Ya gotta remember that Telltale are working hard on bringing out episodes on quite a few platforms and so it takes time. Its not a matter of no respect, but the fact that sometimes things dont always go according to plan and it may take more time. Have patience, it will come.

    No, it's all about respect.

Telltale let us believe there was a chance we'd get Episode 1 at the same time as everyone else. People started to get worried as time passed with no official announcement, and Telltale knew this. And yet, they said nothing. They must have known it wasn't going to happen, but didn't have the courtesy to answer their fans when questioned about it. Even what little info we now have-that we'll get info after the holidays-was not officially announced. It was only mentioned in passing, in reply to a comment on a walking dead article and a post in this topic. In other words, something most of us would easily miss. And in the end, it's well after the holidays. Meanwhile, we're all getting spoiled on here, which is the only place we have any hope of seeing info, since Telltale never seems to officially announces things related to the Vita. At this rate, we'll always be an Episode behind everyone else, which means the spoilers are going to keep coming, and we'll also miss out on the initial discussion regarding each episode. It's just not right.

And then there's TWAU. Telltale's last official announcement apparently promised it before the end of 2013. That's come and gone, and we still don't have it. Telltale has not said or explained anything, nor do they seem to have apologized.

Maybe they should spend less time worrying about Episode Two of these series and instead make sure everyone has Episode One first.

  • honestly I'm not sure that it was ever even believable. I mean, vita is a new platform they just added to the lineup.
as for the whole delay, yeah that happens. remember IOS for season 1? we had delays. as for the wolf among us, they had major delays just getting smoke and mirrors out for the other platforms, causing a huge ragestorm over there on twau forums, and the finished product is receiving some heavy criticism. as for not releasing new episodes, imagine what would happen if they said: "hey guys we will be halting all work on twd/twau future episodes while we work on getting out for the ps vita. not gonna be well accepted. I'm sure they have a team working on it, in the meantime, get a computer, Iphone/pad/pod, ps3 or xbox 360.

  • It was believable, because a lot of people thought that. Nothing you've said really changes the points I've pointed out in my above post, and I really resent you telling to me to just get another console. I don't WANT to play it on those consoles, and my save files are for Vita.

  • Oh you have save files. I can understand you then bro. I thought you were some idiot who refused to get another console. Sorry for that. I know the feeling what with having my ipad. It's hard. I'm actually experiencing it right now. I wanna play smoke and mirrors, but having an ios device it hasn't been released yet. Don't worry. It'll get here eventually. I think you should just check every month or so for it using your vita. Sorry again for figuring you wrong.

With this and TWAU, it's very clear they have absolutely no respect for Vita players.

When I was young, a developer "had no respect" for AMIGA players when they flat out decided to not develop their game for the platform. They could release that platform version more than a full year after the PC version and players were happy to the extreme. Isn't that something.

I think it's obvious that Telltale tried to manage a simultaneous release here as well. They've always communicated that this could fail, especially in the FAQs, which do not even have the Vita logo present yet. You have always roamed these forums with wishful thinking, and although you've been told countless times that chances are slim, didn't WANT to face the facts. That's why you're disappointed now. "Respect" has nothing to do with it.

  • i think its fair to say we are all a little annoyed at the delays that have happened!

  • However, needless to say, they have happened. We have to deal with them. I honestly think Telltale is working a heck of a lot harder then most people think, and that they are doing their absolute best to make a good product. TWAU story changed? they wanted it to be better for the fans! TWD is not out yet? they want it to be bug free and release for all platforms at roughly the same time! things happen. I'd be lying if I said I didn't mind the delays, because they are annoying, but I believe that Telltale is really trying here.

If you are frustrated with TellTale I would suggest you NEVER spend $ with Perfect World. And be wary of Zombie studios as well. (They take A LOT more than 1 month to implement new content)

I knew "the deal" with The Walking Dead season 2 (game) before I ever bought it. Did the people complaining of no new content yet not realize it could be 1-2 months before new content was released?

Was I one of the few who got that memo?

  • Seriously? Respect has everything to do with it. With a game like this, waiting to release it for just one platform causes a lot of problems. We are unable to join in the discussions with everyone else, and even when we finally get the episode, we still can't, because by then, we'll have to worry about Episode 2 spoilers. Then there's the Episode 1 spoilers that are rampant here. And as I've said many times, making us wait is one thing, but neglecting to tell us ANYTHING or making and breaking promises is not okay.

Telltale is bringing more than enough platforms under one hat at the time. Three years ago, console versions lagged several months behind the PC version. They're trying to rectify that, and it seems to be a difficult process that also comes at a scheduling sacrifice. And STILL they're doing it.

That's obvious for anyone who has watched the company for more than just six months. And it certainly isn't the first time you've been confronted with the very simple fact that Telltale would LOVE to release on all platforms simultaneously.

You're desperately trying to see an insult where none exists.
Because you strangely believe that improvement comes from voicing the unjustified feeling of humiliation continuously.

"Respect" has nothing to do with it.

  • Telltale is making leaps and bounds. as vain said, three years ago console versions lagged behind PC. 2 years ago, IOS releases lagged behind PC/consoles. Now they have PC/Xbox/PlayStation/IOS all releasing within a few days. Vita is next in the line of lagging. I doubt vita will be more than a few days behind the release of season 2 episode 5. we've all had to deal with this. as I said, when TWD released for PC with episode 1, it took another few months for IOS. however episode 5 released within days of each other for PC and IOS. look at TWAU. when the PC version of Faith released, it was another few months before it hit IOS. but when Smoke and Mirrors released, IOS version released 2 days later. they are making progress. Yes, it would be nice if they were to release a vita update or say something, but rest assured that vita has not been forgotten.

  • Neither one of you has refuted any of my points. Once more, respect has EVERYTHING to do with it. Delaying the release so much is inconsiderate for all the reasons I've stated above, and your claim that we'll get the first episode not long after everyone else gets the fifth is hardly comforting. We're talking about two separate game releases here. Telltale let us suffer. And then, when they did make promises, they broke them. It's well after the holidays, but where is our TWD news? It's well after the end of 2013, yet we still don't have TWAU. It's nothing but inconsiderate, no matter what excuses they make.

    Delaying...

The Vita version never had a release date, so no delay has occured.

    inconsiderate...

You're right, it seems like they never should have considered a Vita release in the first place.

We're talking about two separate game releases here.

Yes, of course we are. A separate release for the Vita just like Sam & Max Season 1 / Sam & Max Season 2 / Wallace & Gromit / Tales of Monkey Island / The Devil's Playhouse / Back to the Future for PSN/XBL respectively, just like almost every Telltale game available on iOS, or just like the PC release of "Law & Order Lecacies".

    That's normal.

    Telltale let us suffer.

By approaching a platform port at a more convenient and possibly more successful time? This is ridiculous. You make yourself suffer. And you're good at that.

respect has EVERYTHING to do with it

You want to feel insulted. That much I understand.

Seriously? You're a mod, so please stop behaving so rudely.

First off, if you'd paid more attention to my posts, you'd know that I was talking about delaying the release of Season 2 for Vita players, in comparison to other consoles. They'll likely always be ahead of us now. Second, just agreeing to release a game for a console does not automatically make them considerate. I don't even want to address the rest. Your response has a tone in it I don't care for, like it's some kind of personal attack. You don't have to like me, but don't bring it here. I've done nothing to you.

    Once more:

Telltale promised TWAU us would be out for Vita before the end of 2013. It's still not out, but they haven't said a word. Not an explanation or even an apology.

Telltale never bothered to clarify whether or not the Vita version of TWD would be released around the same time as the other consoles, even though they knew a lot of fans were worried about it. They were contacted by various people through various means, yet couldn't be bothered to reply.

They delayed TWD to the point where all Vita players will be behind the others, meaning we miss all the discussion and end up getting spoiled.

TWD info for Vita is rarely ever officially announced. Even the "news after the holidays" was nothing more than one person's reply to a comment on another article/post here. You'd never know about it if you didn't hunt, thus risking even more spoilers.

They promised us news after the holidays. It's well after the holidays, yet still nothing.

This is just to name a few. And stop acting like I'm the only person who has ever voiced displeasure about the way Telltale handles things. Even the people who play the other consoles were starting to get fed up with them.

    source?

Telltale never bothered to clarify whether or not the Vita version of TWD would be released around the same time as the other consoles, even though they knew a lot of fans were worried about it.

"The season will debut on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Mac, and iOS" puzzle box said this in December, which I believe clarifies that it would not be released for the vita at the same time.

They delayed TWD to the point where all Vita players will be behind the others, meaning we miss all the discussion and end up getting spoiled.

They did the same thing with IOS. they simply didn't have the time to update it. are you surprised?

TWD info for Vita is rarely ever officially announced.

I don't know what the reason is for this one, although I'm going to guess they don't have anything to say except "don't hold your breath"

They promised us news after the holidays.

and it is after the holidays. unless they gave a specific time after the holidays during which to expect news, they've broken no promises.

Once again, it is possible they will be ahead of you for all of season 2, but it is also possible they will catch you up. I understand that you want news, but I doubt they have anything relevant for you right now.

  • People need to realise the fact that Telltale isn't EA or activision. They aren't a massive company and have 2 games ongoing and still in the process in creating both, so you demanding them isn't going to help. Give them some slack and go play flappy bird or something until it comes out
