2.The Godfather:An Amazing film every actor in it is amazing al pacino and marlon brando are incredible
3.The Shawshank Redemption:Fantastic movie! Well acted, well plotted, well filmed. Such a beauty to watch over and over.
4.Casablanca:Probably the greatest love story to ever hit the screen.
5.Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back:It was tough to choose, but in the end...

    1. Lawrence of Arabia - Methodical, mythical, and gorgeous.
    2. The Third Man - Carol Reed and Orson Welles at their most brilliant.
    3. Singin' in the Rain - Everything is just perfect.
    4. The Godfather Part II - Drama and violence at its most operatic.
    5. Das Boot - Best film of WWII, and may be the best anti-war film ever.

The first four never move. Depending on my mood, Duck Soup occasionally edges in at number five.

Good topic, but I can't help but think the whole thing is just an excuse to point to the linked DVD store. Cynical me.

All movies mentioned so far are great. I couldn't narrow it down to five, personally. I've just seen too many movies, I guess. :-)

I won't even attempt to figure out a top-5 list.

Here's 5 incredibly good movies though:

    The Reader
    Shawshank Redemption
    Braveheart
    Die Hard
    Platoon

A pretty random list there, I could probably easily list ten times as many movies for a top list and still have more to spare.
