What's your Favorite TTG Game?
I've played The Walking Dead Season 1 and I played Episode 1 of A Wolf Among Us. I am wanting to play more games by TellTale, but I don't know where to start, so I am looking for recommendations. Excluding The Walking Dead and A Wolf Among Us, what are your top 3 favorite games?

I never really played much TellTale games. This thread might help introducing me into some.
I never played poker, though I am very interested in Poker Night 2 - I mean hello? It's GLaDOS! Is it true that it is very repetitive after 2 hours playing?
Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us ofcourse! I've also been wanting to try out Jurassic Park but that game doesn't seem to good if you look at all the reviews, so I'd only get it if it's really cheap in a sale or something.
Sam and Max does look good. Did the series end with season 3 or is it still going to be continued?
No need to exclude anything. My three favorite Telltale games are Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, Tales of Monkey Island and The Devil's Playhouse, with Sam & Max Season Two and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People close behind.
I've been on the fence about the Jurassic Park game. I love Jurassic Park, but the reviews are mixed. I would probable pick it up on sale, like you said.
Do the Wallace and Gromit games need to be played in order or are they stand alones?

Though I really liked the Sam and Max series,especially for it's humor and since I really suck at poker,I'd say that The Wolf among Us is my absolute favorite of the bunch so far. Even though it's just one Episode (for now),I can tell that this will be a great game. Concerning The Walking Dead: I'm not a big fan of the show and although I've heard nothing but good things about the game, I don't think I will give it a try anytime soon.

I really enjoyed The Walking Dead and the emotion that was put into making it, but just one episode of The Wolf Among Us has knocked it right out of the park in my opinion. They did so well this this, that I'd have to name it as my favorite game from TellTale.

Personally, I never heard of TTG til TWD episode 1 when I saw a play through on youtube. I only watched about the first 10-15mins (til the babysitter in Clem's house) then immediately bought it. I have browsed a few other titles afterwards like Back to the Future and Jurassic park but they didnt interest me at all. Same with TWAU. I peeked at it but never had any interest in it. I cant say anything bad about the other games, they just never appealed to me. I would suggest looking at some play throughs and see what catches your interest rather than accepting the opinion of someone else who may love a game you do not.

I always have been a huge fan of Monkey Island since the first game. So Tales of Monkey Island and TWD too!
TWAU has potential to being better than TWD, in my opinion. Check out the first 10 mins or so on Youtube.

TWD is the first of that particular style. So if you're looking for something that's like that, I don't think there are games from TTG that do that. In classic adventure games I would recommend Tales Of Monkey Island and the Sam & Max series.

Poker Night 2 is pretty neat. But it does indeed get repetitve. There's only so much dialogue you can put in a game. So the standard phrases for raise, check and call get repeated pretty fast.
What's great though is that there are continuing stories, that span over several poker games. For example Ash tells about wanting to propose to his grilfriend. And some games/days later, people ask him how it went and the story gets told and it goes on from there. That's pretty cool.
The game is about the dialogue that is not poker related. And I think there isn't less of that than in an episode of any of the TTG games.
edit: I don't know how fast of a learner you are. A bit knowledge of poker is needed of course. But I don't think you can really make a mistake by buying it. It's on steam for 2,49 Euros (before Dec 3rd)

Yeah, sorry about the dual thread. It was my first post. When I created the first discussion, I didn't see it post, so I posted it again. It wasn't until later I noticed I posted it in two locations.
My absolute favorite is Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures. It captures the essence of the Wallace & Gromit shorts perfectly, the puzzles are fun (the final boss puzzles at the end are a blast), and the music is excellent (it's kicked up a notch here from their earlier releases, as Andrew Langley wrote code for the Telltale Tool to allow dynamically changing music (similar to iMuse).
My close second is Tales of Monkey Island. Like Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, the puzzles are fun (and the boss puzzle at the end of the last episode is really memorable). This one doesn't take the top spot for me, since it takes a while to hit its stride (the reuse of character models is really evident in the first few episodes and the locations are a bit sparse at times). But, the first episode is excellent, and the last three episodes are just as excellent (if not more so than the first).
The third choice is a little harder, so I'll just recommend some of my favorites. If you like quirky comedy, definitely give Sam & Max a try. Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space is my personal favorite (because of the great puzzles), but Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse has the best plot of the three seasons (and the use of psychic toys makes for some really funny jokes). I also recommend the Puzzle Agent games, because the style is so creepy but appealing (check out the Grickle shorts this game is based on to see if this style is your cup of tea). The Back to the Future games also had a great story (they were a bit uneven, puzzle wise, but the story is great (plus they got Christopher Lloyd to return as Doc, and AJ Locascio is almost a perfect Marty, plus Michael J Fox returned as a McFly ancestor in the last episode). I also really liked Jurassic Park (note that this one is almost all quick time events, so if you didn't like those in The Walking Dead, you won't like this, but if you did you'll probably like it). It tells the story of what happened to the dinosaur embryos in the first movie, and the story is pretty well done (I haven't been disappointed by a story in a Telltale game yet).

Tales of Monkey Island is a must play! The humor is brilliant, puzzles are fun and characters extremely memorable.
There's cartoon violence and some slight innuendo in some episodes, so maybe it's not for younger kids. It should be OK for older kids though (if I remember correctly, they were rated T for Teen by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board).
I think the Sam & Max episodes were rated individually, with most of them being E10+. Though if you're 11, some of the jokes are going to fly over your head.
Sam & Max is why I came here, and though I like some of Telltale's other series, that duo is my favorite.

No, I didn't play Wallace & Gromit. So I can say nothing about that. But Jennifer did that further below.
As for the Sam and Maxes: If you're willing to play all three, I would do so, since there are references to the earlier seasons in them. And they're not just little side-gags.
Speaking of individual seasons, I think the quality of the stories have been raised from season to season. So my favourite is season 3. The second is the second favourite. And the first the third favourite.
The first season is pretty tame and "normal" for S&M standards. The second one gets timetravel into it so there's extra room for absurdity there. And the third one ist just totally insane in my opinion with the psychic toys, elder gods and whatnot. But of course that's all just my opinion. So your mileage may vary.

I think TTG have said that they don't have any immediate plans for another full-length Sam and Max game, but we might see them again in other shorts like Poker Night. It's a shame because I'd buy another Sam & Max game in an instant, though I guess they don't have the same mass-market appeal as some of the other IP that TTG are working on.
I'd agree that W&G is really very good. They feel like an Aardman production, especially the animation and music. The only thing that grated on me slightly was the use of a soundalike for Wallace, but that's mitigated by them using the official Wallace back-up voice actor so it's a pretty close match. [I realise that it would have been almost impossible to get Peter Sallis in for the role given his age and other commitments]
