I've stopped watching the show after the Season 3 finale, but to be fair, Season 2 was alright at least. Long winded and drawn out, sure, but it wasn't too bad. Season 3, though... ahem.
Without being all VIVA LA REVOLUTIONy like I want to act, you have to admit that after Frank the show wasn't good though. It was average. Maybe the new writer will ante up in season 4, but I highly doubt it. So far I have been watching it only to see if it will become actually good again, as opposed to 'alright'. Remember that not only is the 'new guy' way less proven than Frank, he is also struggling under the budget constraints of AMC. I don't see how the show will get better. I do see how it can get worse.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm with you on the view that Season 2 was just average. My post above was meant to say it wasn't bad like Season 3 and 4. I watched a bit of the Season 4 intro, for instance, and it was just over the top corny fan service over how "awesome" Daryl was.

I don't get all this hate. The way I see it, we are talking about a single episode here in which Clem('s group) passes through and meets the TV cast. How bad could that be? I would be completely fine with this.
Or if they put in relatives to the game characters into the show. Like Lee's wife, or Vince's brother.
A crossover is a good idea, guys. Don't cry before it actually happened. If it sucks you can still choose to disregard it. It's not like it will ever affect the game or the TV series much anyway. It's just meant to be a nudge to fans of both series.
Yeah, but by doing this they are making the unnecessary risk of either fucking up the game, TV show, or both. Glenn and Hershal were the only connections to Lee's group. Glenn can hint at a few things from the game, that would be cool enough for me.

My opinion isn't enough for this, SOMEONE ELSE JOIN THIS MINITHREAD!
In the meantime, I'll just glare at your comic evidence and get mad.
FAN THE FLAMES!
Wow, there's so much hate for AMC here. Personally, I think that with the new Season, the TV Show had been doing much better, and I really wouldn't mind if they added alternate versions of the Telltale characters.
Some people fear it would ruin the game's individuality or ruin the reception a character like Clementine would have if put in a TV show, beca… moreuse it's rare to find a perfect portrayer of the character. ESPECIALLY a kid like Clem, or everyone's favourites; KENNY and/or LEE.
Yes, but it would still be pretty close to Clem and Lee, and after seeing the new episode, I honestly trust the show's writers to handle it well enough. Especially Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and Mr. Kirkman himself.
Well, you do get to know characters better in the games than in the comics, by hearing them talk and seeing them move, so that is more to go o… moreff of and more to help them not fuck up if they do decide to put a game character into the show.
I'd say a small reference would be alright if they could find a good actor for the character, maybe some kind of cameo, but I don't think a character from the games being in the TV show long term is a good idea. >.>

Yes, the majority of my favorite episode have all been from Season 4. Live Bait, Dead Weight, Too Far Gone(the best episode yet), After, etc. Things are looking up for the show, and because of this, I'm not completely adverse to the idea of introducing characters like Lee, Clem, Kenny, etc.
Also, it could lead to some interesting situations with the characters being alternates. For example, maybe they have both Doug and Carley survive in the AMC Universe. Regardless of the fact that it will obviously not be as well done as Telltale's, I think it would be pretty good, and at the very least, interesting to see alternate stories and interactions between characters.
Definetly. If Lee and Kenny hated each other for example, that would go completely against the characters in my story, so I'd be unhappy. Same as if they were best friends, someone else would be unhappy.
Or if Lee was with Lilly or something, I'd hate that, but others might be happy. There'd be problems with bringing these characters in for sure.
He's not really, he does great work on the TV Show(the most recent episode, "After"), and that isn't known as being on of the better scenes. A good example of his writing would be the "We ARE the Walking Dead!" Speech by Rick at the end of Vol. 4 The Heart's Desire.
I just have to point out there that "Feels scenes" makes no sense. They are called "emotional scenes." Also "Feelzy" is not a word. The word (once again) is "emotional." Had to get that out. I have seen this weird use of the word "feels" a couple times now and it's just really annoying.
This. The tv show writers have already shown what they do to interesting child characters (Carl and Sophia) by completely destroying their cha… moreracter development and completely ignoring it, making the characters more like 'Ideas' of characters.
By this I mean, Clementine and comic Carl are both well thought out and developed characters. They also happen to be children.
TV Carl seems a lot more just like the 'idea' of a rebellious very young teen in the apocalypse. I don't think it is Carl's actors fault, I think the TV writers are just really shitty at conveying Carl's short (what he is thinking) and Long term (how he is changing) thought patterns.
Literally in the last episode, they just had Carl fuck up but then live due to blind luck, then boast to himself about how he did it, then break down and cry and be all like 'IM SORRY DADDY! I ALWAYS NEEDED YOU!' in a really narmy voice which seemed more due to a lack of direction from the writer… [view original content]

Daryl is the best character in the show. The thing is, that doesn't mean a lot, because he has the most interesting background and story only because only his has been explored at all, most characters haven't gotten the treatment that they desperately need.
Also Daryl is the only person in show who doesn't make really fucking dumb mistakes all the time.
They'd probably make Clem and Lee white, not give Clem her iconic hat, make Lee her actual dad, not bother having her mention the walkie talkie to Glenn (or more than likely vice versa), the list goes on...

Anyone want to contribute to predicted failures?
Has anyone else realized that the game and TV series cant be the same canon because of Hershel?
The TV Hershel never had a son, yet he does in the game. IN ADDITION, Lilly was introduced in season 4 of the TV series, introducing yet another retcon in which both Hershel and Lilly from their respective stories cannot be the same ones as the other.

which was? The only difference that comes to mind is that comic Glenn came from Macon, while TV Glenn was from Atlanta. Not really a huge deal if you asked me.

This is more appropriate I think though.
TL:DR they fired Frank after season 1, and that fucked everything up.
But yeah, Telltale, Fuck AMC, They can't do your game justice without Frank.
I've stopped watching the show after the Season 3 finale, but to be fair, Season 2 was alright at least. Long winded and drawn out, sure, but it wasn't too bad. Season 3, though... ahem.
Had Season 2 been paced like Season 1, then quantity would've not been a problem. They just had everyone stuck on the farm for waaaay too long.

Did they ever say it was Glenn? Isn't that just a theory? Not all Asians are related to each other, you know. :P
Nah, don't get mad... just accept...
I see no reason why comic Glenn and TV Glenn couldn't be the same characters. They have both done the same things so far.
Glenn is not vince brother :0 remember vince's bro (if im not mistaken) was killed by some guy
That doesn't mean they are completely different characters. It could still work if they have similar backstories.
Wow, there's so much hate for AMC here. Personally, I think that with the new Season, the TV Show had been doing much better, and I really wouldn't mind if they added alternate versions of the Telltale characters.
I hope they don't involve their characters either.
I know! They could hire the real life Doug! Then everyones happy! (Except canon-fodders)
Yes, but it would still be pretty close to Clem and Lee, and after seeing the new episode, I honestly trust the show's writers to handle it well enough. Especially Scott M. Gimple, Greg Nicotero, and Mr. Kirkman himself.
Well, it wont work anyway with the choices. Maybe later they could figure that out, but no way is it going to be now.
Everyone wins! It's like that one movie, can't remember it, that was live-action yet had animated bugzbunny in it.
I know who could show up, It's going to be Vernon!
Supposedly vanished, not dead.
Minor character, not much to fuck up, and would really be a perfect cameo.
I'd like to see a few of the scattered prison group stumble up on the St. John's dairy... that's about all I'd like to see from the game in the show.
Yes, I can verify that scientific evidence indicates that only two Asians live in or around the vicinity of Macon, Georgia.
/sarcasm

I can see clearly now!

I read these pages and all i can do is cringe. Kirkman truly is horrible at writing.

I should have used the word emotions you are right.

Besides the part where they are different characters from different stories?
No one messes with Bromid or our Brohobo Chuck.
Lol if they make Clem white

Another one, She'd just be a failure of a child who barely does anything or contributes anything good to the emotional drama. EG season 2 Carl.

They're not supposed to be canon.

"I got in one little fight and my mom went dissin',
she said- You're movin' with yer auntie and yer uncle in prison
I whistled for a cop, and when he came near,
His car was so fresh, it had dice in the mirror...
