What if clementine dies?

  • I dunno I mean it would crush loads of us seeing her go out like Lee did and all but it would be too predictable I guess but if she lives through the season, most of us will crave a different story like if they explored the end of humanity in other countries but then you will wonder how choices will be implemented through there so I guess this will be the last season for a while no doubt we might have bits of DLC like 400 days but in smaller bites giving us an expanded sight of both Lee's teachings affecting Clem which then affects others

  • I don't know.
You're average fan has read TONS of comics of the same survivors with a specific will NOT to abandon them.

  • I think this is Clementine's story and how she grows up to be a badass survivor. From the beginning we teach her how to survive in a world gone to hell and how to be strong when things seem bad. In the second season we're putting those skills we learned to use. I don't think Telltale will kill her off they know a lot of people would be pissed and stop playing all together if they do and plus it would seem like a waste seeing everything she's been through and everything Lee taught her end up for nothing.

  • Haha people are idiots Lol. This is like saying If they Kill Daryl in the walking dead show they will stop watching it.

    I hope you're right.
But, I'm not just worried about them ditching her, but ending the entire series with her dead or depressed.

  • No.
Daryl is my favorite character, but not why I watch.
    Clementine is WHY I play.

Or in the comics, I had a certain favorite character whom I Ioved.
Even more than Rick and Carl.
And that character lasted long, but is dead now.
But, I am reading it BECAUSE of Rick and Carl.

  • Haha yeah that would totally suck but if they have to kill her off I hope she goes out in the most badass way and she would have to be older too. I think the ending will be sad either way I don't know how it'll end but I have a feeling it might be another tear jerker.

With Last of Us' Ending, the relief of stress made me cry.
Season 1s ending made me cry first because I lost Lee -- that was acceptable to protect Clementine.
I mean, did anyone play the game and not tell themselves they would sacrifice Lee for Clem if they had to.
But then, the last shot with Clem made me feel cheated because of her expression of Terror.
I just wanted to see her with Omid and Christa and leave it at that.
Now, they have to come up with something else.
So, we will just have to see.

  • Yeah I have faith in the team I honestly didn't think I would get attached to the characters and get so into the story but man was I surprised. I still haven't had the chance to play Last of Us but I heard it was a good game I definitely have to try it one day.

  • That's how I felt when I was playing I felt that no matter what, I had to go get Clem back and make sure she was safe and in a sense I think Lee redeemed himself at the end. Yeah when I saw that I was thinking that it WAS omid and christa but that she wasn't sure that's why she was scared. Yeah It would've been nice if it ended like that but leaving you guessing at the end seems to work better.

I only accept the guessing bit because she is in Season 2.
For the longest time, the writers refused to confirm whether or not they would ever explain the ending.
They even intentionally made the two figures Walker shadows, so that no one could have an answer from hacking the image file.
It was a good way to end a season for damn sure (minus that there was no To Be Continued)- because it caught our attention to buy the next one.
But it would not be a good complete ending to Clem's story.

Being a huge fan of Clem, I hope she doesnt die. As Palavon has said, we just need to trust what the writers are going to do. But in all honesty, it would be a massive blow for them if they did decide to kill her off. Clem makes the series. If it wasnt for her, I dont know if the game would have the same impact it has now.

  • Well the way it ended I was thinking that there was definitely going to be a sequel with Clementine in it because If it had ended with a cliffhanger like that a lot of people wouldn't had liked the ending as much and when they announced the second season it was a surprise that we were going to play as Clem I was excited and couldn't wait to start playing. Now I just want a release date for episode 2 but like you said about Telltale not explaining or confirming stuff it can get kinda annoying lol.

The theoretic that you have stated was the practicality many of us experienced with no confirmation for Clementine.
    Many of us were worried.
That is why we simply just hope, and must trust the writers' wisdom.

  • Clementine is the most beloved character of the whole series, if she dies it would be very emotional I think i would cry.... When Lee dies it made me very sad because Clementine protector and father like figure is gone now and she is all alone now in this zombie post-apocalyptic world. It gave me some comfort when i first started playing season 2 at the start when Clem is with Omid and Christa at least she found them and they are looking after her, but that didn't last when Omid dies and then scavengers/bandits invaded Clem and Christa spot.... Clementine got separated from Christa falls in the cold dark water on a raining night while escaping the 'walkers'.... at that point on she is put to the test of survival on her own, hardship. She looks for food and befriends a dog but then the dog bits her as it was very hungry you then have the choice to kill the dog (put it out of it's misery as the dog has been pushed onto a sharp object and is dying)... then her arm is some much in pain she is about to go into shock. Then strangers found her and saved her life from on coming 'walkers' she then faces the groups at this house where they are so mean to her and won't help her arm.... she then goes out and sneaks into the house to fix with her and then stitches her own arm (geez that was a horrible and stressful scene to watch, she's a very brave and smart little girl)..... It's sad but the group doesn't treat her like a child they treat her harsh and not as much protection like getting to exposed to the dangers where as that much older girl who is 15 is protected fully and doesn't get exposed to the dangers (her father makes sure of that) but Clementine is only 10 she shouldn't be exposed to this..

I think that season 2 is more like a drama (like watching a drama film) focus on Clementine how she learns to survive and stay strong in this dangerous world. I do hope she meets a nice adult in the coming episodes who is similar to Lee and protects her.

I believe this will be the last season Clementine will be in. In season 3 there will be new characters. Have anyone seen the film Pan's Labyrinth it might turn out like that, Clementine might die. It will add to the emotional to the game not all dramas are a happy ending that's the art of those films. If she does die i pretty sure i would cry...

  • Well if the writers of Telltale can make you feel worried about a character they made up then they're doing a great job! Exactly let's just hold on to that faith I'm sure She'll go through hell but Lee is rooting for Clem and Hopefully she makes it out alive.

If it is the last with her, I'm done.
If she dies I'm done with Season 1 too.
I am just going to trust them.
(Not to push it, I didn't really like Pan's Labyrinth. I couldn't get atfached to the girl enough to care. Sorry.)

  • I agree It would be a huge mistake if they kill her off. To me she's like a figure of hope through all the hell the survivors have gone through and if they see that a little girl can be strong and have faith then maybe they could do the same.

Clem is basically the heart of the Telltale's The Walking Dead. Her story is what people have become attached to, it's what fans of this series expect to experience when they play the game.

All those examples you listed wouldn't be what they were the if their main characters had been replaced by Clementine just like how Telltale's The Walking Dead wouldn't be what it has become without Clementine. She is at least in my mind essential to the story Telltale has crafted and killing her off and replacing her with someone else would be the equivalent of making Shaun of the Dead have Clementine as it's protagonist, it just wouldn't work.

If Clementine dies I would prefer Telltale's series ends instead of them just wheeling out another protagonist to replace her.

It doesn't have to depress me to make me cry.
That is a very black and white belief.
Example, I was teary at the end of Heavy Rain.
    And Last of Us.
And a little at the end of KH2.

Yes like Palavon said it doesn't need to be a depressing ending it could very well be a happy ending like Clem will go through hell this season and see a lot of bad stuff but in the end it could finally be over and she will finally get the chance to live a normal life or at least try and that could bring tears of joy.

I don't think it would be the end of telltale if they kill clementine.some of us are huge fans of telltale and personally in all of my life I didn't see any game developer as good as telltale.it would be shocking if clementine dies but I say lets trust telltale for what they are doing and if they even kill her lets be prepared for it.

An example of a possible ending quote could be:
She is with someone she grew attached to before the end, somewhere that looks peaceful.

    Inner Thought of Clementine:

"Will it stay safe. Maybe. You never know. But I'm sure as hell not giving up!" Blacken to credits.
    Leaving it at that.

    Something along those lines.
I trust them to know how to finish it best.
