I think both are alive, but I suppose I'd prefer Kenny, even though both might be beneficial to Clementine. Kenny seems the most interesting choice though, also I don't know why Clementine would assume Lily dead.

From a thematic point of view, Lilly. For me Kenny's story arc ended in that alley, and I still don't think there's a satisfying explanation for him being able to make it out of there.
I'm still holding out for Christa to return for a full-time role though.

Not a huge fan of either of them but for the sake of an interesting story, I would lean a bit more towards Lilly. It would depend on the characters that they've become over the timeskip, though.
From what I saw of them in Season 1, Lilly would be the more interesting character to bring back because even though Clem knows her, she's proven to be extremely untrustworthy and unstable in the past. Bringing her back would keep me on edge a lot more than Kenny, who, while a jackass at times, has shown in his last scene of S1 that he can care about people other than himself and his family. I would especially be interested in a "redeemed" Lilly who at least tries to be more of a decent person than she was before.
Kenny, though, might have also had an interesting character development over the past few years. If Kenny were to come back, I would want to see him drastically changed in some way. Maybe he's a bit off his rocker. Maybe he's grown more cold and calculating than he was before. Maybe he doesn't have his mustache. Something.
So basically, I would be fine with either Kenny or Lilly back, so long as they're no longer entirely themselves
Lilly for returning, Kenny got a chance for redemption (in my story at least) so i think Lilly should have one too, or at least attempt one. Leaving a character on such a hated note is never a good thing.
I remember Omid was killed within the first 10 minutes of the episode so I'm fairly confident it wasnt him. Christa is a possibility. We never saw her fate. Same with Lily and Kenny.

I agree, but I think its lily because if you imagine a fort let's say with survivors, I could see Lily forming and leading that. I guess Kenny could to, but my gut say's Lily!
Lilly. Kenny was my favorite character aside from Lee in season 1, but Lilly would definitely be better.

Lilly seemed to be pretty unstable last time we seen her. Then again, so was Kenny, but atleast Kenny was trustworthy.
No doubt i would want Kenny to return, i would be hesitant to trust Lilly if she does return, dispite the situation.
Though, I must admit, i wonder how Lilly would get along with Rebecca, might be entertaining.

I find it more believable that Kenny survived the darkened building than the alley. Unless he found a manhole under Ben's body or something. I considered maybe having either of them return depending on how they were lost, but then I realized TTG wouild need to make them both have the same storyline in S2 or the branching storylines would be too complicated.

How about both? Kenny because his death wasn't exactly clarified and he was the 3rd most important character in season one, Lilly because....well, being honest i hated Lilly but we need something to know how her story ends.
