I'm pretty sure Telltale would never renounce some kind of canon in their games. The idea probably was more that they wouldn't totally abstain from incorporating TV show characters as well (that wouldn't violate the comic canon, after all). But I have no quote ready.

So I was just reading the FAQ of Walking Dead:Season 2 (http://www.telltalegames.com/walkingdead/season2-faq/) in a search for a release date of episode 2 & noticed that it says 4-6 weeks between episodes & then I read in this thread that it's coming early March so that's more like 4 months??? Am I the only one who thinks that 4 months is a bit ridiculous?
I mean if they keep this up season.5 will be released sometime around March next year!!! Now I'm not one to complain & this is my first time checking in to see if something was delaying the episode but I haven't been able to find any thing but with more than 5000 comments in this thread I could have missed it but after the waiting for TWAU:Episode.2 & now 4 month for TWD:Episode.2 I know that I ain't gonna buy any more until all 5 episodes have been released after all playing them in rapid succession is just more fun...
I think they're just moving away from Georgia so that it helps widen the scope of the continuity. On the other hand I think the part of the canon they changed was Comic Lilly and Game Lilly being changed to different Lillys, but that's Kirkman's fault.

I can see the trailer having a monologue of something Kenny said in Season 1 at the start of the trailer. we'll likely then see the area that was seen in the last few screenshots and the cabin group traveling and maybe a split second of the 400 Days group.

They have NEVER EVER promised released dates, but have made estimations.
