LucasArts did right with their recent SCUMM releases only because they had somebody else's (Aaron Giles) work lying around, unused for years. He ported all those games about 6-7 years ago in the hopes that Lucas would re-release those games, and it's just now that they got around to doing it.

DOSbox is fine. It's a great piece of software. Unfortunately, the compilation is still put together lazily. It's poorly configured and uses inferior sound, and the config utils are removed to keep you from changing it. You can tweak these settings if you know what you're doing or have the old config exe files, but you really shouldn't have to, you know?

I don't bother using the quest games compilation launcher (why would I want to play a 320x200 sized game full screen on a monitor with the resolution if 1440x900????). Instead I do it manually through DOSBox, with a few .bat files to make it quicker.

Boxer (which is mac only) is the best! It's like DOSBOX, but you just click on a program and it installs it for you. The games work great!

Also, on steam, Kings Quest seems to take up more space than Morrowind. Huh?

Yeah, bring on Phantasmagoria :) I need to replay this one, never did as it came out.

Haven´t bothered with Sierras Kings Quest/Space Quest Series yet, due to lack of time. But i would like to have a nice ported over version, instead of the Dosbox Thing. Do those Steam Releases at least work without too much hassle?
It's pleasant to see so many people who share the interest in Sierra games, other than the XXXXX Quests and LSL. In fact, Sierra is really more defining in the adventure gaming industry than LA, that covers and tested with lots of genres.

I really hope that these other not so famous Sierra games will get their rightful re-releases (or remakes) so that a new generation of players will get the chance to one of the more successful adventure franchise in the past.

Signed. Those old Sierra Adventures have been a lot more experimental as the LA Ones. I love em both, i just havent played that much Sierra Games in the past. It´s really time to re-release them.
