Yeah, as long as they all "behaved" and worked actively on the community, they could've been let out of the pen after a month or two, and al… morel of them would be alive, instead of devoured, bitten, hypothermized or drowned in a lake/river.
The real question is, why didn't the group escape in the store's truck that was conveniently next to them? Mike was seen hot-wiring the Russians' truck when attempting to take it with Arvo and Bonnie. Does anyone know about, uh… this sort of thing?
I guess it's kind of a parallel to when Bonnie was hooked on drugs and instead of being abandoned, she was helped by Dee and Leeland.
… more Right! That's how the help cycle started.
I'm pretty pissed that they both died so early on. It would've been interesting to have them come to Howe's, along with Bonnie. Nobody ever gives them credit for keeping Bonnie alive.
Wow thats a plot hole big enough to drive a whole RV full of plot holes thru! Jane at the very least should have grabbed that machine gun when she shot dude! Also ppl cliam to play Clem as they would have Lee. Why then leave all those ppl to die at HOWES. Without atleast some being able to leave with you? Sooo many plot holes "SWEAR"
Given how incompetent and detested Carver and Troy were in the community, and how laughably easy it was to execute them, the group didn't ev… moreen need to leave the place at all. All the group had to do was to assassinate them, and perhaps the remaining followers depending on their loyalty to Carver, and simply wait for the herd to go away.
Risking everyone's lives to leave the community through the walker herd was one of the worst ideas the group had, especially when they were leaving behind a community that had already lost their tyrannical leader and his most loyal follower, all while they were on their way breaking themselves out of the place. And that's not even getting into all those food and weapons supplies they're leaving behind as well, especially the baby formula for AJ who is about to be born.

She does, actually. She takes his gun and gives it to Bonnie.
Yeah, that's the assault rifle that she fired several times, in the middle of a herd of walkers, without being heard.
I disagreed with Luke about leaving people behind.
I played the game according to how my conscience dictated, and leaving people behind, unless they had deliberately tried to harm the group, didn't sit well with me and therefore I wouldn't do it.
When I played as Lee, I refused to let Ben drop from the clock tower.
And Ben fell in the alley, something that I thought was kinda ironic given that I had just saved him from falling to his death in the previous episode, I refused to leave Kenny, even we ordered me to do so, (one of the reasons being is because Kenny and My Lee were best buddies.)
And so when Luke brought up about "leaving people behind", mainly referring to Kenny, I had Clementine adamantly refuse.

Sorry, but I'm not...you know...urban?
Well, considering how the game ended with Bonnie's character, it's pretty obvious as to why Telltale didn't get praise for keeping her alive.

I like that herd scene and all, but I'm not gonna lie, her shooting the gun is definitely pushing it.
I mean, I could maybe understand one or two shots without getting noticed, but that was sustained fire.

Reminds me of Homer Simpson shooting in the middle of the crowd in the episode 'And Maggie makes Three'.
