  • Oh wait... actually the last one was "Flamebait". Just remembered that. Would have edited it in but wait! NO EDIT BUTTON.

Personally, the only "upvote/downvote" feature I've really enjoyed was on Roosterteeth, where the options were "Zing!" "Ditto" "WTF?" "n00b" and "FAIL" or something like that.

  • I'm not sure i like the new site yet.
It doesn't seem so easy to take in at a glance.
I suppose I'll get used to it though.

  • Thought I commented that I appreciate the attempt to add a little more color, but I'm not a huge fan of the new post setup,

Guess the post glitched out. So there's that.

Like practically EVERYTHING I post. Is anybody working on this out there in Telltale-land?

    Yes! What was the "glitch"?

  • For me, just the post potentially disappearing after hitting the reply button.

  • That is happening to me way to often, it said I have not posted in days when I really have been posting everyday, it sucks when it does that.

  • On the bright side, with my old avatar lost I can now have Larry constantly peering at me from the top website banner.

    Good times.

  • Will someone please tell me how private discussion works now?

    Of course.

Go to someone's profile (for example by clicking on his/her name). You have exactly one button on the left of that profile, and that's "private discussion". Click it. ;)

Your 'feed' will inform you of answers you receive... IF you happen to find the information in that litterbox... :(

During the beta, it was possible to add and remove people from that conversation at will, and that was way cooler, like your personal chat room. Huh. Now there are no options in private discussion at all... I'm wondering whether it's at least possible to set up a private conversation between more than two people somehow?!

Will someone please tell me how private discussion works now?

  • It will take some getting used to however I'm just really happy the site no longer crashes every few hours like it did before :)

During beta we discussed that it is a privacy issue if people can be added to a private conversation later on and see what was written before they were there.
I agree that it was cool in a sense, but it was confusing because it was not really private that way. I think any user in the conversation was able to add new users, which made it even worse.

You can add multiple users to a "private discussion" when you start it.
Using this link there's even no preselected user.

The 'floods' might be a bad thing, but there's nothing wrong with individuals expressing their immediate reaction that way, or is there? Only when they're opening "appreciation threads" which try to elicit exactly that kind of comments that I believe the discussion culture is going down the drain. ;)

And would you really want to vote those people down, just for vocally 'liking' the original topic? That's like a permanent mark on the forum record, and possibly a few dozen, just for e.g. offering to the developer to engage in the holy bond of matrimony. Even mods aren't that brutal! ;)

We have and had a few people with strong and not always all too popular opinions on this forum. I wouldn't want them to stop offering their alternate and mostly just as 'correct' stance just because they're afraid of receiving completely anonymous, continuously snowballing, accurately measurable rejection via the number of thumbs down they receive - and all that possibly even without anyone actually verbally challenging their opinion or trying to discuss the matter.

I really consider the system to be dangerous.

I think the +1 feature is a good way to stop flooding, even innocently, with "Yeah!" "I agree with you!" "You're totally right!" "I was going to say that!" "Will you marry me?" and so on.

  • All right, now THAT's helping! ;)

Only games purchased from the Telltale online store will show up on your "My Games" page.

I don't think thumbs down are a very good idea, which is why I only talk about the +1 on my post: the +1 may be a good idea if you have nothing more to say than "Yeah, that's I what I was thinking." I mean, when you think the opposite of what someone else is thinking, it can almost always lead to something constructive, whereas when you just plainly agree with an argumentation, don't have any more ideas to complete it but still want to say that's a good idea, there's the +1 button for that.
Again, you notice I didn't talk about the -1 function. :)

  • I don't like it at all. The new version looks like a kid made it. Colors and text that blur the whole content. It's confusing to navigate and not at all one press, find what you want. It made me angry, unlike 99.9999% of the other websites I have visited.
