Good points, but I'm guessing they don't have much more screen shots considering they only gave us like 5 in one day... Maybe they only did like 5 originally but screen shots don't matter to me, I just want more confirmation like submitting it and all, like you said...
Yeah I mean come on dude they hardly show us anything and then go tease us constantly. At the very least they could give us a few new screensh… moreots every now and again (even if they are concept) and say something like "Hey guys we sent the game in to Sony/Microsoft QA we can't promise anything because at the end of the day it's up to them but the game SHOULD be out during so and so rough estimate dates".
If you have a dog do tricks and then tease it for a treat It will eventually not do it or not care anymore.....
Selling a product before it's finished is...kinda the point of episodic gaming. Telltale offers a Season Pass for their games when only the first episode has been made because a lot of people they know that they're going to eventually buy all of the episodes anyway and would rather pay the game off in one simple transaction.
Allowing people to pre-order a Season Pass is just taking that one step further, which seems fairly reasonable in this case because Season 2 is just a continuation of Season 1. This time, it even comes with a discount and a collector's DVD so there's a lot more incentive to do it.
I suppose you could say that Telltale is "complacent" or confident that many gamers will get Season 2 because of how much they liked Season 1. Maybe they are. But you'd be hard-press to prove them wrong.
Sorry if I but in but CiscoKidd81 has a point. Why start selling a product that's not even finished? I think the problem is that TTG are compl… moreacent that many gamers will still get the game because on how the gamers responded to it last year, which I think is a bad idea.
When you read through the comments here you get the impression of TT staff sitting behind their screens, twiddling thumbs and rofling about us being desperate for the second season. Are you nuts? Every single day of production causes enormous costs, in the end TT Games is a just a company being anxious to yield a profit - they can't allow themselves to take more time than necessary. Trust me: the least they want is to stall us. They work as fast as they can, don't let the impatience fool you.
Edit: And to all the downvoters: You're complementing the picture of hardcore fans being a bunch of impatient children not able to think rationally
Did any of you ever consider they don't actually have an exact release date yet? And they are still haven't chosen and are choosing, no of cou… morerse not. Because some of you need to have more patience in life and stop trying to rush them. Let them take there time and fix bugs, I don't want another invisible character and what not.
Well, according to how Telltale chose words it looks like we will only get "news" before the end of the year. Telltale, I am disappointed. Sho… moreuldn't the actual game come out before the end of the year? I just got a very choking feeling we'll be sitting here waiting past Christmas for this bloody thing. If this is the case I'm gonna request a refund for the Season Two Season Pass as I've got other plans for Christmas and could use what I spent on this... Telltale, get down here and tell me it is just you pushing the hype before we lose all faith. Because this is really starting to get ridiculous with your immature teasing and uncertain statements. Not to mention their horrible job of keeping the making of video for the GOTY Edition "exclusive", and them mixing up the soundtrack... I can't find one track because they are all mixed together.
I experienced the delay between episode 1 and 2 as particularly unsettling, as you might remember.
We had a whole lot of new people on board for the ride; even for the Universal franchises in 2011, we didn't have such a huge influx of new members. Just like you, they didn't have the experience and therewith the trust that Telltale would deliver all episodes. The time frame actually was secondary to most people. Telltale had said within a month, and didn't deliver within a month - and also didn't say a word about the matter for a really, really long time.
I don't think something like this will repeat anytime soon. We're presently certain that Season 2 opens before Christmas. The actual real zugzwang for Telltale presently is to make a statement about episode 2 of The Wolf Among us, because we're in week 6 after ep. 1 and nothing's on the horizon yet.
Wow... Yes the delay between TWDs1 ep 1 and 2 was awful.
The first press statement on TWD S1 called for a episodic game with new episodes r… moreeleased monthly. The second press release had that deleted and every 6 to 8 weeks on new episode releases.
Honestly though the very soon back in October was a awful mistake and they seriously need to address why TTG feels the need to mislead the fanbase. TTG missed a chance to be that next level gaming company IMO. I have pretty high standards though as no gaming company is what I consider next level in my mind.
If TTG could be more honest with their news it would benefit them. In October they should have said were in mid development of episode 1 and will be working hard on it. Don't expect a sizable update until the end of November early December....
BUT no.... TTG had to promote this "BIG NEWS" BS that was literally like 4 screen shots and a 5 second game play trailer of clementine.. That big news was just news nothing more nothing less......
Exactly. No date was ever changed. "Fall 2013", the time frame which they have announced in late 2012, is still correct.
Fall ends December 21st. If Telltale releases episode 1 before that, I'd like to see some serious applause in here for the game with the least changed release date ever in the history of gaming.
they keep changing their goddamned dates
.
I just would like some info or at the very least a date for release
Well, whi… morech one is it guys? Did Telltale give you dates and change them? Or didn't give any at all? They can't both be right.
Hint: They didn't give dates, just general "fall 2013", "before Christmas" and now "end of the year". Unless it really comes out after Christmas none of these were a lie. (If it comes 2014 all of them were)
Although I do get the frustration by now. One way to go is to not be here every day and just do something else. That's what I'm doing. When it finally comes out, you get the message via email. So I'm not gonna miss it. And the frustration level (to me at least) is lower when I'm not reading other frustrated people waiting for the game.
You know we have all been waiting for so long for this game. I've been around and played the first season back when the episodes where still c… moreoming out and have been eagerly awaiting Season 2. They give all these teases and say "Coming soon" and "SOON!" to those devoted enough to stick around. I'm honestly starting to not care anymore if it comes out or not now they say "Fall 2013" to "end of the year". Can't wait for the next week or two when we get the news of "next year" can't wait and I will care less and less starting to regret even pre-ording. They could at least give us something like oh I don't know "Hey guys we've sent the game in to Sony/Microsoft QA we can't make promises but the game is for sure coming in so and so rough estimate dates" but no to the loyal fans we have to sit back and wait for the game to be released in 2 days or so to actually get anything they don't care they've got their pre-order money..... There's no preorder for the consoles of course. You can preorder on Steam with a bit of a discount, and you can preorder here in the Telltale store with discount and a Season DVD with game and bonus material after the Season ends.

Bottom line this game should have been finished, submitted to 3rd part vendors, and certified already even if TTG was waiting until day X to release the game.
That's a hell of a blanket statement. If Telltale knew they wouldn't have the workforce to complete the episode by the end of the year, they wouldn't advertise its release before Christmas late in October, don't you think?
Any project manager will tell you the very worst time for employee production is now until mid January.
I am a project manager. Says "Senior Manager" right there on my business cards. And I happen to work in an area where freelancers jump at every opportunity to get work between Christmas and New Year's, and where the only real risk is that they have too much work to do. So, not "any project manager" would approve of your statement.
All I know is our company IT deployment team just came back to the home office. That was our last deployment trip out this year. Too many empl… moreoyees request leave starting this week until the end of the year. Just about all the employees here are taking between 10 and 20 days leave that has been stock piled all year. Most US companies make employees take use or lose leave before dec 31 because the hours will not carry over.
Bottom line this game should have been finished, submitted to 3rd part vendors, and certified already even if TTG was waiting until day X to release the game.
This time of the year is very hard to get employees invested in work. Most everyone is worried about visiting Santa, find out what gifts to buy for who, finding the best deals, who is making what for the holiday meals, where the meals will be, holliday cards, ect ect.
Any project manager will tell you the very worst time for employee production is now until mid January.
Have we gotten a console announcement yet? I could care less when within the next two months it gets released, but I'm getting increasingly ticked by the lack of confirmation regarding what it's launching on. They have to know by now, and they also have to be aware we want to know, yet still they say nothing. A lot of people are going to be ticked if it's not launching for their consoles when the date is finally announced, after all this teasing and promising.

How about reading the official FAQ or at least our inoffical stickied one?
In addition to PC and Mac, The Walking Dead: Season Two will be available for Xbox 360 from the Xbox Games Store and for PlayStation 3 from the PlayStation Store. It will also be available for compatible iOS devices from the App Store. Other platforms may be announced in the future.

Facebook post on their official page, confirms we may not see season 2 till next year.
They said we'll be getting "information before the end of the year"
and they changed the release date to "Soon"

I want season 2 as much as everyone here, better today than tomorrow, but you have to see it realistically and rationally. Being bitter is pointless and it is really ridiculous making such a revolt against TT. "Later this Year", "This Fall" and "Before Christmas" they said - not a promise broken, yet.
It DOES seem particularly vague, and I got a frown from it.
Not sure if an ill phrased facebook post justifies another 'out loud' clarification from Telltale that they still intend to release the first episode before Christmas, but let's see if I can advocate such an official post a wee bit.
I just wish they would tell us where the games at rather then just say "coming soon".
I'd rather know it's only half finished then getting coming soon things all the time.
Just annoying is all.

A Project Manager Supervisor with defective patience glands?
Your co-workers must be ecstatic!
In other news, I wasn't praising anything, I was argumenting AGAINST using out-of-forum qualifications to justify blanket statements.
...And I'm a Project Manager Supervisor. Sarcasm

Yeah, kind of. We think they stall us because we have to wait which is hard. But the meaning of "stalling" is having the product but not handing it out, yet, out of vicious motives. Why would this be their intention? Of course that it is not their intention. They've been working on it for months, day and night, and as said above every hour of production costs money. They could at least tell us something...
or they're still in playtesting/bug fixing stages and don't have the heart to tell us that we're wrong..
I have a colleague who always checks his emails' spelling after sending them to the client...
...that makes as much sense, don't you think?
Before Christmas means before Christmas.
Guys, guys. I don't even see a hint of a Telltale Games company logo on that. This is comic stuff and nothing else.
What now, you of all people are "disappointed"?
I am so very surprised!
Yes, the actual games comes out before Christmas. That's what the official FAQ still says.
I experienced the delay between episode 1 and 2 as particularly unsettling, as you might remember.

I know this is a really hard concept to grasp for new people, but Telltale CAN'T give release dates until days before release.
If they could, they certainly would. Don't you think?
There's no preorder for the consoles of course. You can preorder on Steam with a bit of a discount, and you can preorder here in the Telltale store with discount and a Season DVD with game and bonus material after the Season ends.
