Concerning Gren

edited February 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

Yes this is about people who didn't rip his arm off. WHY NOT! He is a total asshole and had it coming, not only that in ep. 2. he still is trying to act like a badass. Its just like dude, do you really want to die? I just wish you could smash his face in or something. What are you guys thinking in terms of Gren?

  • You and me both

    I hate him.

  • Hey,i enjoy proving him he's not so tough.But...I dunno.I understand him,in a way.He just wanted to protect his friends and didn't like Bigby because he didn't save Lily.I,personally, think Gren's cool.

  • What I don't understand is what Bigby could have done? He couldn't have helped Lily, remember. "When they come through the front door, through the proper connections...I turn you away." (Quote - Snow White, Ep.1) So it isn't Bigby's fault, I wish you could explain that to Gren.

  • He's cool, he's just looking out for his friends. Bigby didn't even follow up Lily's disappearance until it involved snow so you can understand why he's pissed..

  • "proper channels".And i guess he was angry not specifically at Bigby, but at the whole government.Because the system's so fucked up.And you can't really blame him.The system really IS fucked up badly. When i first played TWAU,he seemed like an asshole to me,too. But don't get me wrong!I still am on Bigby's side.Grendel could've tried to be chill. That's just the way he is,i guess. And i still stand by what i said before.

  • I kind of like Gren. I can understand his side of things and why he's angry at Bigby and the whole broken system.

  • She was reported missing! I presume the sheriff would have been notified?

  • That is the problem.It's a "broken system".And it's all Crane's fault.

  • this is all assuming crane is crane like 'snow' wasn't snow.

so imo ttg kinda goofed a bit showing us the 'glamour box' in ep2 any character acting wierd/ooc is not the real fable.

or this a clever double bluff on some of them.

I didn't do it because he is actually a pretty awesome character. Gren has every right to be angry with the way the "system" works. Even Snow White herself admitted it's flawed and ineffective. In his shoes I would have probably acted the same way towards Bigby.

  • It sure did mindfuck me.Like,i could possibly NOT be me,but someone glamoured as me.

  • I ripped his arm off and i enjoyed it because he was a total dickhead in the first episode but now that I played episode 2 I feel a little bad you know, He acts differently and is a good friend to Holly and the one he cares about but to hell with it Im sticking to my decisions

  • Gren seems like a cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.

Until someone rips his arm off

  • He was already on the ground and beaten. Why would I tear his arm for any other reason that to be cruel? Going farther at that point is just being a dick, IMO.

  • lol, yet he was still giving Bigby sh*t even without the arm. Gren has a lot of balls and I respect that.

  • I didn't rip off his arm because i was the one who punched him in the face so y'know, didn't seem right he had learnt his lesson.

  • Grendel speaks his mind when the other fables don't because they are too scared of Bigby, and honestly I don't blame them.
Grendel is mad at Bigby because he is apart of the government. Snow handles the requests like she said in episode 1 by having to turn people away when they come thro the front door. This is not Snow's fault however its just how Crane runs things. But because Bigby is the one on the street and from other's point of view - the fables don't see Crane or Snow that much they just see Bigby so he is more of a symbol to the people, and he doesn't seem to show up, yeah if I was a fable I would be pissed off too. I don't know if Crane is the real killer behind everything but if Bluebeard takes Crane's job I think things would get worse for the fables.

I'm really curious what dose Grendel do if you have pull his arm off? Is he pissed off even more?

  • I understand Gren being mad at how the system works, and it makes sense he goes after Bigby. Because Bigby is the only one who could fight him. If he fought Crane or Snow or Buffkin, he'd just be an asshole picking on people weaker than him. He knew Bigby could take it and got the chance to let off some steam he'd been building for a while.

I would have laughed really hard though if Beowulf had shown up after you tore Gren's arm off and said something like, "Oh it's easy to rip an arm off when someone else already did it." Or something snarky like that.

  • While Gren's anger toward Bigby was misplaced, it was also completely understandable, because the system is fucked and lives have been lost because of it. So while I think attacking Bigby was a dick move, I don't think he's a bad guy at heart; he looks out for people close to them, and when they get fucked over because of a screwed-up system, that pisses him off. I can totally respect that.

That's why I didn't tear off his arm.

  • He amuses me. However, He was within reason to pick at BigB. If one of your main squeezes relatives go missing, and you're trying to help them out... and you get ignored; on top of everyone else? Yeah you're 'gonna be pissed off. I ripped it off the first time. But on later reflections I reloaded and left it alone.

Yeah, I hear ya. I am not really into kicking people when they are down. He would have had to attack Snow White or something heavy to warrant that.
