  • I'm really glad I made this discussion. Its showing me that there are still some good people left on here and not all the newbies here are total assholes. wipes away tear from happiness I have my faith in this site restored, though Dildor has a point I miss the polls. Sorry if I offended some people that have just recently joined, I was kind of trying to use this discussion to test my theory and ive come to the conclusion that as this site gains more followers we will get as many good people on here as we do the bad, but that's just life.

  • You are definitely not a bitch Helloworld. your one of the people ive actually had a few good conversations with on this site, same with milo(something forget the rest) saltlick, vivalalee, omid, Hershel, bioshock (though I never see him anymore), dildor, zyphon, just to name a few. If I left out a few guys I might edit this later so nobody feels like I left them in the asshole category lol, these are just a few people that I've actually had decent in depth conversations/arguments with.

I started playing in May 2013 and I read off of the forums. I finally joined in October 2013. I remember 400 days coming out, but that's about it... I'm not a bitch, right?

  • I've joined back in December 2013 so Season 1 and 400 Days was already out, I've been lurking quite a bit before joining though.

I'm always interested in reading other people's take on things when I stumble upon such a great game like this, especially when this game is focused on the story ! Hearing other people's expectations/wishes/theories is something I appreciate... it also helps keeping me immersed in the game itself. And then one day I thought "Hell, why not join in on the fun myself ?" and voila.

The only thing I don't like about this forum is the overabundance of bots... But I guess the more famous the forum, the more bots there'll be. Otherwise I honestly think this place has some of the most level-headed people I've ever seen, capable of debating and sharing their opinions without insulting/despising someone for thinking differently, it's pretty impressive (Internet isn't exactly a debate-friendly place usually). Sure you get your usual trolls and social rejects in lack of motherly affection but compared to the number of good people they amount to nothing.

TLDR; I absolutely don't regret joining.

  • yeah I lurked around from episode 2 and finally decided to join around episode 4. And on the first discussion I ever started Gary Whitta (writer of episode 4) actually responded to it! That's the closest thing I've got to talking to a celebrity in all my 20 years of life so I owe that to this site. On a side note im tired of pretending what TLDR means so as a fellow walking dead fan could you tell me what the acronym stands for?

Oh ok. so its basically a way to summarize what you say for lazy people. Learn something new every day so I can now honestly say today was a productive day. And yes it was! At first I thought it was just a person using his name but when I found out for sure it was really him I felt like a little school girl (not in a kinky way jk) screaming from excitement on the inside. I also found out he was one of the zombies eating Ricks horse in the tv show and a writer for a movie I cant remember the name of but I know I liked the movie so yeah pretty damn cool!

  • I remember the old forums... I remember trying to go to the Spoiler Discussion forum and nothing appeared and I was so confused.

Then I saw the new forums for the first time. The thing I'll miss the most is the post counts beside your name each post, I don't have time to look at everyone's profiles lul

I really miss the old season one community. To come back on this site to see...well, many of these immature posts is...hard, to say the least.

I Joined in January 2013 not long after finishing the season 1 that i got in the steam sale, I mainly lurked at the time but the community was a lot better but you still got some annoying trolls but with the old forum you could put them on the ignore list so you couldn't see their posts, We also didn't have the upvote/downvote system which was a lot better as now if people get too many downvotes some of them get annoyed about it when it doesn't really matter, there are still good people on now but when the really bad trolls come on (like the incident with the pics) i really hate it on here.

If anyone didn't see the old forums this is what they looked like http://web.archive.org/web/20120704211920/http://www.telltalegames.com/forums

  • Thank God, I didn't had to wait for season one because when I bought my new PC it was july 2013 and after a month I found out that there is Walking Dead a telltale game series

  • Heh thanks man, you earned my like too.

  • I only joined after episode 5, but i was on here since before season 1 looking for news and seeing what decisions people made. (I never got around to making an account till recently)

I think really the people change over time, for example I think now its better than after episode 3 with all that Carley stuff. I have to admit though I miss Polls and other things you used to be able to do.

  • I joined after I preordered Season two, so I'm that asshole full of hate and I LOVE talking shit about each other's countries and races.

    Thanks for warm welcome!

I reckon that when a community adds upvotes/downvotes/likes/dislikes people stop caring about content and think more about approval.

If you want a community with thoughtout comments then remove the rating systems. If a person wants to get his message across, they don't really care if people like it or not because the point was to voice your opinion.

However if there is a rating system people will stop looking for reasonable discussion and simply go for approval. I'd call it the way of the Internet, but whatever.

But hey, I am not an idiot. I know rating systems isn't the true reason this whole page has turned into "talking shit about each others countries and race or for not having the same view as them". I'd say it is because of the mainstream attention Telltale gained. Not that I exclude myself from the list of visitors who is here because of that attention mind you, but it's inevitable that when a product is released and is so well received as TWD was people will flock to that community. Both the good kind and the bad.

The bad visitors is just simply louder than the good visitors because, depending on your view, the good people isn't spreading their spontaneous ideas and theories all over the place. This is of course written from my perspective. In the eyes of what I consider bad, the good could be what is wrong with the community to them.

I am not saying I am a good visitor, just that I at least try to think things through before I post, and that is what really matters to me in the end.

Also, if anyone's interested in discussing TWD in a more forum-y, less comment section-y environment, we need more people over at http://othertwdforum.freeforums.net/. You're welcomed to join us.

I joined on the 1st of August. Right between episode 2 and episode 3 and have been, until this forum went to sh** actively engaged in the community.
Yes OP,trust me the community now is nothing compared to the community in S1 (Episode 2-Episode 5).

People were much more mature, and there was actual adult conversations and speculation going on. Honestly at one point I actually preferred this forum over the one at MMO-Champion.

The layout was also much better then it is now (seriously, who the hell designed this?),and mods had proper tools for keeping things in order.

However, unfortunately most of members from the old community left, and have been replaced by....whatever it is we have now. ;)

  • And if you ever need a new mod you know who to call or erm message.

  • I got season 1 whenever it was for ps plus, didn't think anything of it. I was like eh, let's try this out. Afterwards I was hooked. At the time I had other games so the wait didn't bother me. I didn't join the forums until maybe a week after I completed "All That Remains"

sorry, but i don't like when people treat others like shit just because they just joined... you were here year ago? two years ago? cool, i don't care. but you feel old, you're proud of this? cool, but nobodys care.
so give us a breath, okey?
not everyone who's new is a shitty troll, u know?

I joined here about a month ago. I also found it strange that on a forum site were there are fans of Telltale's games there were many immature or very weird people. People just insult each other without any problem. Only on IGN or Youtube or any other bigger site I see this, but I don't find it strange there. Still, things will clear out over time.

  • I played the game since the initial release of episode one, but forums are generally full of well, the nicest word I can think of is assholes. So I never bothered to join until the season 2 hype when I decided I was interested in discussing the game with more people. Guess I got here at the wrong time, assuming of course I'm not seen as part of the problem, though I don't know why I would be since I haven't tried to offend anyone.
