Hahaha, that's nonsense Cope! You sound like some temperance lady defending prohibition in the 20's.
America's demand for narcotics is insatiable and marijuana is just the tip of the iceberg. In many ways, demand for marijuana is high because it's illegal and not in spite of it.
I'd give marijuana prohibition 10, maybe 15 years before it's completely obsolete.
Well, perhaps you can't change the way you feel about certain topics, but if you even realize how you're too judgmental sometimes, what's the point of harping on it?
Look, I know you have your own views on drug war and other polemic topics, but you have to think about the consequences of what you're asking for. The world is not black and white. It doesn't work like ''Let's prohibit marijuana cause it's bad for people, so no one will smoke it and everyone will be safe and happy!''. It's certainly not that simple. You have to analyze how war against drugs is working on society, how it's affecting addicts and people close to them. Throwing someone in jail for smoking pot won't help them. If they're addicted, taking a vacation in prison won't help them or their families. You can be morally against the use of marijuana and still be in favor of legalization.
I'm not trying to fight or say that your opinion is wrong. I just want you to realize how it's not that simple, there's not an easy answer for that, we can't come up with the argument that ''Drugs are bad. And that's it.'' There's much more behind it and we need to know how to separate what we're morally against from what's better for other people.
I don't smoke it myself, but I have a friend who uses it to deal with his migraines. I really want it to become legalized since it's less dangerous than cigarettes and alcohol, and currently it's fairly difficult to get a license for the medicinal stuff. Thankfully it will probably become legal here in Canada within the next few years.
Posting here again.. And I'm sick of it. I was at the bus stop after a Burger King meal with my friends, and this guy was hitting a blunt right next to me. In a public area..? It's not legal, and I definitely am not interested in that second hand... AND he got on the same bus as me, and got off at the same stop, too. It smelled like complete shit, to be honest. I have no clue how people can be attracted to it. But that's me.

Not really. Most people had a hand in either dealing or snorting cocaine which side effects are more hazardous than marijuana. If we compared a regular weed smoker to a cocaine user I'd say the coke user is in far worse mental and physical shape
If someone wants to smoke weed in the privacy of their own home, then more power to them. Nobody should enforce lifestyle choices on ANYBODY. Just let people live how they wanna live.

I never had someone rave to me about it. Never did understand why some use it (I know some use it for depression but I mean other reasons), but it's their choice to use it I guess. I'd rather keep a clear head and stay healthy as possible though. It's the same way I feel about smokes and booze, I prefer to stay straight edge. Thanks.

I'm pro-weed, but to an extent. I strongly believe that people should wait until they're older (as science indicates that people are more likely to become addicted at a younger age) if they want to. I also believe that we should tax the hell out of it. I'm sure plenty of people agree with me, but we don't always get what we want. No, I don't mind people talking about it - most don't smoke it in public. I don't smoke it at all. That's enough for me.
Though I can definitely understand why it bothers you. My sister is the same way.
If they tax it, I hope it goes to hard drug treatment or something.
We've been trying to set up needle exchanges and pro bono drug treatment in my town but there's (air quotes) "never enough money in the budget". Of course, there's always plenty of money to build a new stadium or pier.

if people knew anything would know it was just a shot at minorities
you're absolutely right, George. I've read some of the early dr… moreug war propaganda from the 20's and 30's and it's insane.
The government claimed that marijuana would "make the normally docile negro fly into a murderous frenzy." They also liked to scare people by claiming "treacherous Chinamen" were purposefully trying to get white women hooked on opium to undermine American society.
The drug war was powered by racial hysteria.
I've asked some of my non-smoker friends if they wanna try smoking and that I'd pack a bowl for them, but they've said no and I respected that. I haven't run into many of the people you're talking about, but I've run into people that think they're so cool just because they smoke weed and they turn out to be total dickbags. I smoke weed because I like socializing with my friends and it makes me feel happy and gives me something to do.
If they tax it, I hope it goes to hard drug treatment or something.

I'm all for legalization, but I do agree with you about those people that talk about it like it's the greatest thing ever and base their whole identity around it.

Absolutely, Harry Anslinger was the father of the drug war and he had a heavy hand in this propaganda.
He also made it his life's mission to go after jazz musicians and ruined Billie Holliday's life, among many others.
I don't know enough about Marijuana to tell if it should be legalized or not, worldwide.
When I search "Is weed dangerous?" on google, the first link is a scare site about how it causes all kind of problems.
You know, if it annoys you so much, you should probably try smoking a bowl to mellow out.
Stop me if somebody already made that joke...

Try this : Cállate, pinche idiota! Yo cago en la leche de tu puta madre!
Actually, on second thought, don't try that.
I love the smell.
Remember guys, stay civil. I've removed most of the offending comments, insults are not cool. Thanks.
Guess that's why we have opinions. I also think the smell is horrid.

Sorry about the Subtitles, it was the only one I could find.
For once I actually agree with some of the things you've said. But legalizing it is still a very very stupid idea.
Better weed than coke or smack like in the 80's
It's all the same . Now we have weed smokers licking toads.

Can't say much.
But it's wrong for people to pressure you into smoking weed.
My opinion is the better of the two.

Weed is so overrated. I'm going to try LSD.

They could ...in another country.Like Canada.
Man, your attempts at being edgy and ironic are getting retarded now.
That's fantastic news!
SMOKE THAT SHIT!!!!!!

I usually am, my problem is the way i express it. It has gotten me in trouble sometimes.
be careful, it can be intense.

Я за спортивный образ жизни !
For drug treatment, I'm assuming you mean like therapy and rehabilitation? Sounds like a deal to me.
I'm sure they were being sarcastic.
I'm not too fond of recreational usage of it but I support medicinal marijuana.
I'm all for legalization, but I do agree with you about those people that talk about it like it's the greatest thing ever and base their whole identity around it.
Savages. I only do cocaine, like real men...
I don't actually do cocaine...
