So an easily appealing blank slate? Wonderful compliment.
He's not? James is kind, caring, thoughtful..and he sees walkers as people and doesn't want to hurt them. Actually it seems like he doesn't want to hurt anyone if you pay attention to all the choices and answers from him. I know the Whisperers are horrible and dangerous people, but James seems completely different?? It's interesting, I can't wait to learn more about him ?

Hop on board.
? ?
Wait, the "guy" is referred to me? ? 'Cause I'm a girl ?
The problem is most people have already chosen either Violet or Louis. There is no option to romance James in episode 2. If Telltale gives us the option to romance James in later episodes, it will work only for those who friendzoned Violet/Louis (unless you want Clem to be a two-timer). But how are these players supposed to know? We're only given two options, Violet and Louis. How are we supposed to know that James will become another potential lover interest? Should we just friendzone Violet/Louis for now and hope they give us James later? What if they don't? Should we start over? If we've already romanced Violet/Louis and Louis becomes an option in later episodes, what should we do? Start over? You don't keep your players in the dark like that. Telltale won't do such a thing. That's why I said James/Clem is not happening.
By the way, welcome to the community. I'm also new here.
You can friendzone Louis or Violet so I hope this will lead Clem to have a chance with James. Why Telltale made him so hot for??
This char… moreacter is also much more interesting and exactly like Clem, he knows what is like to live outside Ericson's walls (unlike Louis and Violet). If we can friendzone Louis or Violet then Jamestine must sail ?
By the way I'm new here, hello ? ? English is not my first language so sorry if you will see grammatical errors ? I'm doing my best!
But how are these players supposed to know? We're only given two options, Violet and Louis. How are we supposed to know that James will become another potential lover interest? It's not that deep. And I definitely think that there were some hints that made the players think of James as another potential love interest for Clem. Personally I've friendzoned Louis because of this. But it's ok if nothing will happen! We will see!

That was...the hardest choice of ep 2 lmao. I flipped James and married Ruby (and killed Aasim, I have nothing against him, he's just not one of my favorite characters). I'm not really into marriage, it sounds boring, what if I get tired of James? Then I prefer to marry a girl and we can be best friends forever✌
What about you @bloop? What was your choice? And also, always regarding James, did you choose to stay awake or to sleep? Another hard choice ?
That's why they introduced James before you make your Violet/Louis decision. Was James handsome enough to get me to friendzone Violet and Louis and take a chance that he might be a love interest? Yes he was.

And I can't believe that Telltale didn't see this coming... putting a hot dude around Clem expecting he will go unnoticed? ?

Can someone explain to me how to post a gif (or an image)? ?
Fans during ANF: We don't want Clem shipped with anyone, especially not Gabe.
Fans during TFS: Ship Clem with everybody.
Nothing against Jamestine, I just think this large shift is kind of funny.

It actually wouldn't be unusual imo. Something almost exactly like that happens in the Mass Effect trilogy.
In Mass Effect 1, you can choose between 3 love interests, or nobody. In Mass Effect 2, you are separated from your love interest for the entirety of the game, and are given the option to pursue a new group of love interests if you want. In Mass Effect 3, your original love interest comes back and you must choose who to be with.
Point being, in Mass Effect 2, we didn't know our love interest would ever come back. In Mass Effect 1, we didn't know there would be different love interests to choose in the next game. Most people didn't just up and start over as soon as they realized this, it simply encouraged them to play through it again. It's a demonstration that we never know what will happen in the future, only what is in the present. Do we live in the present, or think about the future? TellTale did something similar in TWAU, where you are given three different options to spend Bigby's money. Spend it in one place, and you miss out on the other two. Sorry that was long, I just don't really find that to be a compelling reason for James and Clem to not happen. Maybe I'm a hopeful fool though.

While I do think that James is an interesting character and I hope to see more from him, I don't think that he should be an option for Clementine as her boyfriend too. Three options would be a little bit too much. I mean, I like the romance of the Season so far, it's well written, interesting and kinda heartwarming, but c'mon, three different romantic options? That's still The Walking Dead, and not The Walking Romance
James would fit perfect as a good friend for Clementine. She owes him, since he saved AJ and Clementine in the woods.
Clementine is 16/17 years old. It's not like teenagers stop having crushes just because there's zombies walking around. I'd even say it'd be more common due to the scarcity of humans, people would just cling on to whoever they can, and teenagers especially might mistake that for romantic feelings. I think it's valid that TT decided to explore that.
They did a remarkably good job in not shoving the romance in your face. If Clementine views Louis/Violet as a friend, that's how they feel. If she views them as something more, that's how they feel. It's not like actual romance based games where you are forced to reject people and they get butthurt about it.
Not much difference between 2 vs. 3 options imo. If its treated exactly the same, and you dont see any hints of romance unless you look for it, then I dont see the issue. But to each their own of course! James will make a good friend, I just cant help but think he's more interesting for Clem than Louis and Violet because of his experience with the outside world and walkers. Vi and Louis have only ever known the school.
Romance or not, I am excited for Clem to get to know him more!

Nah that's not what I meant, of course they shouldn't stop to fall in crush even if the apocalypse started. Like I said, I like the romance of the season so far.
It's just - in Season 3, the romance-triangle between Javier-David-Kate took over the season and took the quality down, and I think that three options in an 4-episodic-season in The Walking Dead, while 2 episodes are already released, would be just a little bit too much. The season's already 50% done, there are only 2 episodes left, and I think there's not enough "air" to include a third romantic option here.
But yeah, I'm excited about James too and I hope that he will get some more screentime and dialogues in the last two episodes.

(bloop forced me to post this)
lies sir.
I married James, flipped Aasim, and killed Ruby in the game.
As for sleeping or staying awake in his camp, I went to sleep.
What makes you guys ship Jamestine over Violetine and Louistine?
Fans during ANF: We don't want Clem shipped with anyone, especially not Gabe.
Fans during TFS: Ship Clem with everybody.

The hypocrisy is and preemptively was indeed immense.
Im actually surprised James hasn't cussed apart from everyone else well hasn't cussed yet
He hasn't had much screentime, surprisingly.
Also, he's probably above that as well.
It's not so much hypocrisy because the writers gave us characters we actually care about and have actual chemistry with our individual Clementine's.
People were asking about romance long before the final season actually came out and the Ericson Quartet were unveiled.
And clem can choose to not want AJ to swear, I see some hints here and there for Episode 3 if or when james interacts more with us.
Yeah, but the difference is that these kids are likable and Gabe wasn't by the majority of fans.
Married Aasim and Flipped James.
Basically. I've seen about 8 ships with her, if you include the Gabentine shippers from last season.
@NexusFire Ok thanks

Very good point. But Mass Effect did it in the length of three games. We have only two episodes left. Not to mention Clem's romance is just a subplot.
True i agree
True
I will personally donate some of my money to complete TFS if I get a James romance.
It's because it's not Gabe, sir
When Violet gets grossed out by the thought of Clem "flipping" James, do you think it's because he wears a walker mask or it's because he has a penis?
Haha, she claims it's the mask but I get the feeling she canonically has a little crush on Clem even if you dont pursue her.
If you dont rebuff Louis' advances when he flirts with Clem, it'll say on the end screen that Violet was upset by it.
