Possibility: Lee Cameo Appearence at some Point?

edited January 2014 in The Walking Dead

Anyone else think Lee is going to make an appearance via hallucination or dream? I don't think the season would be complete without one. Talking to Lee as Clemintine would probably be the big emotional point of the series. Hope you kept his picture. Would be perfect if he was like the Stranger and judged Clemintine on how she acted throughout the season like the Stranger did to Lee last time.

Judging on how you played as Lee is what determines if he's disgusted or proud of Clemintine. I hope Telltale could make something like that work better than me, cause I have no clue.

Tell me how you think this would go. What Clem would say...what an NPC Lee would say...

Just saying, if I see Lee at all, I will cry (Clem probably will too.)
Thoughts, opinions, hate?

  • I think maybe we'll have some kind of dream or something. Maybe we will find out in episode two in maybe a couple months good suggestion though.

  • I just hope they don't pull the same crud where all three choices produce the same dialogue about Lee. A little unfair. I would like a full blown conversation where Clemintine lets the memory of Lee go, or what not.

    Something like that; thanks though.

Lee: I should've never trusted you with Omid & Christa. Sigh...

  • I was thinking he might turn up in some sort of flashbacks, taking place during the three-month timeskip between episode 1 and 2. Your thought on how it could turn out is also a sound one. Either way yes, I have a feeling we'll see Lee once more.

And even if we don't, at least he's still the one saying; "Previously on The Walking Dead."

  • Heck no. I'm just thinking burning the photo should have reprecussions down the road. I would never do that.

  • Him saying "Previously...etc" really is a nice touch.

i think it would be really cool if Lee appeared in Clementine's hallucinations just like daryl saw merle in the TV show in season 2. Clem would be wounded or something and she would see Lee, who would, depending or your choices, be either supportive and telling you not to give up or a bit more like Merle in the show, taunting and stuff like that

  • I would die with geekiness...

  • I always imagine we'll get the the "I thought you were dead" part in episode 2 and it'll show Lee, and then Clem will startle awake. I think that would be the absolute best way Telltale could fuck with us.

  • With no malice intended, there have already been a few threads about this.

  • It won't let you burn the photo

  • That would piss off so many people I think it would be a really bad move by ttg

  • I could see a whole episode dedicated to Lee. Episode 4 would be the best where Clem has a dream but we don't know that shes having one. Lee shows up and saves clem from walkers and there hugging and clems crying and Lee seems real to her. If you've see fight club or played BO2 campaign its similar to that where Lee comes and goes and only appears when Clem is alone. Only until the end do you realize the subtle hints they gave you that it wasn't real.

  • I didn't even notice that!

  • Subtle hints... like the hint that my Clem shot him in the face? I do like the idea of his visions coming and going when she is alone, like she is talking to herself and him etc etc.

  • Dream sequences are usually awfully difficult to pull off, I don't think I've ever seen a game did it well except for Far Cry 3.
That said, I'd welcome zombie Lee to make an appearance.

  • If they showed a zombie Lee I would honestly stop playing at that exact moment, that being said there is a big difference between a dream figure and a hallucinated one. I think they could pull off the latter.

  • At most I'd want a brief hallucination or dream kind of like when Lee dreamed about Clem eating him in S1.

    Shouldn't be a prominent thing.

  • Lee: I'm waiting for you Clem, step into the light.

  • I agree, it shouldn't be an every time she is alone thing, but it should be at unexpected, irregular moments where talking to Lee could have real repercussions on Clem's personality.

  • What about the short dream sequence in season 1? I think it was in episode 3. The one where Lee dreams that Clementine turns into a walker and attacks him. It was pretty surprising.

  • Would be cool to switch back to playing as young-er Clemintine for an episode.

Anyone here think that it might be possible that Lee is still alive? Like if you picked a certain sequence of choices or something? In my game Lee had Christa cut his arm off and Clem leave him handcuffed to the radiator (not shoot him in the head). Now that I think about it, even if you shoot Lee, they didn't actually SHOW the shot hitting him, but then that might have just been a style choice or something. Removing the limb that was bitten by a zombie usually will stop the infection from spreading, at least according to the comics it does (maybe they changed this, maybe not?), so there's a good chance that if Lee was left alive then he wouldn't have turned. Whether or not he bleed-out on the other hand might be a different story (this would be another reason for him to be looking so pale and weak at the end of ep.5, if we hypothetically rule out infection).

I'm probably just reaching at straws here, as Walking Dead has never been one to shy away from killing of it's characters, but just for the sake of argument, what does everyone else think? Is there a chance that Lee's still alive, would this be great news or would you see this as more of a cop out than a twist?

  • Or Lee :3
