  • Subjects like these are hard to discuss even on more civilized parts of the internet (like this forum) without people that don't constantly misunderstand what I mean.

    1. Get professional help if you really need it.

  • I thought you were saying that people with serious mental health issues should try to fix it themselves first. My argument is that if you know you've got a problem, you should seek professional help before putting in a serious effort. If I misunderstood you, I apologize.

    Also we are not talking about physical injuries like breaking a leg. Of course you would seek a professional, unless you're trained in the field.

    We all know that trying to fix a broken leg without a professional can cause harm, but many tend to miss that the same is true for mental health.
