Think we'll ever get a walking dead storyline with a setting placed in another country?

In the walking dead Universe if there has been one thing Ive wondered the most, Its what's happening on the other side of the world. You would imagine it would be the same survival scenario but in some countries people might be worse off. Take Japan for instance and its very strict gun laws. Its really hard to get a gun permit in Japan so gun holders are very few and far in between, most guns being the kind used for recreational hunting with slow reload speeds. Unlike america where there's "a rifle behind every blade of grass" (Yamamoto). I have heard You can even have an automatic weapon in America within some of their states. They do have a military base but we've all seen how reliable the military has been in America during the Zombie outbreak. I can see a giant herd forming in Tokyo then migrating forming all kinds of hell where ever it goes.

What country would you like to see in a walking dead story line and what factors or difficulty would they face based on their setting?

  • The only mention of anything outside the U.S in the series is that France came really close to getting the cure to the infection.

I would like to see how South American countries are doing in the apocalypse.

North Korea then have excuse to nuke them and with rules people have follow so strict and well organised they will be a lot of survivor but if was me america because everyone's aloud a gun so looting houses they'll be a lot of ammo and food all rich have best military and weapons available or maybe china so many people you hide in crowd and zombies would never found hard good question

  • I'd like to see Madagascar (spelling?)... the perfect escape plan.

Well, the high density of population in China and India would suggest they die down faster. More people = more potential walkers. It all depends on the birth/death rate.

UK would be interesting to me. I'd imagine London will be a hell hole and you'd have large amounts of survivors fleeing north where there are less people or trying to escape the island to mainland Europe with a boat.

It'd also be interesting due to the fact there's not many fricken guns. Good luck with that.

  • There'd be some guns, just mainly double barreled shotguns and anything you could loot off of the army. Do not expect many handguns. It'd be all about improvised close combat weapons.

  • Well, it always depends on location. Obviously dense cities will be taken down, like America.

  • Episode 6 of season 1. Jenner says the French were the ones who kept working and were close to a solution.

  • I thought that was the case as it's never been mentioned in the comic.

  • So London would be about the same as it is now?

  • Well played sir.

So London would be about the same as it is now?

  • It would be interesting, but the story is made by american companise, Tv show, comics and games so it's mostly turned to american populations, but with the globalization most of Europe (specially western), has the same charatcheristics as american demographics, specially younger generations like me (I'm 22). That's why more and more people in EUrope identifie with charatcher from american movies and vice-versa...

I don't think that would happen, walking dead in other countries, unless for some references, but I guess it would be something like this Portuguese and Spanish survivors would have a love/hate relantionship, the british will be there like "I'm quite sorry but I jsut want you to now I'm richer than you", Germany would be "Shut up I'm in charge", Italian guy truing to get lucky with every woman, Franch would just give up and die at the beggining unless someone saves him/her and Holand would be the stonned guy.

This is just a joke people I'm not trying to bring up steriotypes that might offend you, I'm portuguese myself

Here's what I want! Not in another country or anything, but in a different TIME! I'd love to see a zombie infection break loose on a spaceship or something! Or you could go in the past with Rome or samurai or the Vikings. Or something I think would be really cool: explaining the fall of Atlantis with zombies.

  • I disagree with this, I dont think zombies in another timeline would make a good series. What makes zombies a good story is that it can be relatable, its about what everyday people would do in an apocalypse, someone like yourself. When its done in other timelines, it always comes off as corny or campy, because its hard to imagine such situations and it becomes even more outlandish. Im not saying zombies are possible in at any point in time, but the audience would realize how ridiculous the situation is too easily

  • Depends on the time. But a spaceship.. seriously? What is this Black Ops 1 Zombies:Moon? Rome sounds good but Samurai = 400 Michonne's, and Vikings would just look... weird. I think Medieval Times would be cool and zombies could be formed by The Black Plague and people could fight with crossbows, swords, and lances but zombies wouldn't be able to eat through knights armor unless they swarm him.

How about space that would be cool you could be an astronaut who gets stuck on a space station with your crew. you soon find out that theirs a zombie invasion and that the only hope for them is to try to survive in space as long as they can. It could be claustrophobic in its layout it does just sound very interesting in theory don't you guys think.

  • I'm still stuck someplace between amused and offended; if the wind changes I'll stay like this.

  • The comics might give it a shot once the current series has ended. In the form of a reboot maybe? The publishers and what-have-you have been making money for so long that I doubt they'll just let the series end.

Not on the TV show; probably not in the game.

  • That was inspired by this picture:

  • Australia would actually be a pretty good place to be (if you live in the outback). You could hunt for game, and since you're basically in the middle of nowhere, almost no walkers. The only trouble would be finding fresh water.

  • Would be nice to see even a different part of america, the game is doing it a bit now

  • Only USA. Rest of the world would be soooo boring.
