Sad because telltale won't give us a release date for Season 2

  • I think getting some news next week should be a safe bet if the rumored release date of the 17th is true.

Telltale usually likes to share a lot more info when they are close to a game/episode release.

  • TT hasn't released TWD, yet - I am not dissappinted and try to be patient.

TT delays the 2nd ep. Of TWAU (3-month gap!) - I still try to stay calm and relax.

But for now I am really pissed: GoT and Borderlands? Seriously?! I know it's a popular franchise - good for you - but it is just so dissapointing there will be nothing to play for me after TWD and TWAU. I am a female gamer and have no problems with gore, violence and stuff, but I do hate Fantasy-stuff like Lord of the rings with medieval atmosphere, and Borderlands hasn't convinced me as well. I really hope I am so wrong and TT is going to make the best out of these franchises, especially for female gamers with emphasis on the story rather than medieval wars and sci-fi-shootings.

I feel exactly the same. Never been a huge fan to medieval warfare and this sci-fi shooter Borderlands, or whatever it is...

I'm only here for The Walking Dead: Season Two, and The Wolf Among Us, unless Telltale cancel one of the new confirmed titles and come up with something better. And I hope this plans of theirs won't conflict with The Walking Dead, as it already seems to have with The Wolf Among Us.

People here try to calm us down saying "GoT and Borderlands won't interfere with TWAU and TWD as TT finishes the current games before beginning with the developement of the new licenses". What contradicts with this theory is the fact they already revealed teaser videos which means they've actually begun working on it. Especially the Borderlands teaser shows they've been working on the surroundings and character design. At this point I truly believe the work on these two announcements to be made on VGX are responsible for the delayed releases as well as the lack of information (they couldn't tell us the delay is due to the announcement of two new franchises as it was supposed to be a surprise - a bad surprise might I add).

They are not trying to. TWD and TWAU are happening now, TfmB and GoT are going to happen probably in late 2014.
    Calm your tits, ppl!

They are NOT going to handle four games... I mean look at the poor support with TWAU.

If we only could set up a poll, and I assure you the majority of both female and male gamers rather would have Telltle only focus on The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us under the circumstances.

This isn't true. You're right: fantasy settings are not exclusive to male gamers, but I've noticed in my circle of friends and acquaintances there is more affection for this genre by male people (I have two female friends who enjoy fantasy, though. They are both goths). I can just make a guess where the aversion for this genre by female players might come from:

    1. The grungy and cold environment
    2. Many battles with an unclear amount of fighters
    3. Most important reason: Male characters are more dominant and play an active and major role compared to female characters which are mostly passive and reduced to their looks (at least this is the way it used to be in middle ages). Women feel like they don't have much influence aside from the fact they can use their body, which has a negative vibe)

I know GOT deals more with character interactions and that there are lots of female characters which explains the femsle audience. I just hope TT can manage to make it enjoyable for everyone with the use of strong female characters.

That's not what I'm talking about cause I agree with that. What I'm saying is that to me she makes it sound like there are no female gamers that like sci-fi or midieval fantasy games in general. So from other companies, not TT.

My BFF plays the shit out of the Borderlands games, craves for the next Ice and Fire book, counts Braveheart among her favorite movies.

Oh, and she simply LOVES the zombie stuff. She couldn't be less interested in The Walking Dead though... :(

Let's not make too hasty assumptions about what franchises cater to what gender. We have a new millenium and these borders are quickly dissolving.

And why are you even getting so many downvotes for this?

...And my friend circle of females are the complete opposite. They adore Telltale and games like The Walking Dead, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls. Thise strong well written emotional stories. They would never open up a fast-action, shooting, sci-fi, or any game that involves shooting and killing for fun.

Yeah, let's not make too hasty on assumptions...

  • IMHO telltale games sold the very last ounce of small game company they had left.

Over the last couple years the episodic gaming from TTG has been newsworthy but the turnaround between episodes has been awful.

  • I just played trough season one like two times already, can't wait

  • That's nothing. :P

Played it more than ten times while waiting for Season Two.

  • They don't seem to have much going with GoT at the moment, but they've definitely begun work on Borderlands.

There's apparently already a "Tales from the Borderlands Team" that includes Harrison Pink, who was one of the lead designers for TWD, and Nick Herman, who's was one of the directors/cinematic artists for TWD.

So some of the creative talent is being sapped by one of these new projects. I don't know if this is indeed the cause of the delay with TWAU, but it's clear that Telltale has a lot on their plate right now and really needs to plan things out a lot better than they've been doing.

I don't know about you, but yesterday night I lost completely all fate in Telltale Games as my former favorite game developer. I'm well aware that nothing should be said about The Walking Dead: Season Two during the VGX show, but what made me angry is that Telltale shows up and starts talking about two entirely new games we don't know anything about. A big slap in our faces. And still they say nothing about The Walking Dead which is probably the most anticipated game this month. What makes me annoyed is that they take other things ahead of our favorite games, which really should be addressed before anything else under the circumstances. We're not interested in knowing about games that apparently will be released later in 2014, what is important right now is the game we waited for a whole year. Telltale, get your priorities straight...

And don't get me started on their ways to advertise new games. We're fed up with their poor communication with us, the customers. I understand clearly that they can't give out any dates until a few days before the release date. But what stops them from keeping us updated, talking to us? Do Telltale's entire PR team only consist of one single member, which is @puzzlebox ? At least she try to come down to our level from time to time and chat with us. Telltale seems extremely understaffed, which makes me extremely worried about how they will manage to release both The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us, along planning Game of Thrones and Borderlands... I mean, watch their poor release of the second episode of The Wolf Among Us... I assure you if Tellale put up a poll on what we'd rather have, we'd vote on Telltale only focusing on The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us until they're DONE. I'm fine with Telltale planning their future, but just... Get your games done before slapping us in the face.

I know we probably and very likely will get The Walking Dead in the upcoming two weeks, but then I'll say "it's about bloody time". The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us will be the last games I buy from this developer if they don't improve.

I agree 100 percent. I mean, I'm a big GoT fan and I really liked Borderlands 2, but I'd MUCH rather play through TWD S2 and TWaU first. It's a big slap to our faces showing 2 other new games who a lot of us could give two shits about rather than showing TWD S2 or TWau, the two games they know we're all waiting for more info on. This is ridiculous.

  • Steam support said that they already have the first episode on their servers and that they will unlock it on 17 december. They have the date from Telltale Games so the date is correct. The game will unlock in approximately 1 week, 2 days and 4 hours.

  • Where did you see them saying "we have it on our servers"? Could you provide a link? :)

  • I know we are all waiting for news. I think TellTale did a great job with GoT and TftB. I will never loose faith in TellTale cause i believe in them. You all should be happy to get 2 more great games with TellTale Style. Just sayin...

P.S. Didnt they say early next week we will get some updates on TWDs2?

They did, and I'm very happy with that. Still it feels like a slap in the face for most of us who have been waiting for The Walking Dead: Season Two for a year, when they skip The Walking Dead, and put other news ahead of it. In my opinion the The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us fans deserve better under the circumstances.

    #ShotsFired Fredde. I completely agree.

  • What i think its that is ok of them planning new games for the future for when TWD and TWAU will end , cause their trying to grow as a company after their success etc , But im totally agreeing with you that they should do that only after they manage to handle this two games that out , and if they have problembs with them ( which is why there's a delay ) they should work on their problems first , cause people are already paid and are waiting for this games for WAY TOO LONG !!

  • They should indeed deal with their present problems before trying to start up new projects.

    Common sense, right?
