  • I wouldn't take it so personally.

Apparently, people would rather downvote me than actually do the useful thing by informing me of what I don't know. No yeah, this is a REAL great community we've got...

  • Sure! If the respective console stores updated on Monday that is. It would be pure PC if that came to fruition.

Maybe it's some kind of deception, good deception, that is. Expect some "discussion fodder" on Monday, then BAM! Season 2 premieres! It's a decent bet, considering it's in December.

  • I wonder if turkeys think of us as zombies. hmmm

  • Playstation Store updates on Tuesdays and XBox Live continuously, as in every day. So i reiterate: BAM! Season 2 Premiere!

  • yes! i am not the only one sick of him, it's about time someone said that. Beware though your probably about to be swarmed by kenny superfans on everything else you post from now on...

Oh for goodness' sake, not everything has to be about Kenny.

  • Or maybe we we will be lucky if we even see a screenshot. Maybe TT learned from the last "big news" not to hype up what isn't big news. Don't get me wrong, a release date, the premier, or even a trailer would be awesome, but I for one am not going to EXPECT much of anything. But I will hope of course...

  • She said dont get overexcited lol wishful thinking though

And for everyone waiting expectantly for Season Two (that's all of us here, right?)... don't get overexcited, but I think I can say that by Monday there'll be a LITTLE bit more discussion fodder to be thankful for. ;)

I hope it's The Walking Dead Season 2.

    It's our best bet.

...conversational directions I do not understand, part XVII.

It's our best bet. SHe did say "And for everyone waiting expectantly for Season Two" so it's likely.

I'd bet on a teaser for the news on Sunday, like they gave us before the reveal trailer.

  • How do you know? Did you play it? I have a pretty pessimistic expectation for season two primarily based on the fact Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin left telltale games in what appeared to be odd timing; along with knowing the fact that they were involved early in the development of season two just makes me wonder what the reason was for them to end that involvement.

The 50 minute expansion 400 days didn't give me any reason to have faith in season two and neither has telltale games considering they have lost the talent that made season one what it was, and it was a new kind of game. I always hear about them having a talent for these kinds of games even though it was the first of it's kind and we haven't seen much since. They were know by many for making some of the worst games around before The Walking Dead. I know that's not true of all their games, but you can't deny that it was a common view either. The Jurassic Park and CSI games were known for how bad they were by the general public.

In the end I know none of that shows anything about how good or bad season two will be. We are just using different things we feel give us a good idea of what to expect. I wouldn't be purchasing the first episode of season two if I knew for certain it was going to be a bad game. That's not a certainty anymore than it is that it will be an amazing game on the same level as season one. There isn't anything more substantial to make fans already act like it's a masterpiece than there is to feel it may very well be crap. We all have the same info about the actual game, which is next to nothing, and it's dumb to be treating our expectations as facts at this point.

The Walking Dead season 2 is going to be amazing.

  • They'll be far too stuffed with turkey to even consider tweeting.

  • That other poorly rated(although I haven't tried it yet), The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is 50% off on Xbox live in the current deal of the week. Maybe they are using it get people thinking of TWD franchise before the telltale game. That's meaningless speculation of course, but that's most of what we post here. I just repeat the same things a little differently while ranting over and over, while others demand release dates or pick one themselves based on nothing while arguing and complaining about random dislikes of post as if's it's the most insulting thing they have ever seen lol. I do understand that my post are just as pointless though. lol

I do want to give that other TWD game a try when it's cheap enough. I've enjoyed a lot of games that would have been crappy had I paid much for them. The Xbox "deal" giving you 50% off of it gets the price down to just a little higher than what you can pick it up a GameStop for just to let know.

  • The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is not worth a penny. Don't bother, even if it's on a sale.

    I have a pretty pessimistic expectation for season two primarily based on the fact Sean Vanaman and Jake Rodkin left telltale games in what appeared to be odd timing;

They left at a time when Telltale DIDN'T have any Seasons running. I don't see anything 'odd' with it, quite the contrary. Had they left mid Season, THAT would have been a bit weird.

But while they certainly really shaped the Walking Dead game experience for Season 1, Telltale not only has some excellent writers left, but they also routinely change the main writer from episode to episode of a given Season, and have been for many years. It's really sad having seen Jake and Sean off to new shores, but there's nothing odd with their departure.

They just want to make a different kind of game. Nothing has leaked yet as to what type of game that is, but if I had to make a guess as to the central reason why Telltale's model just wasn't their vision any more, I'd say it was that their writing was always tied to the rules of pre-existing franchises instead of their own. I believe they rather want to create worlds from the ground up, not do whatever IP is hip at the moment.

    ...I can respect that. ;)

Friday release Xbox/PC indeed seems to be more likely for first episodes. Judging from TWaU and Season 1, that is.

Might be an agreement with Microsoft to at least release ep1 on their console first, but that is purest speculation.

The reason why they didn't show much in the trailer is because they didn't want to spoil anything

  • That's a fair point, I usually check IGN but I have a feeling that I went with steam because I wanted to, blinded by my love for this game I suppose, oh well it looks like I'll have to just do something else until it's out when it's out, that's what I began to do with the last series, play and then realise it's out when I see it on Xbox live. : )

  • It's a lot easier to tease any other game as opposed to this which choice changes things. Teasing Mortal Kombat is a lil easier for example, here are all the fighters and the various maps you fight on VS Here's Clem, here Clem arguing with soandso, and fighting with another soandso.

That's why it's called a "reveal" trailer. What you're looking for, the full-fleged "launch" trailer which actually shows about 95% in-game moments, will come later.

If you didn't already know, Sean Vanaman wrote one of the stories for 400 Days before he left.

Also, it seems a bit melodramatic to infer Telltale creates "the worst games around" from a few mediocre titles. Sure, Jurassic Park had little gameplay and the CSI games were side projects from Telltale's old days, but I'd hardly say those games define Telltale overall. Even before Walking Dead put Telltale into the mainstream spotlight, Telltale still made plenty of popular titles such as Sam and Max, Tales of Monkey Island, Strong Bad, etc. Considering that there are developers that release massively bugged/unfinished games or even go as far as to blatantly lie about features to consumers, it seems a bit hyperbolic to infer Walking Dead was Telltale's only saving grace because of a small handful of other titles.
