TFTB Crashes constantly

I've recently bought and downloaded it from the Telltale website, I disabled my anti virus while it was installing so that no files were broken but the game continues to crash at random times throughout the game, i cant even make it through 10 minutes of the first episode without it crashing on me. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I cannot wait to play these episodes and the constant crashing is killing it a bit for me at the moment. Thanks
