Did an alt playthrough of episodes 5 and 6. Here are the differences I've found!

    Episode 5

    • If you had dinner with Blonde Blazer, she will approach Robert in the locker room right after the opening with Flambae about having a real date. She'll also ask you if you'd prefer the date to be with Blonde Blazer or Mandy.
    • If you recruited Waterboy, he'll leave you a box of Roberts favourite donut on his desk and a thank you card. Unfortunately they're both incredibly moist.
    • If you recruited Phenomaman, he'll leave a potted plant on his desk as well as a thank you card.
    • In the bar, if you still have Sonar he'll be cheering on and placing bets on Malevola as she arm wrestles a villain. If not he'll be replaced by a random villain who's betting against her.
    • If you watched a movie with Invisigal, when Robert approaches her while she's trying to order a drink at the bar she'll joke about this being their second date and flirt with him a bit.
    • If you have Waterboy, Robert will hand him a drink and tell him to have fun. If you have Phenomaman he'll be found trauma dumping on a poor villain who's trying to get away from him.
    • Sonar/Coupe will thank Robert for keeping them on the Z-Team.
    • Post-bar brawl, Waterboy will ask everyone to pay him back for the food. Phenomaman will say it's on him.
    • If you have Sonar, during the barfight he's doing cocaine in the bathroom. He'll transform into his beast mode off screen and join the fight. If you have Coupe, she'll be vomiting her guts out then continue binge drinking during all the chaos.
    • If you have Sonar, he'll find a cockroach and add it to his taco. If you have Coupe, she'll cut open her own palm and drip some of her blood onto her taco, much to Prism's disgust.
    • If you reveal your identity to the Z-Team, Flambae will try to attack Robert but will be stopped by Golem and Waterboy if you have him. He'll fly off in anger and the remaining team will reveal their real names to you.
    • If you don't reveal your identity, Robert will tell the Z-Team that it's all in the past and what they and him are doing now is what matters. The whole team, including Flambae will reveal their real names to you.
    • Invisigal is Courtney, Waterboy is Herm, Phenomaman is Katon-Ur, Sonar is Victor, Coupe is Janelle, Prism is Alice, Golem is Bruno, Malevola is Malevola Gibb, Punch Up is Colm, and Flambae is... Chad.
    • If you have Phenomaman, he'll reveal that on his home planet he was given the nickname Dumpy (a Tales from the Borderlands ref) due to his phat ass.

If you revealed your identity, the episode will end with Robert talking to Golem, if not he'll be talking to Flambae.

    Episode 6

    • If you revealed your identity to the Z-Team, everyone (sans Flambae) will be present when Robert tests out his new Mechaman suit. They'll say that they're there to make sure Robert's actually Mechaman so they can know who wins the bet. Prism wins the bet and takes her winnings.
    • When things go wrong and the Z-Team is there, Malevola will open a portal in order for Royd to get in and try and help. If not, Royd will eventually bust open the door.
    • If you romance Blonde Blazer, she will immediately hug Robert when he gets to his desk.
    • During the housewarming party, if you have Sonar he'll shatter Malevola's beer bottle with his screech while she's pointing at something on the projection. If you have Coupe she throw a knife into the projection to point out a location.
    • If you have Phenomaman, he'll give Robert and BB a hug at the same time.
    • If you romanced Invisigal she'll dance with Robert, while Chase looks on disapprovingly in the background.
    • If you romanced Blonde Blazer she'll dance with Robert, while Invisigal gives them a jealous look.
    • Invisigal will also have an annoyed look everytime Malevola "flirts" with Robert, like her rubbing her tail on him.
    • Either Sonar or Coupe can be seen on the balcony using their phones during the argument between Invisigal and Chase.
    • Blonde Blazer will give Robert a kiss on the cheek when she leaves the party with Chase. Phenomaman will give a sad look.
    • If you didn't reveal your identity to the Z-Team, Chase will blurt it out to everyones disbelief. Then when Flambae shows up late to the party he'll make a wazzup joke.
    • If you didn't reveal your identity, Flambae immediately punch Robert out as soon as the door opens, saying he might have to do that at least once a month to be okay with working with Robert.

    Details from artbook and comics

    • When creating Flambae, he originally had blonde hair and was given the name Blonde Blazer.
    • Prism went through a number of design themes, from something more scientific to supernatural, before settling on pop-diva.
    • Golem went through a number of design changes. Including a giant mechanical frog, a lava monster, a living statue, a tree, and a robot.
    • Malevola's final design was inspired by Cindy Crawford's appearance in a Pepsi commercial in the 90's.
    • Punch Up starting out as a usual carnival strongman but got progressively shorter as they continued designing him.
    • The Sardine bar in episode 5 is inspired by a real bar of the same name in Torrance, California. Though much less seedy.
    • Chase voted to let Eli (Shroud) into the Brave Brigade, Robert Sr is implied to have voted no.
    • It's heavily implied that the Brave Brigade were taking advantage of Eli.
    • Robert got that hole in his ear after trying to destroy the Mecha Man suit with a hammer as a kid, but its self defence system activated which fired lasers at him. He's then saved by Chase and his dad.
    • His dad is implied to have been abusive in some form.
  • The final trailer.

  • With recent talk by Adhoc after the games big success and now the "season" finale, I think it's safe to say there will likely be a second season in the future. However, I imagine the Critical Role game will be take full priority before they dive back into Dispatch.

    The final trailer.

  • Episodes 5+6 were really fucking good. Gaaaaawd this is what missing telltale feels like yeah? I haven't felt this way in a long time. I'm not even into critical role but you can bet your ass I'll be playing whatever Adhoc puts out next. Missed you (not) telltale~

  • Adhoc's started sending out merch to YouTubers!

Finished Dispatch. Overall very good and had a great time with the game!

Shroud was a pretty boring bad guy though. Which kind of sucks because I think his introduction is actually great and had me really excited to find out what his deal is, but he is kind of just a bad guy. I thought he would either be Robert's dad or we'd get some kind of flashback involving his dad and Shroud to try and give him a better motive. A lot of this is more in the comics, and I do think it was a missed opportunity to not include Robert's dad in the actual game as a flashback because I felt like at the very least the game was building to a flashback with him. But Shroud's motive is give me back my pulse that I made but for some reason can't make again or something. Kind of a weirdly generic bad guy considering the rest of this game is far from generic.

I also kind of wish the last episode wasn't just an action fest. It kind of felt like we didn't get so much closure on the main cast. Flambae became one of my favorites after the last episodes and he doesn't really do much these episodes, and if you didn't tell the team about being Mecha Man and they only learn at the end of the last episode, there is almost no acknowledgment. Like I get they need to get everyone on the same path, but it does kind of feel like it was missing some moments, which I do think is probably my biggest complaint about the game, is there is a lot of wishing there was just a little bit more. Like a scene should have been here or extended a little more. I think a lot of that comes down to the budget though. Like it would have been cool to kind of have one last talk with our team, but we don't, which is what I mean by sometimes I just wish the scene was a little longer, really felt like after talking to Blazer we now have one last talk with the team and then the game ends. There was a few other small nitpicks, I think the Visi traitor thing is a little messy, but they didn't ruin the experience or anything like that.

But this game had a lot of charm and character to it. Great game!

    Overall episode ranking

    1. Eps 5 and 6
    2. Eps 1 and 2
    3. Eps 7 and 8
    4. Eps 3 and 4

    However I'd probably rank on a tier list eps 1 2 5 and 6 in S and ep 7 and 8 in A and 3 and 4 in B tier.

But overall, yeah. Really liked this and I'm happy it's been so successful for them. Easily the best type of a game like this
    in a long time!

  • [Glass Him]

  • While I don't care much for Shroud himself, I do have to say, it's satisfying to be able to defeat the villain in one of these games by giving them a choice. Shroud was so scared of making his own choices and that's why he was constantly trying to improve his prediction tech, so that he'd never have to be wrong. So giving him a 50/50 and watching him fail it is such a good way to cap him off.

Finished episodes 7 and 8, and absolutely loved them! Very action packed, high stakes, lots of great character moments especially with both Blonde Blazer and Invisigal, some really tough choices and everyone gets a moment to shine. The dispatching this episode was super stressful lmao, probably the worst run I've done the whole season. I think my only problem with the finale is that I wish we got to talk more with the Z-Team, but aside from that I thought it was great!

If they make a second season I really hope we stick with the current team. I really love the Z-Team and I think it would be a shame to have to start over with a new cast of characters. Plus it would give Adhoc the opportunity to expand on what's already here.

As for the season as a whole. Loved it! It's up there with some of Telltale's best and might be a hot take (at least on here), but I'm especially fond of the dispatching gameplay and wouldn't mind a spin off that's just that. My only real issues with the season overall are, I wish we get more individual bonding time with the Z-Team, more development for Shroud, and that Robert gets sexually harassed/assaulted like every other episode. Like come on guys, if the genders were swapped that shit would not fly lmao.

I really don't want to say goodbye to Dispatch, but I imagine we'll have to wait a while before we see the gang again. But in the meantime I cannot wait to see what Adhoc does in the world of Critical Role.

  • Hey everybody, long time no see. Figured what better way to come back then after finishing Dispatch.

Long story short, game was...phenomenal. Probably an 8.5/10 for me. Voice acting, superb. Characters, simple but complicated, each with their own unique charm to them, without coming off as one-note and stereotypical. Writing, exactly what I used to love about classic Telltale. Animation, absolutely gorgeous. Beef, precious and adorable. Robert, a bitch with a tiny little peen.

I do kind of wish choices mattered a bit more, and I didn't like how Visi was double/triple/quadruple crossing at the end there, but those are my only real major complaints.

If I could get a stand alone game of just the dispatching, or a mode in the game where I could just do that, I would be set for a while.

  • Dispatch peaking at over 200k players

    Telltale:

  • If anyone's interest, Adhoc has some Dispatch merch up for pre-order!

It's comprised of posters, shirts, a Beef tote bag, an SDN mug, and a Mechaman hoodie.

This is such a Telltale game at heart. Also the Jack Daniels the Cat Mascot is pouring into the coffee is actually called JAKE RODKINS, another easter egg (https://www.tumblr.com/providencekamugamedev/800137070241890304/jake-rodkin-from-telltale)

Incredible Finale. The episode being the length of a normal telltale episode was really shocking, but entirely welcomed. A lot of tough decisions and I totally botched the last shift aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, but everything seemed to work out pretty well in the end. Really really really happy with the game. Absolutely my GOTY. Adhoc I am now your loyal fan. New Telltale needs to put up or shut up if they want to be taken seriously at all after this.

Did an alt playthrough of final episodes of Dispatch! Here are the differences and details I caught! Really long one this time around.

    Episode 7

    • Chase will actually get Robert whatever he asks for to cheer him up. If you ask for Twinkies, he'll give you a whole box of them. If he asks for beer, Chase will steal a bottle for Robert who will try to chug it but spit it out in disgust. Chase will also surprise him with a pack of Twinkies.
    • If you romanced Blazer, when she gives Robert money for the vending machine she will hold his hand to her cheek.
    • Depending on who you fired, either Coupe or Sonar will be in the lounge with Flambae when Robert makes the announcement that Visi's been suspended.
    • During the same announcement, if you have Waterboy on the team, he'll be seen sitting in a bucket full of water in the janitor's closet. If you have Phenomaman, he'll be on the moon watching Earth while drinking beer.
    • During the meeting about Invisigal, if you have Waterboy he'll vote to kick her out for what happened to Chase. If you have Phenomaman, he'll abstain because he's not a former villain and doesn't believe he should take part in the vote.
    • If you revealed your identity to the team in episode 5, Flambae will also vote to keep Invisigal in because the team didn't kick him out after trying to attack Robert and he believes she deserves the same treatment. If not he just votes against her.
    • If you don't cut Invisigal the teams morale will decrease, making the next dispatch shift more difficult.
    • In the locker room with Visi, if you tell her that you're done she'll say that she wished that people looked at her like how they look at Blazer. As a hero. She'll then leave the room.
    • If not she'll kiss you and you're given the choice to lean in or lean out. If you lean in it'll further the romance, but if you lean away she'll give you a look of heartbreak before leaving.
    • Blaming Invisigal for the harbor incident or saying that Chase acted as a hero for the statement will affect the news report later in the bar. If you blamed Invisigal, Blazer will talk about a mission going wrong. If you tell her to talk about Chase, Blazer will reveal his identity to the public, saying that he risked his life to save a colleague.
    • If you glass the bartender, he'll get knocked down. Eli will hop over the counter and shoot him in the head.
    • If you hold back, Eli will say he's surprised that Robert let that go before shooting the bartender in the head for being rude.
    • When Robert is being tortured in the bar, if you fired Coupe she will cut him up with her knives. If you fired Sonar, he will use Robert as a punching bag. Robert's injuries will change depending on who is the one torturing him. He'll either be all cut up or bruised like a banana.
    • If you choose to spit at Shroud, Roberts spit doesn't go far and just lands on his own face.
    • When Blazer barges in and threatens Shroud, if Sonar is there he will interrupt her with a fart noise and call her out on it. Shroud will then hit him with the butt of his gun and tell him not to disrespect "one of the last true heroes", causing him to back off. If Coupe is there she will interrupt her with an "Okay mom." Shroud will quickly turn to glare at her, she'll then back off in fear.

    Episode 8

    • If you cut Invisigal from the team, she will not appear in any of the dispatch shifts.
    • If you previously hired Waterboy, Robert will recruit Phenomaman due to all the Red Ring activity and vice versa.
    • If you only have one third of the Torrance health bar left, Blonde Blazer will swoop in and join the Z-Team.
    • If you don't untie Visi, she will call out to Thumbstick right as Robert's about to zap him with the taser, causing him to turn around. Robert will hit him with it but get lightly stabbed by a thumb in the process. Thumbstick will fall onto Robert and both are knocked out. Robert will wake up to find himself covered in piss and Visi gone.
    • If you untie Visi, she will shoot Thumbstick with the laser gun and knock him out. She will then ask you to zip Thumbstick's pants up, though you can get her to do it herself. If she does, she will then wipe her hands onto Robert.
    • Sonar's upgrade if he's with Shroud allows him to unleash an energy beam from his mouth. Coupe's upgrade allows her to telepathically control her knives.
    • If you cut Coupe, she will reveal that Sonar's been secretly shitting in the SDN parking lot. If you cut Sonar, he will reveal that Coupe's been stealing toilet paper from the office.
    • If Sonar is on Shroud's side, Robert and Blazer will fight him underground in the dark ending the fight with Robert simply turning off Sonar's collar with a push of a button while he's having a beam struggle with Blazer. He gets knocked out by Blazer right after. If it's Coupe, then Robert and Blazer will fight her up in the clouds. The fight ends with Robert taking out her wings and knocking her out. She falls out of the sky but Blazer manages to catch her at the last second and save her.
    • If you give Shroud both Pulses, he will end up choosing the prototype. It works at first but something goes wrong and starts violently vomiting. All his grunts who are connected to him like a hive mind begin puking as well.
    • If Visi becomes a hero, she will take a bullet meant for Robert. Robert will then beat Shroud to a pulp.
    • If you decide to kill Shroud, Robert will strangle him to death with his bare hands. The moment is very similar to the scene in The Walking Dead with Lee beating up Andy in season 1 episode 2.
    • If Visi becomes a villain, she will kill Shroud by stabbing him in the neck. She'll pick up his mask and toss the Astral Pulse to Robert, give him one last wink and disappear. Beef will lap up some Shrouds blood before Robert quickly grabs him.
    • If you or Visi killed Shroud, Chase either says he deserved it or say that Visi did them a favour by doing so.
    • If you forgive Coupe/Sonar for becoming villains, they will give you a nod, then join the crew and celebrate, if not they will look sadly at Robert before being shoved into the police van.
    • If Visi ends up a hero, Mandy will tell Robert he did a great job with everyone and praise Visi for stepping up and even taking a bullet for him. If not, she will say that Visi never really bought into the idea of being a hero. Her and Robert can theorise on what she's gonna do next, whether it be taking over the Red Ring, coming after Robert, or just simply hoping she ends up okay.
If you romanced Invisigal and she embraces heroism, Robert and her will kiss while she's on a stretcher ready to be sent to a hospital. If you romanced Blazer, Robert and her will kiss while resting on a car drinking beer.

    • Depending on Visi's fate, Chase will either tell you he was right or wrong about her.

    • If Visi becomes a hero, she will photobomb the last photo with the group.
    • Certain characters won't appear in the credits depending on your choices. So if you don't have Visi and Coupe/Sonar, they won't appear except during the cast names.

    Art book and comic details

    • There was discussion to have a flashback with young Robert, his dad and Eli but didn't end up happening.
    • The flashback with Chase was originally bigger in scope but ended up having to get downsized.
    • The white haired witch looking character who appears among Shroud's crew was originally designed as another dispatchable hero but ended up getting cut.
    • Robert's dad completely screwed over Eli by taking the Astral Pulse and pushing back any discussion of Eli joining the Brave Brigade. This results in Eli challenging Robbie to a fight for the pulse, but is beaten almost to death. Chase chews him out, and Robbie says that he considers the beatdown a test and that if he returned he would consider Eli hero material. However, when Eli does return he shoots Robbie once in the heart before running away as he dies in Chases' arms.
    • Shroud lied about the number of times he shot Roberts dad.
  • Those last 2 episodes.

As usual, I had some gripes with it though.

I agree with the others that the last Visi reveal, that she's been a traitor all along, doesn't make sense. It doesn't add anything to the story besides some short term confusion, so I just chose to ignore it lel. I feel like the only reason writers put that there was so that she could freely disappear at the end. (but that's pretty easy to write around as well, so like whatever) I also wish Chase stayed dead (or at least stayed in the coma). Kinda cheapens the impact of his sacrifice and I didn't have that much of a reason to kill Shroud at the end. Also Shroud was kind of lame as a main villain, but I expected there won't be much development for him since he was missing for most of the game.

As for the positives, I was pleasently surprised by the last episode's length. I usually don't care about long QTE sequences, but this time it worked for me. It was nice seeing all the heroes finally fighting together. Also I was really happy about that they gave whoever you decided to cut bigger role in the final episode. After the 6th episode I was worried that they'd just ceased to exist, so I was glad to be proven wrong. (Altho it was really stupid for SDN to just... not keep an eye on them, but that's a minor complaint)

Overall, I don't think Dispatch nearly reaches the quality of the top Telltale Games (except for animations, those are top notch and knock the old Telltale out of the water lol), but that could be attributed to the budget constraints, so I don't really hold the lack of different choices outcomes and the dispatching segments not mattering against them. With how Dispatch ended up being succesful, hopefully they're only going to improve for their next game. I wonder if there's going to be another mini game tied to it or if it's going to be more classic Telltale point and click experience.

Also I made a meme (shameless plug):

Loved the way you could defeat the main villain

  • I'll add my own tidbit.

If you don't manage to beat Sonar/Coupe during the dispatching mini game in episode 8, you won't get the choice to forgive them and they always get arrested, which I believe makes it the only time when the dispatching gameplay matters. It's relatively minor, but it's something at least.

In case people find it hard to read, it says:

    Hard to describe the feeling…

Two weeks ago i didnt really think id make music again. Now, Radio just passed 4.5 million streams. Numbers feel weird, but hearing that my song made any kind of impact… thats fucking cool.
