Wait a minute, what? Holy shit. I did not see that coming.
In Arkham Knight, it had its moments where some choices had to be made. And now that Telltale is gonna make their own Batman adventure, all I can say is...
I'm skeptical, but I'm going to withhold judgement until it releases.
I'm mainly a little skeptical because, well, batman is an established character, with established morals, it'll be hard to put tough choices in the game, when we all know what batman himself would choose. The only real way it could work is if they make a new universe in the batman series, or they make the game centered around when he first became batman.
I know it is a long shot, but TellTale can always make a return to that format. All you need to do is figure out how to keep a story adventure based with a compelling story within a 90 to 120 minute time span. It is tough but not impossible.
I don't see how Telltale will fully go with that decision considering they've abandoned the whole adventure game style since Walking Dead S1… more of course that would be a really nice change of pace but I feel that might not happen. I'm excited, but Telltale REALLY need to think about this cause I don't want Batman in an ocean of QTEs or extremely simple puzzle solving as I feel it needs to be more than that in order to stand out cause the story is probably going to be a Batman story everyone's already seen or heard of before.
I'm officially way more excited about this than Batman v Superman. I can see them pulling it off. It'll be far more an examination of Bruce Wayne, and I can't see this being anything other than a detective story (Court of Owls?). Basically, two of my favourite things coming together. I can't tell if I'm more pumped for Michonne Mini-series or this, but either way who cares! We're lucky to have a quality storytelling studio that can bring franchises we like to us in ways we couldn't otherwise have had them before.
I do hope they fix the one mistake Rocksteady did and go a different route for the villain instead of it just being Joker like always. I'd rather Ra's be the main villain or maybe a telltale original villain, but if it is Joker then I say get Troy Baker to voice him. He did an excellent job in Origins and sounded very similar to Mark Hamill
Holy crap! Super hyped about this. I can't believe they're making a DC game and a Marvel game! Although I think the Marvel one isn't until 2017, but still. Super cool! Love super heroes. Batman probably has the best roster of villains around, so I'm sure this is going to be awesome.
Something we never asked for but are getting anyway and will spend money on!!!
Seriously, TTG is really just known to be taking established games. Given it some choices and then pumping it to a existing fanbase. I can't recall one game from them that started off from scratch without a existing fanbase they can rely on to get sucked in.
Choices and consequences doesn't have to mean good and evil or life and death. There's a lot of room to play there.
Or, if they really want to go for something a little bit different, and let Batman be something that he isn't usually, there's always the possibility of it being something like Elseworlds.
What? NOOO
Choice and consequence with Batman? That doesn't fit at all.
Not to mention how important real gameplay for a Batman game is...
Also who will voice him? Really hope its Kevin Conroy or at leastRoger Craig Smith from Origins
As someone who has completed all the Batman Arkham games multiple times I can say that I really am looking forward to this. Nothing much was done with Bruce Wayne in the Arkham games by Rocksteady so it will be interesting to see and also it will probably be more detective esque.
I also hope they get a some-what decent voice actor for Batman I really am hoping for Kevin Conroy though.

interesting. i mean they announced the marvel one sooner but thats later until 2017. for this just announced and it comes out on 2016. very interesting. but good for TT yall deserve to get great licenses. but please since yall getting this big games, maybe improve those engines.
I hope to see Batman able to blend in with shadows this time. Also would like to explore the whole Wayne mansion and secret entrance to the Batcave. Batman should be able to be quicker on his feet and able to cover himself with his cape while walking or sneaking around.
i think this is a great opportunity for batman to be a genius detective again and not a brawler, don't get me wrong he is great as a fighter, but he is supposed to be very intelegent and a great detective as well, and i think those aspects have been put aside for quite some time
This was some really interesting news to wake up to and i totally wasn't expecting it, Telltale a good when it comes to game based of comics so i am looking forward to this

Holt shit! I did not expect that at all! I love it! I have always suspected we will play a proper superhero eventually after playing The Wolf Among Us and the Marvel announcement. I just didn't expect that Telltale managed to get to make a Batman game.
I see a bunch of potential here. It is going to be fun playing as Bruce Wayne and then switch to Batman. The Batman universe is pretty damn dark. I hope Telltale will do it justice.
It's pretty darn insane that Telltale is making BOTH DC and Marvel games, but I'm happy to play both. Even if it is ironic that DC has beaten Marvel to the punch with the one solid console game they had planned and revealed again...
This got me completely by surprise, wasn't expecting this at all. To be fair I'm more excited for this than for the Marvel series (which I'm pretty excited for as well), because Batman might be my favourite comic book hero.
Kinda interesting that it's coming 2016 while earlier announced Marvel series will be released in 2017. I guess they want to live up from the hype from the Batman vs Superman movie.
It's easier to be excited about this right now because we know have any solid information about the Marvel game and who will be utilised (even if Moon Knight and Daredevil were strongly rumoured). As a Marvel fan I am kinda worried that this is basically going to eclipse those sort of games - Moon Knight is not only an unknown but I think a lot of casual fans would call him a Batman clone. Maybe at this point it will be better for Telltale to get a Spider-Man or Avengers game out there instead.

Btw, nice new avatar, Blind. :P
The real question is.
Can they write "the Joker" well?
Or will they chicken out and not include him.
Even those guys who worked wit… moreh Arkham series understood that even after the Joker was dead, it was important to include his character as the Joker is important in any game where you control the Batman.
And would they be able to get Mark Hamill behind this too?
Fleshed-out detective system would be nice.
Can't say I feel the same besides minecraft was yhe first Telltale game i didn't buy.. I don't expect this to be as good as the Rocksteady games, but I still expect greatness. This is honestly the only currently announced telltale game that I am excited for.
I wanted a game based off Green Arrow and if they chose the Arrow from the cw tv show it would be perfect in a choice based game in my opinion. With Arrow he kills sometimes, but with Batman we know he won't kill.

I kinda hope its like that, but at the same time, that would just make me wish they'd make a season 2 of Wolf instead

Time to get the Bat Credit Card to pay for the season pass.

I'm excited! I love Batman, and I'm hoping they show a good story on the Bruce Wayne side of things.
YES!!

Batman actually works well in the adventure genre.
Batman Returns.

What I'm curious about is at what point of this episodic story it'll take place in the Batman universe?
2016 is gonna be a great year for telltale.
I hope to see Batman able to blend in with shadows this time. Also would like to explore the whole Wayne mansion and secret entrance to the Batcave. Batman should be able to be quicker on his feet and able to cover himself with his cape while walking or sneaking around.
What are the chances scarecrow and bane appear they'd be great in this game!

I hope they will share some more details on PS Experience.

You really don't know Telltale, then.
Is it bad that I was hoping for a World Premier of TWAU S2?
I'm pretty sure announcing it at TGA would generate a lot of interest...but nope we got Michonne and Batman.
Here's hoping they live up.
Anyone got any therories on what sort of artstyle Telltale will use? Like just stick to comic book graphics? Or maybe a noire art style?
That's another thing I love about Telltale, their games all have different and unique artstyles.

Wasn't really into Batman.
Oh my god, I didn't even realize that. RIP Telltale forums.
Were you into Minecraft before Storymode was announced?
Idk, I'd rather them not include Joker. He's in every Batman story nowadays. Like I love the guy, but getting kinda tired of him.
Oh, yes!
MEINE KÖRPER IST SCHON BEREIT!
EDIT: I just realised that this decreases the apparent likelihood of the Wolf Among Us season two |:(
