Echo eye bugged for anyone else? (ep5)

Before I submit a support request I want to know if I'm the only one (and therefore should redownload the episode), but is Rhys's echo eye bugged for anyone else in episode 5? I just started playing, I just got out of the pod with Rhys, and when I press 'Q' the ech eye doesn't work. The interface is gone. It does something, it enters the scan mode, but doesn't show the overlay or play the appropriate sounds / dialogue..

    Never mind, complete rebooted the game, and now it works.
    I loaded another savefile just before that, maybe that was the problem, or maybe the game doesn't like alt-tabbing.

    I thought it was a result of the crash.
