  • The mobile version doesn't seem to have improved at all since the beta. That's disappointing. I have to hold my phone vertically oriented to even see what I'm writing.

  • Yeah.. I really like this. Now what should we talk about?

  • It has that new site smell!

    The backgrounds are pretty.

  • I like the new look as well, design looks very nice! Guess I'll get used to the new forum look in no time!

  • I don't even know what's going on.

I can hardly figure out how to do anything other than update Avatar on my Profile.

I'm not a fan. It's a forum, not a Youtube comments section. Seriously, the button even says that it uses comments and not posts. At least it's the same people.

Edit: Did profile pics not carry over?

A mobile version of the site is in the works.

  • It stinks.

  • According to the forum post prior to the switch, profile pics won't carry over.

  • I mean the absence of a mobile version. With responsive design being such a hot topic in web design I don't see why the floating menu bar (that I only see a fraction of) can't be unfloated on small resolutions or collapsed into a single button. How often do people use the menu in a typical session anyway?

  • I like that each community section has its own set of backgrounds. I'm not so sure about how much screen real-estate is taken up by each comment; there's a lot of empty space around. The reply / like / dislike buttons could easily be stacked to the right of each comment rather than below to make things more compact.

It would also be nice to have options to change the number of comments per page. I might be missing something there though. Discussions with multiple threads and lots of comments are likely to get quite unwieldy quite quickly, I suspect.

I like that the comment editor allows italic, bold, etc. to be specified using simple markup. It would be nice for the editor to have a WYSIWYG mode (or at least a preview option) so that it's possible to see how your comment would appear.

Will keep browsing and give more feedback later. :-)

  • The 'new comment' tag looks weird floating in the middle of the comment. I understand why that's the case (the flag/edit/hide button positioning), but it would look better if it floated to the right of those buttons (or somewhere else that's unobtrusive in the comment).

  • It changed a bit from the beta I must say. And finally the markings for new comments stay for a bit. Also the red is gone. Good choice on that. I'm kinda curious how the alerts will pile up over night and how annoying they will get once I use the site more.

  • Sometimes things are best left the way they used to be...

  • I agree with the "real-estate" problem he mentions. Also, some users might be confused by how all sections of a forum are listed at once when you go to a forum on the community section, with the categories listed only on the side. For instance, I went to the Walking Dead and almost the entire first page of the combined forum section was consumed by Stickied posts from all of the sections. I'd say you might want to make each forum post title a little thinner.

  • My browser (Chrome) doesn't seem to be picking up when comments have been read. This thread is currently showing 12 new comments. If I use the 'scroll to next new comment' button, it seems to mark each comment as read (the highlight disappears) but when I reach the end it goes back to the start and marks them all as new again.

  • No they don't carry over. Either use Gravatar or one of the stock avatars. There is no other way right now.

  • I have this problem as well. Also, you might want to make a blog post pointing out intricacies some newer users might miss out on. For instance, I discovered that clicking on the "New Comment" box makes the comment not count as "New" (even though this currently does not work for some of us), but others might not pick up on that.

I think we'll get used to it eventually. It was needed since the old forum was breaking down, and the daily downtime for maintenance was getting worse. At least now, the forums will not have downtime. So when I come in here wanting to post at 3AM, I actually will be able to. :)

How do you change your avatar?

  • I usually hate all changes, so i'll try to stay open-minded for the next few days.

  • I'm just really confused. :\

  • JessW_TTGJessW_TTG Telltale Alumni

Hey! To change your avatar click on the little arrow up top next to the flag. From there go to settings and you can pick from a handful of our avatars or upload your own. Hope this helps!

Well I was always told to never judge a book by its cover..... But I really do not like the look of the new site, not one bit BUT I guess I'll give it a shot since I know the telltale team must have put a lot of effort to make it.

How do I even give myself my own avatar picture, instead of the forum ones?! And I'm sad about losing my albums too, where is my friends list, where are the community groups?

Click on the triangle drop down menu next to your current avatar. Then choose profile. Then go to settings. You'll be able to change your avatar to any of the preset ones from Telltale's game settings, or choose your own by uploading one to https://en.gravatar.com/ :)

To my knowledge, albums and community groups did not carry over. To change your avatar though, all you need to do is select the little arrow on the top bar, go to settings, and select from one of our many avatars or upload your own.
