  • I think I'm probably going to skip watching the game awards this year. The main reason I've even been watching them live for the last few years has been for Wolf 2, and the way I see it if it shows up I'll probably find out not long after it happens anyway. I think I've finally grown too tired of the 3 hour advertisement show. So unless Telltale just says go watch it, I don't think I'll watch this time.

Plus if I don't watch it'll 100% be there, so you're welcome everyone. That or we finally get that 2025 "delay" update, let's go!

Thank you for your sacrifice poogs, I'm hoping this finally manifests it into existence, again (again) 😢🙏

Oh yeah happy 12th anniversary of TWD S1 Episode 5 btw! #LeeForever
(I've been thinking I might play the delisted "Collection" version of TWD, since it was marketed a ton that they improved visuals and character models for TWDS1... -- It was a pre-order bonus for TWD S4 that I never checked out heh... yet!

So... someone at Square Enix or Deck Nine might be in big trouble for abusing a copyright law, because Max/Chloe shippers are having their posts taken down on reddit for criticizing the omission of Chloe from the new DE game...

  • What, how can you abandon us, 3 hours of ads and approximately 17.9 minutes of games and that's suddenly not good enough? You have better uses of your time? Nonsense! Now come and watch the Swedish chef had an awkward skit with Geoff Keighley and hear references to memes that went out of touch 8 months ago.

  • No, man. You've gotta sell it better than that!

I mean who doesn't like seeing 3 minutes of Anthony Mackie playfully yelling something unintelligible at the audience that the mics barely pick up, while also presenting an award at the same time?!

[This Chicken will most likely still watch the awards, because he is a fool that hopes the structure will change this year... also ngl he also likes some of the announcements... 😓]

Geoff: That's right, folks! The Wolf Among Us 2, episode 1, the 4 hour premiere of a 6 episode series is available 2 weeks early for EVERYONE for FREE if you download it RIGHT NOW in the next 3 hours! Trust me, you do not want to miss out! Can the game awards get any better than this? I don't think so!

  • I'll probably watch The Game Awards, but I am still annoyed 1000xResist got snubbed hard, no nominations, not even for Games for Impact or Best Debut Indie... come on.

  • TFTBL is now 10 years old. It is really weird to think that 10 years ago everyone thought this game was going to be bad but then once it came out everyone really loved it and now I think most people would consider it as one of Telltale's absolute best games. It was also probably the best time on here. Like even though the episode waits were really long it was a lot of fun just talking about the game. Tales was just such a blast and I really miss that time.

Not to sound downer, its also so weird thinking how old the game is now. Like when Telltale shutdown, the game wasn't even 4 yet. Crazy.

Anyway. Epic game. Reminder to go back and listen to some of the music.

  • Well this is disapponting to hear. I was looking forward to seeing what they could do.

AMC's Pantheon (season 1) has arrived on Netflix Canada.

I've heard it's a really interesting sci-fi animated show that unfortunately got cancelled after season 2 to the chagrin of many.

Regardless, I'll get into it soon and I'm also interested in what all the buzz is about!

Telltale Games rolling up to the game awards to finally reveal the absolute masterpiece they've been cooking
    (Invincible The Telltale Series)

  • Son of a bitch. Not a good week to be an ex-BioWare developer. First Casey Hudson's studio shuts down, then the very next day, Mac Walters' studio follows.

Fuck, don't let Drew Karpyshyn's studio be next. Exodus is looking pretty good so far.

  • Co-developed by Deck Nine.

Literally we have Horizon: Zero Dawn at home. The shamelessness is astounding lmao they didn't even bother changing the colours of the machines :bawling:

  • Damn, I missed it.

Happy belated birthday, Tales from the Borderlands!

It's genuinely impressive what Telltale managed to create with that silly universe. Such a hilarious game that knew when to get serious and pull at your hearstrings with a cast full of loveable unforgettable characters. It's a shame Gearbox doesn't share the same passion for the franchise as Telltale developers did.

And yes, TftB forums era was the best era. Only the most epic gamers remember.

  • My god, I forgot to listen to this masterpiece on Thanksgiving. I’ll just have to listen to it twice to make up for it. See you in an hour.

  • Been away for a full month, what the hell? Anyways, let me recap some things:

    • I left Twitter. Need I say why? So I joined BlueSky, which I can assure you is a much better place to make friends and discuss with gamers, creators and artists alike. It made me grow very positively. No more bots, no more over-negativity and most importantly, no more Musk and his garbage politics.
    • I didn't play Until Dawn Remake but from what I have seen in a certain review, I think it's safe for me to say this is the most soulless game remake of this generation so far. It has worse art style, worse soundtrack (No fucking "O'Death" music for the intro, mind you), worse atmosphere and it only has two new scenes that don't make much of a difference besides setting up a fucking sequel. As someone who used to be obsessed with this game 9 years ago, this game no longer means anything to me. They are too fucking late to make a sequel to this. Who cares about this "interactive movie" genre anymore?

Not to mention, how are they even gonna handle Josh's character now that he is alive? Rami Malek became a Hollywood star and he wasn't even back for the remake.

    • I loved Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, it's the best DLC/Expansion I've played in a very long time. That being said, The Game Awards must be on drugs to put this one in the "GOTY" category. I don't care how good or how much I loved that DLC, this game is still a DLC at the end of the day. You can't even access it without the base game. No matter, I'm gonna skip this one because what Geoff did last year is just big insult to the gaming industry. If there are gonna be any trailers for some exciting games, I'll just watch them on Youtube.

    • I drove all alone for the very first time. I had my license since 2018 but never had the guts to drive without someone beside me. Believe it or not, people die in car accidents more than plane crashes. To give an example, there is this youtuber who passed away this year in a car accident and it wasn't even because he didn't wear a seatbelt or because he interfered with another vehicle. He just happened to crash and die.
    • I'm honestly blown away by the fact that it's has been 10 years since Tales from the Borderlands released. Remember when this forum was filled with so many fans? I miss the times discussing this game with each episode release. Now this is all that remains.
  • So this is it huh? We're some kind of The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1: All That Remains or something?

So AdHoc is teasing stuff on their twitter and their website too. Looks like a game awards reveal. However, based on that screenshot they posted on twitter, I don't think it is Wolf 2 related. They also deleted everything else. Including wolf 2 stuff. So.

May have to end up watching the game awards because there will be a wolf 2 update, just probably not one we want to hear. It seems like this is the game they were going to make before wolf 2 which begs the question of you know, what happened? After they reveal this game is I am sure there will be a follow up interview not long after that will ask about Wolf 2. Hopefully, the answer will be they are still working on it, but getting very worried it will just confirm that AdHoc has split for whatever reason from the project.

  • Up until recently adhoc followed telltale on different social medias. They don't anymore, so I think its fairly safe to say that they no longer have any part in making twau2.

  • I think it is pretty safe to assume that original delay was because Telltale and AdHoc split, not for any other reason they gave. It seemingly adds up with the timeline from other information we know. Without AdHoc I don't even want this game. Seeing how Telltale decided to just blow all their money and fire everyone, we probably won't anyway!

They posted another teaser just now. It's definitely not TWAU2; it looks a little like action figures off an assembly line.

I was still holding out hope, but the nuked Twitter account cinches it. What a goddamn mess. Hopefully Telltale will stop dragging this out and make some sort of announcement in the coming weeks.

  • Honestly, I hope they cancel it now.

The "best case" scenario is AdHoc is finished with their part of Wolf 2 and Telltale are the ones who fucked it all up on their end, so much so AdHoc has reached the point of revealing their own game.

"Second best" is they had a falling out but Telltale is still keeping the AdHoc story parts.

However, the realistic answer is that they had a falling out and pretty much all the AdHoc stuff is gone and a different studio has been working on the game, like how we know Deck Nine was apparently considered.

However, I'm starting to really think that they had a falling out which lead to the delay, and then Expanse fucking bombed and then they laid everyone off and now just nothing is happening but pretending everything is fine.

So pick your poison, Wolf 2 never releases or Wolf 2 by Deck Nine/Deck Nine quality. The correct answer is Wolf 2 never releases!

I'm so glad Telltale's comeback was promising Wolf 2 with original devs just to release a shitty Expanse game and then die again, not before also making sure to screw over the original devs again. Oops.
