Can't Preorder - [PayPal temporarily unavailable]
So I logged in to TellTale this morning and jumped for joy! Sam and Max was available for preorder!
I added it to my cart and proceeded to check-out, where I was met with a sinking feeling in my tummy.
Where is the paypal option? I've already said before I'm unable to pay using a credit card - but I'm loaded with paypal and I want you to have my money (pleease) and even my first-born child if necessary.
I must be able to preorder! *twitchy* Could someone get back to me on this? Thanks!

It says to try again, but when I try to go to 'Checkout' I get an error message that the command could not be completed and the error has been logged.
Doug or Kevin is going to have to look into this, and I think they're both sleeping after pulling an all nighter on the site.
(If anyone does get charged twice by accident, of course we'll fix that for you, too!)
Well, you're still pre-ordering the other episodes of course.
Wise move getting the site up before the official press-release. There'll always be minor problems, no matter how well you've organized things.

I was getting worried that yet again I would be thwarted by my decision not to have a credit card, and unable to get the game. I rely on paypal and similar services for buying things from forrun lands when I can't use my UK debit card.
Phew!
However, I did notice, I didn't seem be charged for P&P?
Are TellTale posting out all the boxed versions for free?
The boxed versions are something season-set orderers will have the option to opt-into later in the run, and at that point you'll be asked to pay shipping.
..and does it have anything to do with the server being down today?
Any chance it will get sorted out soon?
Jake and Doug are working on the shopping cart stuff more closely than I am. I'll make sure they see this post when they get in from lunch. The fact that it shows up if you add another item to the cart might help them figure out what's going on here.
No, I think I wasn't clear enough.
If you want to buy just the game then the paypal-option is missing.
If you want to buy something else (at least this is the case with the purcell-prints) then the option is there.
And if you combine the order for the game and the prints the paypal-option is gone again.
Good luck in finding the problem! I'm afraid that if I have to wait much longer I I'm going to explode! (thirteen years are such a long time!!!)
We think the problem is that PayPal just can't be used to preorder. My understanding is that we're not allowed to charge you until the first game comes out. With PayPal the funds are taken out of your account right away -- there wouldn't be any way to delay them until later. Luckily this shouldn't be a problem once the game comes out tomorrow.
So....erm....its november now....;)
Unfortunately it is still a problem...
Paypal is currently only an option for the single episode... not for the season package
some solutions please!!! i can only pay through paypal, and with argentinean currency there's a big difference between the season set and the single episode price!!
(it's like 60 extra bucks, since we're 1 dollar ---> 3,11 pesos)
Anyway, it would be nice if you could get it working.

Come on guys, even I've sold things though PAYPAL for preorders, I think your ecommerce team need a kick up the keister.
Wait all these years, then the game is out and I can't buy it. There's something vaguely evil about that...
there goes another day without sam&max
but here's still hoping that there is some kind of god and that the problem gets fixed before the weekend!
so, i guess there is only one thing to say:
good night & good luck
There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to do that, and that would be a quick fix and would take a matter of hours to set up, and not days. Then, you guys can take a breather and get the situation sorted at your own leisure.
Just a suggestion.
