I'm not sure the number of people upvoting the comment was to be expected on the Kenny support thread, however
Almost all people posting here are saying positive things. Furthermore, whenever someone says a negative thing, they get downvoted to an absurd degree.
Most people just saw the word 'friend' and hit the like button.
I'm not too surprised by the number of upvotes. It think there are a fair number of people on here who either don't care very much for Kenny o… morer do but acknowledge how easily Kenny can turn on you if you don't support him is the exact right way. I am surprised at the relatively low number of downvotes, though, but I guess a lot of staunch Kenny fanatics might have just brushed this comment off.
"Fair weather friend" may be a bit of simplistic, since the guy does have a sense of duty and loyalty, but those are still VERY largely dependent on circumstances. Kenny's nature is basically "Will die for you if he gets what he wants from your friendship with him, will leave you for the walkers if you rub him the wrong way." He might not seem that fickle over the course of a single playthrough, but if we compare his behavior across multiple ones, it becomes clear that it takes very little for him to turn from a cool bro to a complete douche.

Well, officially speaking, this is just the Kenny thread. Anyone who has strong feelings towards Kenny of any kind, be they negative or positive, will flock to this thread. But yeah, the vast majority will be positive.
I think when someone says purely negative things about Kenny, they get downvoted to an absurd degree. My comments about Kenny have largely leaned towards the negative side but there's always a bit of ambivalence in what I post.
I don't know if people necessarily misunderstood what I meant by "fair weather friend," although it is certainly possible. Or it might just be because it has a slightly more of a positive connotation to it than "fickle."
Or people just think I'm a cool guy. That too is a possibility.

Lets say Kenny is the one that Clem is talking about when she says "I thought you were dead"...If it ends up being him, do you think he will reveal all thats happened to him since we last saw him? Do you think he will tell Clem what happened after the Ben/Christa incident (possible flashback?), will he maybe tell her where he's been the last 16-24 months? Or do you think he will give a short, non-detailed explanation of his long absence?

He'll probably describe how he managed to escape, then just say that he met up with the group he's currently with and began heading north when they heard about Wellington, or some such.

I really think a detailed explanation will be needed, i highly doubt people will be very happy if Kenny says:"Who cares? I'm still alive aren't i?" So yeah, we will definitely get some dialogue or maybe a potential flashback if he survived.

Indeed, if we don't get a good explanation and while he is telling Clementine how it went down we get a flashback and see it from Kenny's point of view. Like a story on how he escaped the alley or the building depending on what scene got played in episode 5, how he then went from being all alone and bring himself up north and find a new group.
I think this whole story can have a lot of potential, and how we can see Kenny involve into a different person or how he struggles to be the same man.
Maybe Telltale even makes us play the story, like a short part of the episode is us playing Kenny and getting him up north to meet the new group and so on until he meets Clementine.
That would be something that i'd like to play, but i highly doubt Telltale will spend that much time making a new playable character only for the sake of filling the gaps in the story while maintaining the experience of playing through it. But we never know people, we just have to sit tight until episode 2 arrives.

Yeah, exactly. Get out of the clusterfuck situation, gather your senses, remember to move north, meet up with a group, reason with them and then meet Clementine. The travel parts and after the introduction with the group it could just be time jumps with months and weeks. I'm getting all excited in my mind already.

To those who disliked this comment, I direct you to the first page of this thread where I set forth an experiment where I would see how many p… moreeople would dislike that comment compared to the first comment of the thread.
The likes and dislikes are much different to the first comment, even though they say the same thing, which shows that people didn't understand what was meant by a 'fair weather friends'. Thanks for participating
I really like the way you think:) I do hope TT will pull something at the very least similar to this. Although i can't stop thinking that they will pull a massive troll on us, i dunno.... We will just have to wait and see.

I think it'd be cool if, IF Kenny is alive and all that. When he starts to explain how he made it this far, the screen goes black then you find yourself in Kenny's shoes a few seconds before Ben/Christa event, then you play as him getting out of this mess. It would be a great opportunity to tell a good chunk of story AND at the same time make the player actually play, and not just listen. Though just listening would probably add a bit of dramatic effect, aka you couldn't do anything yourself and he had to do it all by himself, I know I'd feel sorry and powerless to hear his hardships while I couldn't do anything to help him with my Lee...
Whatever they do, I hope that they'll explain how it got that way. Everyone loves those "bad events tales told by the one who survived it", I know right ?
Indeed, i have trust in TT and all, they usually makes great choices but if it's not Kenny or Lilly that is this "I thought you were dead" person i'm seriously gonna be disappointed. The problem is not that it isn't them, really. The problem would be that we never knew what happened to those quite so big characters and TT teasing us with that line would just be frustrating otherwise.

A flashback sequence would be great. A player-controlled flashback sequence (like someone else suggested)? Fuckin' badass.
For example, I'd love to see the theory about that "secret door" in the Stranger's room finally bear fruit...
That's just what i was thinking when i wrote what i did the other day, just above here. Seeing it will be dramatic, but playing it will kind of be like a better experience and giving you more of an understanding of the situation.

We will rise once more in A New Day, and rebuild our community from Amid The Ruins. Not even if it takes more than 400 Days, as there will be a Long Road Ahead of us, yet we will succeed in our quest of expelling the trolls In Harm's Way.
Yeah but don't worry it will be A New Day before the trolls would be Starved for Help because of us, but its a Long Road Ahead to take them do… morewn since they're Around Every Corner, but since they got No Time Left they've got to live in less than 400 Days. Once they're down we would be left of All That Remains because of A House Divided started by these trolls. At least we got rid of them In Harm's Way which left our community Amid The Ruins because there was No Going Back.
The thread is mostly the same people commenting from page one up to here, and relative upvoting and downvoting has remained consistent for Pro-Kenny and Anti-Kenny comments.
Thus it is likely that the viewership hasn't changed that much.
Kenny's exact words were, "You stick it out as long as you can", he even said he was against suicide and that he was Christian. Why would he want to kill himself moments after saying that?
Actually as I said he could have shot Ben and left with Lee. Clearly, and I say clearly because I assume everyone saw the obvious, Ben and Ken… moreny didn't have a great relationship. Kenny blamed Ben for the death of his wife and kid. When Ben flipped on him in the backyard Kenny saw that he was wrong and didn't look at things from Bens perspective. Bens biggest fear (stated multiple times) was being eaten by zombies. Kenny wanted to sacrifice his life knowing that he did something heroic so he locked himself in and the last thing he did was certainly a positive.
It's not like they were long time group members, Kenny probably viewed them as some folk that were just tagging along. We knew them for what, … morea day? I didn't really view them as solidified members of the group but your right that leaving Omid would of been a dick move.
Something like that, yeah. The eyepatch from 4th bottom pic always adds a nice touch, but it's been done in the series earlier so i doubt telltale wants to go there.

Hah well not in my case I think
I've always wanted to avoid agreeing with my husband every time; that would just be boring

I think a short one, If anything I think they would let us fill in the gaps. Though I would love to know

Thats an awesome idea tho It wouldn't even have to be a big part of the episode. I would literally be good with like 5-10 minutes or something.

What's the thread?
I'm thinking a flashback, possibly one with the player controlling Kenny for a few minutes.
If not, then just at some point, they'll sit down and talk, and Kenny will explain it.

Lol thanks

Alive? Definitely. His whole "death scene" was waaay too shady for him to be confirmed dead.
Is he the mysterious "I thought you were dead person."? Hopefully, i'd hate to see Telltale throw away an opportunity like this, but you never know.

12 hours but more or less you're right
Wait Carlos is a doctor he can....... nvm
Bottom left picture, I think that how he is going to look like if he appears in episode 2
