Um, looking at my specs, I don't seem to have a Parrots ANYTHING on here. Telltale has always had fairly low specs, why would they put in something my mid-range graphics card can't handle?
I don't know if I agree on your reading of the MI world. I love that it's very piratey, but that it's also ambiguous about what's really going on and how genuine it all is. Are the people all just play-acting (as indicated by the insult swordfighting pirate who breaks character for a moment)? Is it actually Guybrush's imagination (as indicated by the end of Monkey 2, and some things the voodoo lady says in Monkey 1)? Is it just a slightly surreal comedy world (as indicated by everything ever)? In the first game there are grog vending machines, breath mints, guys in troll costumes, cannibals with huge electronic bank vault doors, captain crunch cereal, bottles of root beer, government signage from historical societies, etc, etc. That odd anachronistic ambiguity is an amazingly compelling part of the universe for me.
Then we seem to have different tastes here as i prefer a pirate world were things are more in sync. Stan, the grog vending machine, things like that more drag me out of the world.
I understand how it's meant and works after a put something familiar into an unfamiliar situation comedy but i just don't like it this much. For instance the sword fighting insults or even the monkey steering in TOMI, both fit much better into a moody and funny pirate world, which at least i enjoy. I think especially the first part of Pirates of the Caribbean was very well done in this aspect.

I think you may be playing the wrong games then.. Monkey Island has always been this way and should stay that way!

There are parts in Monkey Island which i enjoy a lot but there are also parts in it which i don't like this much. What counts is the overall impression but i guess i never made a secret out of the fact that, whilst Monkey Island is a great game, its not the perfect adventure for me.

Brilliant
Totohless Gibbon, I love you!
"With Parrots" is comedy gold. It's gold, Jerry! Gold!
Indeed, it's akin to the responses when clicking the 3D acceleration option in Curse. I say Telltale should snap that idea up right now!
It's pinning for the fjords.

Btw did you receive my PM?

This parrot wouldn't voom if you put four million volts through it!
Regardless of a more pirate-y feel, I'm psyched about Episode 2, mostly because of the cliffhanger.
nice
