That's...really odd to hear considering most of the female characters between Season 1 and Season 2 were kinda unconventional/homely one way or another.

Guess I was half right about Kate, though.

  • That's because Telltale was still relatively small at that time. Most of the bad shit came afterwards.

Apparently, yeah. So they just gave her traditionally English/Israel names because...well, David also has one.

I still like the idea of her being white/non-Hispanic and wholeheartedly marrying into a Cuban family though.

  • I don’t think this applies in TFS considering characters like Ruby and Violet.

  • Oh, definitely not.

Also, because the page was still loading/adjusting when I saw this, it looked like you were saying, "I don’t think this applies inHispanic, then?"

I don’t think this applies in TFS considering characters like Ruby and Violet.

  • I kinda just assumed she was white, didn't really stick out to me much, my mothers Irish/Italian and my fathers straight off the island so I just kinda assumed when I saw her. I mean, I can't really speak against the naming since Hispanics embrace the Christian naming, I've know more than one Jesus growing up(it's pronounced 'hey-zues') but damn. This is why old ass dudes from the 50s need to stay out of modern media lol

Like I'm kinda glad they changed/updated it, tbh, but I definitely got that vibe based on some of the writing.

I don't think it was literally every female, but it was good chuck of them, yes.

I don't know, I assume she meant in terms of the base animation rigs.
    It's a weird mandate regardless.

Not that island, I'm a north eastern, Puerto Rico. I thought I'd told you lol. But I've known my share of Jesus, John and Jonathon are also pretty prevalent, Pedro(Peter), and such. Up here Hispanics were general very Christian, and took it to heart when I was coming up.

If it's any reassurance, that assumption is usually correct. Nine times out of ten, that's exactly what's happening.

I think they mean more than Walking Dead, but that doesn't make much sense either as the characters who would for example wear heels were often time business associated, where heel wearing is "part of the outfit" and even then I can only find like of 3 max.

Also I dont understand the reasoning of "we never showed female feet during walking animations due to character rigs being based heel walking animations" considering Walking Dead was the game that started the whole reuse the animations assets rigs and character skeletons over and over again and females just wore sneakers in that game, why not just use the rig for female walking animation that was based as if they were wearing sneakers?

(also if the whole sam thing was changed last second, shouldnt there be a model in the game somewhere still? If someone has it Id like to see how extreme it was)

Gotta love how mundane John sounds, though.

  • Hah, indeed. Everyone does it their own way, Jon, John, Jonathan, Johnny. First Johnny I met was my friend Julios boy, flashed a gun on me after we got into an argument and I called him out on being a dealer. We're straight now, but those were fun times.

That most def. would explain why she went from a perfect golden brown

As you can tell, I think she looked much better with a darker tone. They shouldn't have changed it.

Yeah, the only character who rigs any sort of bell in that regard is Snow White and that's the wrong game.
I'm going to assume if there's any persistent truth there, then they basically just broke how the animation to environment should work in favor of making the heel aspect as non-distinguishable as possible.

Also, that could only apply to the later ANF era games.

(also if the whole sam thing was changed last second, shouldnt there be a model in the game somewhere still? If someone has it Id like to see how extreme it was)

Yeah, probably. Though they also could've just reused it for another character.

Also, wow, gettin flashbacks to when lilac complained that one time.

I think we can all identify the REAL issue with Telltale was their lack of muscular women representation. They do exist in the real world yet were nowhere to be found in any of their games. Just look at Nadine from Uncharted. She wasn't ripped or anything, but you could definitely see she had some muscles on her.

  • What’s wrong with objectifying the womens? Men get objectified in a much worse (or better??) way. I mean look at that flame thrower dildo boss from dead rising 3. When stuff like that happen to men, it’s either a joke or it makes us all say “wtf” but when it’s a women lawsuits start happening, people get shredded apart in DM’s and the press is all over it. Men are ppl too, homes ?

  • What’s wrong with objectifying the womens?

    Why am I not surprised

Men get objectified in a much worse way.

Right, because there's some poor 13 year old boy out there who was objectified by a 17 year old girl when she asked him to send her nudes several times.
But yeah, men get objectified a whole lot more. There are male strip clubs in video games where some desperate lonely girl spends all her time staring at fake dicks ffs.

  • I mean look at that flame thrower dildo boss from dead rising 3.

I mean in all fairness to this particular example, he's meant to be a thematic representation of lust. The psychopaths in DR3 are thematically based around the seven deadly sins. Or well, most of them, anyways.

Also, it's Dead Rising. A game series that didn't hesitate to overtly sexualize its female cast at times either (Jessie in DR1, Rebecca in DR2)
