I know this sounds very mean but I honestly thought this guy was no longer a part of the team and it actually fills me with dread that he still is. Bro's most noticeable credits are the Deck Nine LIS games (up until DE and R) and Expanse. I feel kind of bipolar with my responses to this game but like... the Deck Nine and Expanse guy saying Wolf 2 is going to deal with "the darkest themes yet" when the Deck Nine's would talk about "dark themes" they were the most PG-13 shit imaginable.
Polygon did an interview with the games director, Zak Gariss.
The writer talked about playing the demo, with him having to decide whether… more or not to tell Faye the human that magic is real, and also reveal that Bigby had stolen a photo from the police station. He also talked about the bookshelf puzzle which is seen in the trailer. Gariss talked about the sequel having a darker story than the first game, drawing from his experience working on the production crew of the show Criminal Minds.
Bigby will be heading to Queens, New York to track down a Fable. However, the cat and mouse chase is flipped on Bigby as he becomes the one being hunted by someone who is able to trigger his wolf transformation from a distance. It also looks like our favourite detective will be put through the ringer this time around.
“One of the central questions our story asks — and this is definitely the darkest version of Fabletown players will have seen yet —… [view original content]

For comparison the original TWAU was rated MA15+ which means either the remaster and 2 are more violent or Australia has gotten stricter with their ratings.
Damn that seriously sucks they need to drop this walking red flag of a man.
How do you even manage to direct a game from one of the biggest lgbt franchise in gaming (life is strange) and then you complain about it cause there's..lgbt characters and minorities in said franchise that you're directing. Fucking idiot.
Even if we put the politics aside and how awful of a person he is,he sounds like the shittiest director ever not listening to his team, working on games on his own with someone else, turning your place of work into a place of conflict, that's pretty bad.
If Telltale doesn't drop him here's hoping this moron didn't have much influence on the story Adhoc was telling.
The concept of losing adhoc and instead having the creative director replaced with a guy no one likes to work with who has also only directed really bad video games.
Oh god. The man who single-handedly ruined the writing consistency of the original Life Is Strange with Before the Storm prequel by introducing lots of retcons and lore errors. What could go wrong?
I wonder what the noir mode would've looked like if they did something like the Batman Shadows mode, where they also sneak in stylized pinches of color - that would especially look cool for the Wolf Among Us neon noir comic palette. But, that aside, this still does look pretty neat for them to add!
Also nice to finally have a release date! (If you wishlist the game on Steam, it helps the game get more exposure in the Steam Storefront search algorithm.)
The remastered deleted/cut scenes sound like a really neat feature for them to include, and I also appreciate the effort they took to keep the remastered art style/models visually consistent. Game remasters don't always get that right, so the effort they look to have taken here looks quite nice!
Apparently the deleted scenes are now known. I was hoping there would be a big surprise with a deleted scene we had 0 idea about or they added one of the really old deleted scenes like pre-twd (but maybe they'll share that stuff with the behind the scenes content) but the ones they chose were kind of the expected ones except maybe the last one. Its Woodsman hiding, Beauty finding Faith, extended ep 2 intro, ep 5 business office, and an extended talk with Nerissa at the end. If I remember correctly for Nerissa I think it was only audio remaining for that, so it should be cool to actually see it working. Its also just cool in general to actually see this kind of stuff at all.
I do hope the behind the scenes stuff go pretty deep into the very early stuff because I think it would be super interesting and they did say it would talk about it there, just not how much. Like I'd love to see the step-sister stuff or things like Bigby using glamor and all that. I get that would be a lot harder than the deleted scenes they chose, but I am sure they do have access to these really old versions, so I hope maybe they'll have videos showing off some of that stuff, instead of being playable due to it being too unfinished.
I also wonder if there will be any Wolf 2 easter eggs which I think they also hinted at. I kind of feel like the behind the scenes videos they announced kind of spoiled Nerissa is going to be in Season 2 just due to the fact they brought her in for behind the scenes stuff.
Ooo not a fan of that new werewolf design, he looks like a hairy goblin now. I guess they might have changed it to be more in line with what the sequel design might look like? In which case I'm pretty disappointed.
Played the demo.
Game looks good, although still hits that "this is how I remember the original looking anyway (even though it's different)" feeling. A couple of things stand out a little, like a coat that looks too bright, or the hair. But overall, I like the additions, like new textures on the Grendel, and Bigby's half-werewolf form (I also like the full-werewolf form they showed in the trailer, the one in the original always looked kinda weird to me. I would prefer the one from the Wolf 2 original trailer, but the one we get in the Remaster feels like a good middle option).
Now the Noir Mode...I just don't see how the game could benefit from it at all. I tried it for a couple of minutes, but there is almost nothing justifying it. The game has great visual design, such beautiful color work, so to strip it away is to do yourself a disservice already. Then, there's also the fact that the game is very indecisive as to what to keep in color and what's not. Subtitles and some writings like "Apartment, late afternoon and stuff" are colored, but the dialogue choice UI is not. And because it's black and white, it made it almost impossible for me to see the timer for the dialogue as it's running out. Same thing goes for the fight scenes UI, it's all black and white, so it's hard to make out where to aim the reticle, in timed fights. So I feel sorry for the people who will decide to play this game in that mode from the get go. Not only will they miss out on half of the design fo the game, but it will also be very frustrating with the UI. It feels like that Mode is something thrown in at the last moment, so it's just a shader or a filter, the Batman's Shadows Mode was a bit better, at least it had a style choice akin to Sin City. Here, they could have done something different as well, not purely black and white but keeping the purples and blues and yellows, the bright colors.
Also minor personal nitpick - Steam page advertises Noir Mode as being something that you can change in game at the press of a button, which made me assume it's something you can turn on and off at any point in-game, as advertised, with a press of a button (like how some remasteres offer a choice of switching between old and new version in real-time), which I thought would be a pretty cool feature, to be able to switch here and there. But it's not like that in game, you have to go into options from the pause menu and switch there, disappointing.
Now, after all that negativity - I'll still buy the remaster, especially with the discount. I love this game. No, I guess not like that, I LOVE this game. I mean I sat down to play the demo for 10 minutes, ended up playing through the whole episode 1. I will throw my money into the support for the studio, I really hope we'll see Wolf 2 in 2027. Good luck to the team!

Bigby?! You're the Wolf??? No...I am...Among Us...
I was just looking on my Steam account and realised i haven't launched TWAU since 2015 and the last time i did a full playthrough was in 2014.
I am now debating whether do to another playthrough now or just wait for the remaster.
Does anyone remember the good ol' days of stalking the Australian classification board for episode clues?
It seems they have already rated both the remaster and TWAU 2 as an Australian R18+ rating.

Well, now I wish it remained stuck in development hell.

That definitely makes me less hyped for the game.

The excitement...
..and then the penny drops...
Releases on October 29th with a Noir Mode.

I think I do really like a lot of the details the remaster adds, they're very complementary.

I don't know how else to describe it other than comparing this to the original looks like putting on glasses. Looks good!
5 playable deleted scenes among other extras are detailed.

I kind of dig the intimidating look of the new version of Bigby's werewolf form.
