanted to say that a lot of people want Rewind back, so I hope you guys at Telltale reconsider it.

  • Still confused why it was removed. Maybe they didnt want people re-doing choices or something after regretting it. If anything, just make it so once you complete the episode, then you can rewind if thats the problem.

  • I definitely agree and I really miss Rewind :(

I think Telltale has said in the past that Rewind was removed because recent games are meant to be played in one sitting... But if TWDG season 4 is longer than the previous seasons than a rewind feature is desperately needed

  • Would make Swingpoynt's life a hell of a lot easier. Dude has to play each episode like 10 times just to find all the variations.

  • Maybe they didnt want people re-doing choices or something after regretting it.

*Maybe they didn’t want people cheating.

Jk. But really though, redoing choices kinda ruins the experience a bit.

What?!? Ruins the experience? I’m betting you are in the minority with that opinion...

Choice-based gameplay (where you can explore how different decisions affect the story) is a major draw to the Telltale model, and why it has been so successful. It enhances replay value and encourages in-depth debate and analysis regarding the best/worst choices.

I always assumed Rewind was removed in ANF because it was a hassle for the developers to maintain...I remember Season 1 bugs where decisions weren’t properly carrying over to each new episode when the rewind feature was used.

Definitely needs to make a comeback!

  • Thats a great idea

  • Yes please. I really hate having to replay entire episodes just to redo something because I was looking at my phone during what seemed to be boring dialogue and I ended up missing an important decision that showed up out of nowhere.

  • Please do it Telltale. For our sake.

  • Agree

On Batman, I accidentally chose the wrong choice right at the very end on two different episodes. A 10 minute fix with the rewind feature. I had to spend nearly 2 hours on each replaying the same stuff

  • Yes please

  • lol yea feelsbadman. They could increase the price of the game from $20 to $25 dollars and add rewind and I'd be fine with that.

  • I noticed all telltale games since they updated their engine with batman 1 do not feature rewind. Not saying all games prior to that had it, but it's not in the new netflix style menus.

  • under previous management, the stated reason was that it was rarely used, despite the lack of use of crowd play

  • Pffft, we all know that's not true.

  • Hey it doesn’t even matter if they don’t bring back Rewind anymore. Why? Because if you want to redo a choice, you can just restart the episode and you’ll be up to the choice you wanted to change in about 10 minutes due to the probable shitty short episodes they make these days haha ?

  • I'm someone who likes testing out different dialogue options after my first playthrough, so the lack of rewind annoys the fuck out of me.

  • Yea same for me

  • Didn't MostlyPoptarts say that the length of Episode 1 of The Final Season will leave us satisfied? They may go back to making 2 hour Episodes in the future

  • Telltale also said that Ties That Bind was soooo big that they had to fit it into 2 episodes. Well we all remember what utter bullshit that turned out to be! Hopefully things will be different this time

  • Fuck yea it is, it's a pain in the ass and stressful when you accidentally click a wrong choice or click a choice that you think means one thing but is completely different than what you thought it would be, definitely needs to come back I really hated how that feature was taken out

  • And again, Rewind is not in the game. Come on Telltale get your shit together.

  • Good game, Telltale.

  • Achievements would be pointless like they used to be if you could just rewind to the exact point you get the achievement

  • edited September 2018

Weren't achievements also a thing with WD S2, TFTBL and TWAU, all which had rewind? If this is really the case, then its a weak excuse for removing it.

  • Achievements back then were from completing a chapter, you would get every single achievements for the episode when you finished the game, now they made it hard for things like catch every fish or shoot all rabbits, if you're going to that it should be easy to get the achievements then they aren't exactly achievements are they.

Yes they are still achievements, cause you still have to achieve the achievement, if you would rewind to the exact moment to try again.

  • Guess telltale have a slow brain that needs years to understand something lol we bitched at the quality and length for years now wait about the same time we waited for the above.................

  • I think that is something best left up for the player to decide and not something that should be enforced.

I wanted to restart S3E4 (TWD Collection/PS4) and it messed up my whole save and now I have to start all the way back from S1E1 as none of my choices are displayed and have been erased (S1/S2)and randomized (S3). I think it's a game breaking glitch or maybe it's a troll restart. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Seriously why are they not adding it this is so fucking stupid,or just tell us why they removed it.

  • Not having a rewind feature reduces replay value, convenience for the user experience, and makes the game less of a value proposition. Artificially restricting what your players can do with your game is counterproductive, people should be free to experience your game in the way they want to.

The only reason developers restrict how you can play (by not allowing custom servers in multiplayer), is to encourage micro transactions, and that's the opposite of a good thing.

  • I just finished the episode. I replayed it to get all of the achievements. Right before the end I discovered I couldn't pave the skull from the very beginning of the game on the shelf... I now have to start my 4th full playthrough to do that one thing... I have to sit through all of the dialog choices again... If this is how it's going to be, I might stop playing the games all together. I was satisfied with all of my choices and don't want to change any of them. Now, I have to go through the whole thing again, because I couldn't put one thing on a shelf... And I already had to start over twice to make choices I didn't want to make in the first place! I don't want to play through the story 4 times per episode!

  • Without rewind you are more inclined to stand by your choices, it depends on what kind of player you are. In old rpgs accepting failure was an important component.

  • I kinda somewhat get the reason of taking it out, but at the same time it is more of a nuisance and problem than anything else. If the idea is it makes people "keep" their choices all they have to do is just replay the game again or load a random save file.

  • But this isn't really an rpg, it's more of a simulation and like with any simulation you'd want to see the results of all the decisions. Not only that but I missed the cat skull in ep 1, so now i would have to replay the entire ep just to get the cat skull.

    God bless you.

  • That should be left up to the player. I never used rewind to change choices, but I know a lot of people did.

  • I have a software that automatically does backup of a file when edited, so basically each time the game saves a backup is made, so like that I never have to restart the entire game if I made a choice I didn't wanna do (which happens more than not) Not sure If I can put the name of the software in here.

  • naw,it aint about changing choices, rewind was a good feature for like, replaying eps for example, what if played the TFS demo 99 times and now i wanna replay ep 1 but i wanna skip the intro? or replay a certain scene,fo sum reason, cuz why not?
