I dont understand this. TWD is a great game. No one on this forum would disagree with that - that is why we are on the forums. But it is getting a bit ridiculous about how telltale handles their communication and PR. Honestly I am sick of people saying "be patient" and "quality not quantity." I obviously want the episodes to be great but at what cost? an extra 2 months of waiting? Regardless, I would be less (and I hope I speak for others) aggravated if Telltale came out with a statement/ apology/ update with CONCRETE info. Is it that hard? Seems like they are missing a pretty crucial and easy part of a business.
So it's either no estimate or an inaccurate estimate? My problem is that they don't provide any updates when they go over the estimated time-frame. I know you'll just defend them because that's what you do, but I think it's poor business practice to not inform your customers as to the progress when you have gone past the estimated time-frame. A company that CARES about its customers would respect that they want to be informed. I don't mind waiting and I'm not getting a refund, but I will not purchase a future season pass and I think that's unfortunate. If I ran customer service at Telltale, I'd be concerned about losing loyal customers in the future because I was negligent. All some of us are asking for is a bone thrown our way for our money and loyalty. Apparently, that's too much to ask in the eyes moderators and Telltale. Telltale isn't doing me any favors, I'M the one who is paying money here. I have every right to voice my concern and discontent with their negligence. I deal with many subscriptions and I never have encountered such apathy. All that I want is for them to show that they care about the people who fund their company. It's sad that that is some grand request in the opinions of some people. I thought it was just common courtesy and honest business practice. For the record, I believe any talk of legal recourse is absurd. I'm not one of the people who want to sue. lol. I just want some appreciation directed at their fanbase.
They themselves put them into this situation.
They have given an estimate, absolutely.
Would you prefer they did not? Because I'm r… moreather certain 99% of the community would love to have that estimate and are aware that that's what it is. Right now, what you're trying to teach them is "don't give an estimate". And I'd rather have it myself.
I'm still optimistic about a Feb 18th release date. Telltale usually announce the games with 5-2 days before it's release and I hope it's the… more same in this case as I really can't wait! But Lauraperusco twitter has confirmed that the episode is made, as she said she played it, and keeps teasing us to play 400 days for the last week. So I hope this all points to the 18th.
I totally agree. I'm not going to ask for a refund because I'll just end up having to buy it again with it's released as a full season, but I'm DEFINITELY done with the season passes. Also, you can find some awesome deals when it's all done. Steam was offering the first season for $5 for a little while.
I think I've come to a conclusion that it's "no more season passes for me". It's just too unreliable to throw away money like that.
Regardless, I still want to play the rest of the episodes.
"Why, back in my day.."
"Shut up Grandpa!"
Sorry I just feel all the people on here constantly remarking about the golden age of the forum are getting annoying.
Very well stated. Some of us aren't asking for much for our money and patience. We just want an acknowledgment or explanation. They HAVE gone over the estimated time-frame. That is a FACT. If they were courteous to their loyal customers, they would either apologize or they would throw us a bone and give us an update. It's really simple, but we'll be called "drama queens", "15 year olds", and all sorts of horrible names for asking for something perfectly reasonable when we've paid for a product. That's great if some of you don't care and you guys will let Telltale take forever without ever informing you of anything. Good for you. I am not like that. I like to know when my purchase will be available when I've already paid good money for it. I must have said this a dozen times, but I DO NOT care about waiting. I care about being ignored, strung along, and left in the dark by a company that I have supported with my money and my words. They are not entitled to my business or money, but I gave it to them and as such I don't think it's asking too much to get an update when they have exceeded their estimated delivery date.

For every title Telltale has sold a Season Pass/stated an intended timeframe and number of episodes/etc, they have followed through with the delivery of the series. Even back in the old days where Telltale was a new name (meaning users had little history to go off of) and concepts such as episodic games/digital distribution were a hard sell to gamers, Telltale was still able to keep to their word and deliver full seasons despite the fact they were still obscure/niche and did not have large franchises such as The Walking Dead to fall back on.
With all of the previous seasons Telltale has finished, why would they arbitrarily choose now of all times to not finish a season?
Not like it's never happened before.

Um, doesn't Telltale take two weeks off for the holidays? They have families too, we've been told to ignore those two weeks, so TECHNICALLY; we're still on schedule. TECHNICALLY.
So it's either no estimate or an inaccurate estimate?
Ah, probably. The problem is that estimates raise hope, maybe too much in this case. Telltale has its fair share of negative experience even with the "it looks like..." estimate, which was mostly given freely a couple of years ago.
My problem is that they don't provide any updates when they go over the estimated time-frame.
Yeah, some kind of warning would be nice. Instead of a "at the time, it looks like...", they could at least come out and say "we're afraid it DOESN'T look like...".
Apparently, that's too much to ask in the eyes moderators

I hope you all will get a refund and leave the forum. I miss the time when on this forum you could discuss about the future episodes. Not like… more now when the forum is full of 15 old kids who keep complaining that they can't play all the episodes at once.
Telltale you take your time, I say, your games are the best and even though the new episodes are not here I can always be fond of watching the TV series and reading the comic books or replay season one. I mean what each episode is like 10$ or 5$ or w/e take your time, its not like you guys are laughing at our comments and complaints while you sit in your cubicle watching playful puppies on youtube or play any online games. Taking you leisure time to create the most epic second series, while you play with your desk toys so I say take your time please by all means, please. I mean hell if takes another month or two, we ain't going anywhere, right guys?
Not like it's never happened before.

Dude, no offence, but that's a bit too cynical. We are TWO MONTHS from the previous episode. The next episode has been discussed to death. The forum wasn't suddenly flooded with "gosh WHERE is the next episode?" talk when EP1 came out. It took a while. We can't just discuss about the next episode forever, right? People are gonna be apprehensive, and rightly so. Chastising people for this is uncool.

"We promise to have an episode out every 4-6 weeks" is totally different than saying "There are five episodes in each season. Episodes are usually available to download between 4 and 6 weeks apart."
this thread needs to 'get a life'.............but don't quote me on that as i may be legally binding 'dissing' u,LMAO i don't care if it's 6 weeks away,or 12 weeks,or 45 weeks,it will be fine,OP they are classed as 'guidelines' look it up in ur law book
Telltale's games are relatively cheap and this is in much part to do with not having to pay huge amounts invested in PR like many games that come out in full version and not episodic. You can't have it all. This is just the way episodic games are. Either you like them and are willing to accept the fact they aren't always going to be just waiting to be downloaded as soon as you finish 1 episode or you do and its worth it to you. You are only paying 5 dollars and episode, just $25 a game if you didn't pre-order the season. How many companies would release a game for just $25? Most of them, if they did, they would go under. All this complaining is not going to change how TellTale does things

Respectfully disagree. I think I and many other would be willing to pay full price (60 bucks for US xbox games) if telltale could actually release on time and/or all at once. I like episodic gaming . . . when the company holds true to its estimated timeline. Also, it doesn't take much money to hire one employee to fun FREE accounts like twitter and Facebook so blaming it on "lack of investment on PR" is not a good argument. I understand relatively speaking telltale is producing a very cheap game (by standards) and a game that is of very high quality but it makes absolutely no sense why they can't be more responsive to their loyal fan base.

As far as I am concerned, they are legally binding.
...What? Since when? Since you decided?
Just doing a quick Google search even shows that something is only "legally binding" if there is a written agreement that two parties agree to and sign.
As far as I know, FAQs are just meant to give people a "rule of thumb" summary of information.
[Insert generic disclaimer that "I am only a community mod and not from Telltale" here.]
I don't mean to be rude but, @himmatsj has a point. Stop attacking him. I know this waiting gives the bad side of us but admit it or not, Telltale's PR is really poor, very poor.
I pay for none, I just wait until they're out. Magazines over here became a bit fidgety with schedules for a while, and I decided paying for a sub was for the boyds.
Lol. I'm starting to feel that your mentality is the smarter mentality, at least when it comes to Telltale. I pay for 3 magazine subscriptions… more and they have NEVER let me down. They always deliver on time and have excellent customer service. However, I'm getting the impression that Telltale isn't quite up to snuff when it comes to delivering an already-paid-for product in a timely manner. So, this is the last season pass I'll be purchasing. I'll just wait till the complete version is released and $5 on Steam. Save myself some money and frustration. In the immortal words of George W. Bush, "Fool me once, shame on, shame on you. Fool me twice, you can't get fooled again".
"It doesn't take much money.." And you know this how? Have you worked in the PR business or hired PR for anything? I'm not doubting that people would buy the full version, but that's not how they do things. If you liked what they did before and thought that it was worth it, you'd put up or shut up. Until you are in there with these guys seeing everything they do and how hard it is to make a game from start to finish, don't judge and complain. I am a game developer so I know how hard it is.
