Well I'm just saying They should release 1st episode of The Walking Dead Season 2 before The 2nd episode of The wolf among us. we have been waiting longer!
Fables fans were waiting 2 years for TWAU.
Regardless, why does that matter? Entirely different teams handle each franchise, so if TWAU episode 2 comes out before TWD season 2, it doesn't mean that TWAU has delayed season 2.
Why do I get the feeling that when the wait for Episode 2 of TWD comes around, you'll suddenly no longer feel that "6 weeks ago" constitutes "just gave us"?
Once the first episode of a season comes out, a rough time frame of about 4-8 weeks can be established for when the next episode is supposed to come out. Given that TWAU came out on the 11th of October, they have two more weeks to release it if they want to stick to that time frame. Contrary to what some may believe, there still isn't a time frame for when Episode 1 of TWD should be released other than "before Christmas" and "fall" (which officially ends on December 21st in the Northern Hemisphere). So as of today, Telltale has 2 weeks to meet release date expectations for TWAU and 4 weeks to meet expectations for TWD. So it's a pretty safe bet that TWAU is going to come out first.
And now that I've delivered the message, feel free to open fire.
EDIT: Actually, the unofficial FAQ has 4-8 listed as the estimated time frame between episodes while the official FAQ for TWD Season 2 has 4-6 weeks as the time frame between episodes. So the release date expectation for TWAU Episode 2 is at most 2 weeks away and they may possibly already be running late at this point. So yeah.
Cool. But I still think The 1st episode of The Walking dead Season 2 is going to come out before the 2nd ep of The Wolf among us because telltale tweeted that the premiere of Season Two is coming up and I think The Walking dead season 2 should release before 2nd episode of The Wolf Among us.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that the ep 2 of TWAU is not out yet and there has been little to no news on TWDS2?
From my perspective looking in it appears that telltalegames was not up to the task releasing both games in the same time frame. The wait for TWDS2 does not bother me one bit. I'm shocked with the lack of PR campaign for it. There has been no playing dead episodes made, no teaser images.
As southpark put it in their game of thrones spoof "Winter is coming" and the only advertisement I have seen is a game of the year commercial for last years TWD S1.
Why would telltalegames start taking preorders if they were not ready to steam roll with TWDS2.. I guess I expected different is all. I expected TTG to rollout a GOTY version with some advertisement. I'm shocked that so far it has by far eclipsed the promotional information for TWDS2.
Semi-official update! A twitter conversation between Job J Stauffer, Director of PR at Telltale and a fan named STRICTLYPCGAMER:
jobjstauffer: No games launching next week, not from @telltalegames at least. See @lauraperusco for updates, I'm off all next week on a family vacation!
STRICTLYPCGAMER: So when the heck is the walking dead launching Season 2?!
jobjstauffer: it will not be this month, tracking for before the end of the year. Very busy December ahead!
STRICTLYPCGAMER: Well that kinda sucks. But you guys make great games so I'm sure it is worth the wait. Still before Xmas, Or no?
jobjstauffer: TBD and TBA!
So yeah it's not looking great. But hey, it's an update I suppose. You guys like updates, right?

I'm probably one of the only ones who would want to see how they do that . I would love to see some development videos actually, sort of like watching a programming live stream
They did give out some information. They offered the pre-order after the reveal trailer, in which they announced who the main protagonist was … moreand showed off several screenshots of the game. This isn't a brand new IP with vastly different game mechanics. Anyone who would pre-order the game has presumably already played Season 1 and should therefore know what the game is going to be like. What other information could they can give out about the game without spoiling some aspect of it?
And as for your suggestion of these 60-second videos, what exactly would you want to be in them? This being a game based around its narrative, giving away details about "game development" would require giving out details about the story. Outside of that, all you'd get is stuff like "I spent 2 hours trying to figure out how to make a zombie face look more decrepit." Not exactly thrilling news.
What is Thanksgiving? Anyway, really hope this continuation is out before Christmas. I don't like criticising, but all this 'coming soon' nonsense is starting to grate. I realise that creating a game isn't a five minute job, however some updates would be appreciated.
We have a little thing called "Thanksgiving" here in the 'States. I mean, all we really do is gather around our entire extended family and stuff ourselves with food while American football plays in the background but, damn it, it's important to us! Job's also just the PR guy so he wouldn't be contributing too much to the development process anyway.
And it's probably wise to hold off on changing anything until TBD turns into a straight-up "No." We still have about a month left and Telltale are still going to try their hardest to meet at least the Christmas deadline since that's what they told their pre-orderers. That being said, I'd definitely start dialing back release date predictions towards mid-to-late December.
...Well, better change the thread title to "Out before the end of the year". Looks like the Facebook post was right after all...
...And Telltale staff going on vacation, in the middle of this?

Craziest thing at Telltale is that it's always tricky to convey to our fans and to folks in the media that we really are in 'live development.' That usually means there's almost nothing to show until very, VERY close to launch. On top of that, our episodes are more or less just two hours long (give or take) and it's INCREDIBLY hard to show much of our episodes until we launch, considering the spoilers.
We previewed half of The Wolf Among Us premiere episode in late summer, and that's more to give people a taste of a brand new series. Even then, we BEGGED previewers not to spoil the mid-episode reveal. For Walking Dead, we think people largely already understand what the series is all about, and frankly, after playing it this week, safe to say that it is CHOCK FULL of spoilers that no one could possibly 'preview.'
...same goes for episode two of Wolf.
I'd suspect that soon after Thanksgiving we'll be back with more to say about them, maybe a 'little' more to show, just before you'll be playing again!
Pretty much just reiterates what a lot of us here on the board have been trying to tell people about why they don't show us anything about Season 2 and adds a promise of news to come post-Thanksgiving.
More from Stauffer. This time his Facebook.

If I'm honest, all the waiting is starting to get a little boring.
The anticipation did build to start with but I feel like it is peaking now a little bit and I'm worried after that, it might just be downhill
I've checked back here almost every day since finishing TWAU in anticipation of a little bit of release news on either of TWAU or TWD S2 and still there has been nothing. Yeah, I've seen TWD S2 trailer. Great.
And I appreciate the nature of the episodic games means that any news is always last minute but doesn't the constant wait just prove that episodic games are just... well... better bought at the end of the season and played as a whole? All money-making, build-up frenzy aside. (New GOTY edition bundled with 400 days DLC is a fine example of why it would be worth waiting).
The Walking Dead S1 feels like a looooong time ago!
To Telltale
If doing two games at the same time is too taxing on resources then just admit that you can't do it - hiring more staff could have been done before you started the projects, not halfway through.
If releasing two episodic games alternately/simultaneously is too difficult, then admit that too and just don't it.
I would prefer you work on them one at a time or together in private over 12 months, so that you can release monthly without fail, rather than say it's going to be monthly, find that you can't do it and then put back release dates over and over again.
And if you are working on, for example, ep2 and ep3 of a series at one time surely you should just do them all and then release periodicly.
People would still have the crazy anticipation for each episode as they do now.
I have no doubt the games will be great but I'm just starting to feel... ya know...

A little tip for everyone: Walking Dead will not come out November so we dont need to check this week. We should all wait for the day after Thanksgiving and spend some time with our family. In the end family is all that matters.

Looks like December 3rd it is then.... They'll probably announce something the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) or that Sunday since the show goes on it's mid season break then.
Wow. So TTG employees can tell the actual truth and not some BS coming soon nonsense.
Why could that have not been posted in the forum? I prefer the honest approach.
BTW my guess was dec 3rd and everyone thumbed me down. I still would not count on that though. I think this game is closer to getting bumped to 2014 then anyone wants to believe.
The employees of TTG arent lying to us. It takes time to make two great games. We can be happy that TTG is even making this fuckin awesome games (sorry my language)!

People treat others as they are treated. Most joined the forum for updates. When your told things like soon with no updates fit weeks folks of her crazy. Posting actual news in the forum would calm people down.

So there's no November release date at all. Well, I guess it's only us that assumed that it will be released this November. Though, I think we made an impact for them telling us an update.
I do. And so did Vainamoinen. See, he understood that your statement was clearly sarcastic (anyone would have even without your little note), but then went on to use that premise as a basis to make a sly sarcastic jab at your demonstrated lack of patience.
You apparently took that to mean that he didn't understand your sarcasm and falsely accused him of such, which ironically undermines your grasp of sarcasm. And that's what people are pointing out. No big deal. Happens to the best of us.

Maybe is right what kenny said that they are working on the wolf among us and with TWD S2 toghether and thats why they are taking so long
i think they will release it on 29.11.2013 or the next week friday after that

Why aren't they commenting on the console debate? At least some of them have to be aware of it, but no one is saying anything.
