What do you think happens after death?
From people who have experienced death 99% say it's just blackness and their thoughts and it just keeps getting darker and darker ( a bit like how handsome jack being in the microchip and there's nothing there except the people think it's peaceful). Personally if this is it, I think this is horrible. I always assumed I'd just wake up as a baby not knowing my past lives and the cycle goes on.

Aside from my beliefs, I think you'll not feel it when you die just like how you don't feel when you fall asleep, so if it turns out that there's no afterlife, no one would really know about it, but if there is, I think you'll just wake up like how you wake up from a sleep or comma and then prepare to deal with what comes next.
A crazy theory I once had is that your soul gets reborn into another body after you die, but you won't remember anything at all about your previous life, and to me, it doesn't really sound so exaggerated. Let me know if anybody thinks the same!

Dafuq? How do you know what people experience in their death, let alone expressing what they saw.
Peace happens.
Same thing that happened before you were born. Not blackness, literally nothing. Blackness implies there's some consciousness to see it with. I don't think complete non-existence something a living, breathing human mind is able to comprehend. It hurts my brain thinking about it, but I believe it.
Nothing.
Sucks, but it's inevitable. Enjoy your life while you have it.
I believe you rather go to Heaven or Hell.
Do you get to pick?
You lose consciousness and never regain it. Your brain cells die and you cease to exist.
I'm partly at peace with that fact and partly scared shitless by it.
I simply can't imagine nothing. It's an impossible thought.
I'm a fair believer in reincarnation, but also in ghosts. So honestly? No clue.
I welcome Hell, there I can meet up with all my Heroes.
You respawn.
I do not know. I often ask myself how the phenomenon of a person experiencing conciousness can even happen if there really nothing after death. The idea of a person experiencing consciousness being just an effect of an elaborate cause (our neurological pathways) just does not sit right with me. If that were so, would we not be tantemount to zombies: just shambling through existance, with no perception of anything, not even ourselves?
I just try to remain agnostic about this. If there is something, huzzah. If there is not, I will not be around to care.
Get a funeral, and get burned to ashes (if requested)
This thread is going to attract atheists like a fire to a moth...
Either you get reincarnated or your consciousness cease existing, I prefer the former.
We ascend to the realm of forms.
You rang?
You respawn but this time you will be "hopless" and unable to make those life defying jumps.
Jesse Cox comes to meet you, while riding the Space Butterfly, naked.
Who knows, maybe afterlife is what we want it to be? Lol. I have no idea.
Trying to think too much something I can't comprehend makes my head hurt.
What?
Nothing happens. There is no afterlife. Hell and heaven are myths, just like every religion. It's not that bad. You don't feel pain anymore, don't have to worry, watching people cry at your funeral. Nothingness is a blessing.
Why would it be any different than before you were born? Do you remember anything before that? No. Will there be anything after death? No. Think of it as a dreamless sleep, just one that lasts forever. I know it sucks, but if it helps, you'll never know that there is no afterlife because your conscious will be gone already. Therefore you won't even feel disappointment. So by all means, keep believing.
Simply put no one knows. People may think they know, say it like it's a fact, but in reality no one knows. We're all on the same level when it comes to the afterlife.
Personally for me, I'd rather there be an afterlife. Why? Because what's the point of even being alive if you're just going to wither away from physical existence anyway? What's the point in living if you die, have your life recycled into a new one and have any memory you're fond of stripped away from you? If that was the case I feel like I should've never existed in the first place.
There's no point in living if you have nothing to look forward to after death with your own life, achievements and loved ones are stripped away from you forever. I'd rather not bend over and get fucked by fate, thank you.
You die, There's nothing. As shit as it sounds, thats it's. Blackness.
Or you end up getting killed again by Rick Grimes once you come back.
Bet there'll be no chill in this thread in the next few days.
Sounds like you're talking from experience, how many of your nine lives are left?
Once I die, I'll make sure to let you know.
you lost me there, fam
I am not here to argue buuuut
Maybe because we have memories and we have been alive now and we surely were not alive before our birth. So it is tehnically different.
We don't have anything to remember. We don't even remember our birth but that doesn't mean we have never been born.
Well that isn't absolute, like almost everything after death. . . Too bad we'll all have to experience, or rather not, alone.
I do believe there's something after death, but just that maybe it's not what we could ever really make sense of or is beyond what could imagine it to be. It's like when you have all these theories out there on how the universe was made, yet there's so much we don't understand, and that we probably won't ever understand.
Of course, for it is up to you to allow the Lord into your life.
But wouldn't blackness be something though?
touché
Ehh, well, I mean, hell sounds like a nice place.
It depends... what does hell have to offer?
"The lakes of fire", sounds like an exotic name for a large hot tub area.
When people die, after that, they can like, fly around but we cannot see them, nor they can talk to us. This is showed in Beyond Two Souls, in the Beyond Ending. That's just my thought
A hot tub area?
