Turkeys are adorable! And taste great on a slice of bread! This one is more like a rubber chicken than a turkey though... un-funny, good-for-nothing and tastes bland.

  • As far as conversations go, being matured at a younger age, and having people SEE you as a child and talk to you like a child because you ARE a child are two different things. Are you going to argue that with me? They treated her like a child the entire game. Now whether or not she acts like a child, perceives the world like a child, or thinks like an adult or whatever, people you come across will SEE her as a child.
What don't you get about this?
I'm not saying its a terrible call or something by Telltale, but I am saying it COULD make the sequel inferior to the first season. Sorry if that doesn't coincide with your thoughts.

  • I'm sure that it doesn't for girls, or for that matter, the vast majority of any gender who plays games. If what you're saying were true, those games would not exist.

Well... Technically it could. There's nothing to stop Telltale from creating an alternate version of Daryl within their own Walking dead Universe. Similar to how there are 2 Ricks. One in the AMC Universe, and one in the Telltale/Skybound Universe.

The question, is why would they do that? Would it move the story forward at all, or would it be a massive piece of fan service.

I mean, if there was a reason to have Daryl in the game, I'd be okay with it, if not, then I'd honestly be disappointed.

Daryl is TV only. It wouldn't work.

  • A male counterpart of Clementine would be nothing like Carl, in both the Show and Comics he is an incredibly different character from Clementine.

    You just made my day.

  • Well, it DID show up in my feed as a reply to my post, so that is something.

Not sure who necroed this thread, but I do have to add something concerning EA's statistics about the percentage of female shepard players... advertising bias.

  • It's such a shame now that whenever I hear "Bioware" the first thing that pop's in my head is they made the worst game ending since Polybius.
I used to love Mass effect, ahh the nostalgia....

  • More girl gamers are never a bad thing. Ever. Likewise for better female roles in games. And this is coming from a man.

Exactly! Personally I like any game that gives me the option of putting myself in the place of the character, making choices from their point of view rather than my own.
I play games to relax and to unload stress and just for fun. I don't always want to be Biotic charging hoardes of enemies, not that that's not fun, but I love more realistic theoretical situations you get from RPG and such.
What I admire about Tell Tale is it's not your classic RPG, it's entirely character driven, so while your taking part in a story that you can't really control (just like real life) the way your PC approaches these scenarios is entirely up to you, but also driven by the characters pre-existing personality.
Few games have the attention to character devolopment that Tell Tale does and personally I'm happy to play as Clem, it gives me the chance to look at the world from a different perspective than an adult male, which I am.
The options available to Lee and Clementine are different enough to make an interesting contrast for me, as my Clem is now forced to take responsibility for her own safety, and attempt to use what Lee has taught her to survive. Whether she does or not, she's done amazing to get this far.
I don't know why anyone would have a problem with more interesting characters in gaming, except younger players who aren't looking for or sometimes capable of understanding more complex narratives.

  • Dude people die because their skulls are cracked FROM FALLING INTO STAIRS.

The human body, especially a rotting one, is fragile as fuck, and skulls aren't as tough as you are suggesting, especially when it is anywhere that isn't the forehead area. Remember man, giant heavy tree branch+gravity=shitloads of kinetic energy.

Ok well HURT, and has the power to go through bone are two different things.

  • I got kicked in the shin by a 10 year old once (long story). Made me bleed. When someone wields an object you really need to understand that even a 10 year old can harness the power of gravity and momentum. That was a huge god damn tree branch, and a direct impact against an immobile target can easily crack a skull in a few hits.

Also, it's skull might have been rotten.

Also Clem would be fitter than the average 11 year old of our world, given her constant running and fighting.

People seem to fail to realize that something like living in a post apocalyptic world would make children start maturing way before their age.

  • You don't even make sense anymore. She meant that Clem would have been more physically and mentally fit than our worlds 11 year olds to exert effort (such as a log branch into a walker skull) due to the last 2 years of her frantic, desperate violent life.
