So disgusting and disrespectful of their fellow athletes. I read a few articles about what was specifically in those emails and it is just degrading: they talked about how many STDs this one girl must have, described the women in terms of sex positions, just about every nasty thing you could think about women who have worked just as hard to get into the sport and the school as these """"men"""" have. Along with the Trump audio leaked a few weeks ago, I hope that we are teaching boys that """locker room talk""" is not acceptable whatsoever. No woman should have to learn that some guys she considered her friends and allies were utterly disrespecting her behind her back.
It might be a tad immature but this seems like a massive exaggeration. Maybe I'm misinterpreting things but guys talking about how attractive a woman is isn't 'sexism'
People do it all the time, male or female, gay or straight, people like to talk about how attractive a person is, it seems harmless if it's kept private.
This is really getting retarded now. They rated women and made other sexual comments. So what? People are giant pussies these days. The people who keep getting offended by everyone and everything seriously need to get laughed at, instead of listened to.
I agree with you to a point, but they weren't hurting anybody yes they were being a bit perverted but they din't cause any actual harm to the female players. the school overreacted . people are way to fucking senstive now a days smh.
That's just terrible, how dare them judge the poor girls by their appearance instead of what they have inside, I mean, their juicy hearts, lungs, etc.
Those things can be sold like hot bread nowadays.

What the team did is childish without a doubt, and I'm glad to say I don't hang out with people who do stuff like this. But the players were not directing this behavior at the female athletes they were talking about, and kept their behavior to themselves. Therefore, I believe cancelling the entire men's season is overkill. Being an immature dickhead with your friends/teammates in private shouldn't mean getting punished by an institution. Now if the men's team had repeatedly directed these comments at female athletes despite warnings to stop, then cancelling the season would make sense. But they didn't make these comments directly toward female athletes. Since this was a private joke that wasn't meant to be revealed publicly, cancelling the entire season seems like a massive overreaction.

Soon, we'll have a new generation of men demonizing and degrading women cause of the rising tensions of a vague group of threatening "SJW's" constantly capping their self-machoism in an attempt to control what they feel is their manhood.
And we'll have women spitting and systematically playing the victim cause of a couple horny dumbasses cat-calling them, hurting their shitty over-privileged feelings.
Ok, let me ask you this: Did they do anything to harm anyone? No, they didn't. They didn't make plans to rape those women or boasted about already having done so. Locker room talk is the most normal thing in high school and yes, in college as well. Men aren't the only ones who do it, don't even start with that crap. They are also not the only ones who rate their preferred gender (and with that I mean male and female, not some Tumblrina bullshit) on a scale of 1-10. Anyone who has not said or at least thought stuff like this must be an asexual, a very committed one at that. And about the argument that they are at Harvard: Do they vasectomize/sterilize you before you go there? If not, then they are still (fe)males with (fe)male needs.
Well, you don't know what they exactly say so it's hard to judge.
"rating them numerically"
As long as you keep your "ratings" in privacy sphere it's basic stuff, it won't harm anyone. Rating them on the team's google group is not the smartest thing to do, moreover for a so called "élite".
Anyway cancelled or not you americans will still suck at football

You'd be surprised how much that happens regardless of gender and reason. I'd take a wild estimate just from my experience, that 1/4 to 1/3 of people I've encountered, and know talk negatively, and at times vulgar like about someone else they know behind their backs. Then it becomes cancerous, as it spreads from one person to the next. Most of the time it's often not serious, often caused by some bit of frustration with said individual, or meant to be sarcastic or funny.

I don't see what's wrong with what they did. Who doesn't rate people? Thinking people are attractive is not a punishable offence. This is dumb as hell.

Good.
Bunch of idiots.

The morning after a night with Shamerida.

It's all bullshit.
Sounds like standard fare for the entitled brats at Harvard.
