You should never ask Telltale for a refund. Why on earth would they grant you one? Ask the stores they sell this game on, i.e. Steam, Xbox Liv… moree, PSN etc.
Also, I am not aware of TWAU promising a 4-6 weeks release schedule. If you can find such a wording, I will be sure to post this same thread in the game's discussion boards here. However, TWAU did promise an overall release date of Summer 2013, so if they miss that, you are free to get refunds.
Which, if you read why entire post, I am perfectly aware of. Long story short, usually means "more often than not". Which implies more than 50… more% of the episodes must come in that period of time i.e. 4-6 weeks. We need to wait four times. So more than 50% implies at least 3 episodes need to be on time as promised, and they have a leeway to slack up on one of them.
Steam hardly ever give refunds either, especially when it's not their fault.
As I said, people tried to do it, more legitimately, for Wolf Among Us. And they failed.
It said '4-6 weeks' on the FAQ. They then changed this to 6-8 weeks.
Wait, waiiiiit. The UNOFFICIAL FAQ was changed from 4-6 to 6-8 weeks by either Jennifer or myself. Nothing to do with Telltale.
They've said that TWaU would release periodically right from the start in the OFFICIAL FAQ.
I can't understand why you get downvoted, really.
It's one of the only comments that makes sense around here.
Of course they take holiday too, so yeah
Welcome to week SIX.
Then don't make false promises and get players hopes up. Simple as that. They could have easily said each episode will be out "between two to … morethree months from the last", but no they went for broke and said 4-6 weeks. Many people bought it because a shorter release period compared to TWDS1 was offered.
If you don't have the patience to wait for each episode to be released, then you should just wait until the whole game is out to buy it. When you buy the first episode, you are already aware there is a delay between episodes. Why get a refund when chances are you'll just re-buy the game when it's all out anyway? This is a case of patience and people severely lacking it anymore.
Unexpected things like delays happen. It's part of life. The Wolf Among Us Episode 2 I doubt Telltale expected to be delayed for so long which possibly pushed The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 2 back a little. If you read the Telltale twitter, we know TWD S2 E2 is pretty much complete. Release is imminent. And if you know Telltale, they announce the release date pretty much a few days before which leaves everyone guessing.
Remember, we're all human. To err is human. If you can't forgive someone for a mistake, then you shouldn't be forgiven for one, either. The world becomes a lot harsher when we stop forgiving each other.
They give you a rough estimate, and most of the time it's wrong. So what though? The season will be over soon enough and everyone will be focused on how great it was or what a flop it was. Have some patience people, not everything in life can provide you with instant gratification, and as the rough estimate of 4-6 weeks already tells us, TellTale is not going to be a company that does.
Telltale won't do this next season. I only fiend for there games because their isn't anything new to play...YET. What games are we playing? Ghosts? battlefield? Day Z? GTA? Theres not alot of choose from at this point but when new games start rolling out with the Xbox's and PS4's telltale will have competition and these 2 month delays won't fly. Im not saying we won't play TWD or TWUA but these 2 hour episode 2 month release will be a spec my overall gaming. Easily forgotten among the vast majority of awesome games
...Did you miss what I posted in the other thread you made about this? The "4-6 week timeframe" you are citing is a purposefully vague estimate made to educate people who are not already familiar with episodic gaming from Telltale. It is in no way meant as a "legally binding" concrete guarantee, and you are spreading misinformation.
The wording of the FAQ was more likely than not intended to serve as a vague rule of thumb (to educate people on how Telltale does episodic gaming) rather than an official, concrete guarantee.
Granted, I am only a community volunteer mod who is not directly connected to Telltale, but I don't really think you have much of a case in terms of "purely legal terms" as you put it. Since Telltale works on games live during a season, they typically work on each episode until a short time before they are released. As a matter of fact, I would imagine they try to avoid anything outside of purposefully vague estimates for this very reason.

That is fallacious math. You'd like to take that by its literal meaning, all right, let's say so does Telltale.
Going by your kind of "proof", Telltale could, for example, take a full two years for episode 2 if only they released episodes 3, 4 and 5 in the weeks following that second episode. And STILL they'd be well within the wording of the official FAQ, because "more often than not", they have released 4 to 6 weeks apart. Would you prefer this kind of release schedule?
Oh, and Telltale has said absolutely nothing about episode length. Maybe they could release four fifteen-minute episodes during the next months, out of the panic that they might not make your prescribed tight schedule... that would all be totally legally cool, wouldn't it?
Discussing the letter of the FAQ really gets you nowhere. The time frame there is a rough estimate and should, not surprisingly, be understood as a rough estimate. For this contract, there has to be trust on both sides, as there's legal leeway on both sides of course; yet if you try to fathom yours with threads number four and five and six and seven, they could definitely fathom theirs in return.
If it is an estimate it should have been stated in broad daylight as such. Intentionally misleading customers is no fair game.
Saying "usually 4-6 weeks" is NOT vague. I have proven above what it means.
Actually, that is indeed true. It would fall well-within their legal rights to do so. But then comes the question of fans not being able to take it anymore, and you never know what scorned fans might do.
All things said, it wasn't me who put Telltale in this situation. They themselves put them into this situation.
"Proof", yeah...

I was using it to illustrate the meaning/definition of "usually". Every proficient English language speaker should have already known its meaning, but I just wanted to put it out there to clear doubts.
Would you prefer they did not? Because I'm rather certain 99% of the community would love to have that estimate and are aware that that's what it is. Right now, what you're trying to teach them is "don't give an estimate". And I'd rather have it myself.

Sheesh, this is so serious sounding. What are you, their lawyer?
I wanted to take this thread seriously, sorry about that. The Wolf am… moreong Us fans have just had an actually long wait for their second episode. I don't agree with the communicative way this is handled, but I believe one central reason for the radio silence and the total lack of the word 'delay' in Telltale's PR might have to do with customers like himmatsj... after all, it's not a delay until you concede it is.
The thread needed some facts and there they are, no opinionated lawyering done. I'm not happy about all of these facts. What I would like to achieve, bluntly, is that critiques concentrated on more sensible topics. Telltale has road bumps to iron out. The release schedule is absolutely one of them. Dreaming about refunds? Not helping.
I don't know about you, but I would rather have a complete quality episode rather than a half-assed unfinished episode. If I pay for something in advanced I would rather it be completed first than on time. The games from Telltale isn't something you can treat like a beta because these are in fact not.

It's cause of All the games they want to do.. They seriously just need to focus on 1 game. Just one until it's finished then work on another one.. They are obv still to small to work on 2.
Thread is back to normal. Due to a misunderstanding, I had thought other threads were created about this as opposed to this single thread, so I had initially sunk it.
As I explained before, I still think this information is a bit off the mark, but nevertheless, I'm going to let the discussion continue since this was a misunderstanding on my part.

It's almost 8 weeks now since EP1 was released. I still honestly believe Telltale owes us wide-ranging explanations for the delay. There is no way they can go on quiet about this.
It's different if we bought episodes on a per-episode basis, but on PC there is no such avenue. Having therefore bought the full season, Telltale must be held accountable.
Think of us as investors. If delays happen, investors have every right to know what the heck's going on.
I'm still optimistic about a Feb 18th release date. Telltale usually announce the games with 5-2 days before it's release and I hope it's the same in this case as I really can't wait! But Lauraperusco twitter has confirmed that the episode is made, as she said she played it, and keeps teasing us to play 400 days for the last week. So I hope this all points to the 18th.
A game can be made up to one year before release too. It's the final bit of tweaking, bug squashing and optimizing that can take time. And we do not know how much more of that if left with regards to this game. Maybe not for PC, but they need to aggressively optimize the game fr the consoles and iPad.

Yeah I was thinking about that aswell but still she wouldn't of posted that tweet without Telltale's approval. But I'm just hoping for now that's all we can do

Well, as you say, technically. But then they should have put up as disclaimer as well saying "not including holidays" or something like that. … moreThe average person doesn't give a crap if they want to go on a holiday or not so long the episodes are here in 6 weeks.
Cheap game of the highest standard and wanna refund please people stop rushing them don't want one of my favourite games turning into battlefield bug full game. The longer the better means actually care about standard of there games and being small company they know only as good as last game

It said '4-6 weeks' on the FAQ. They then changed this to 6-8 weeks.
The fact that they said usually means that you have no chance of suing them.
Actually, if you believe so strongly it is possible, why don't you sue them right now?
If you have such a strong legal claim then you will be able to get a complete refund for yourself and many others.
Go on.
Wait, waiiiiit. The UNOFFICIAL FAQ was changed from 4-6 to 6-8 weeks by either Jennifer or myself. Nothing to do with Telltale.
They've said that TWaU would release periodically right from the start in the OFFICIAL FAQ.
See above. There are unofficial FAQs, with the thread title "unofficial FAQ", in this forum.
And there's an official FAQ on the TWaU/TWD websites.
Ah okay. I fucked up. Sorry.
...well I sure hope that it WON'T be releasing periodically, seeing as how the first period was nearly 4 months long...
EPISODE 2 CONFIRMED FOR TUESDAY
gonna take a guess and say "many people" means you.
actually, in that case you would only get $7.50, since you bought Episode 1 and there was no delay on it, and you bought the Season Pass separately.

Using Collins English Dictionary for legal arguments?
Why should you do something stupid as asking a lawyer instead?

Am I the only one that likes having two games to play? Thats why I didnt really trip out about the delay for Wolf Among Us
Telltale headquaters "Shit there onto us"

What do you mean by "Telltale won't do this next season"?
Dear OP:
Learn some patience. Learn that good things take time. Learn that there are other distractions in life.

A fan eager for Episode 2

WHAT??!! It's out on the 18th?!!!!??? AT LAST!!!!! EVERYONE ITS OUT ON THE 18TH!!!!!!
Stop being such a drama queen.
Yeah I was thinking about that aswell but still she wouldn't of posted that tweet without Telltale's approval. But I'm just hoping for now that's all we can do
Personally I like to think the average person isn't that selfinvolved.
Keyword in my post: OPTIMISTIC, HOPE etc.
Nah, too late for the 18th. Even 25th seems like a stretch now. Mid March is my guess.
Meh I hope it's the 18th.... but no one knows Sooner the better But the episode is made (Telltale's staffer on twitter).
I think I've come to a conclusion that it's "no more season passes for me". It's just too unreliable to throw away money like that.
Regardless, I still want to play the rest of the episodes.
