Telltale has done a poor job of communicating to us fans. If they need more time, that is fine but put something on then website that speaks to the progress, how things are shaping and even a ballpark timeline maybe. Even if they said end of August, its better than nothing at all.
They DO do all that, have you even read these forums, they state there progress usually whenever someone asks. Next time read the forums before you say that.
Arrgh, I can't believe an old game series like Monkey Island, where a big role in it's success lies in it's lighthearted content, humor and politeness, can be so full of "fans" that is just a bunch of badmouthed, ungrateful, demanding, impatient, ill tempered, illogical, irritable, out of this world, spoiled little children.
Now I am not talking about those who criticise the game. People who can make constructive criticism are awesome people.
If the game doesn't come out in august, like it's scheduled, then you have the right to complain.

What? They communicate FAAARRRR better than the vast majority of developers. They said at "appoximate monthly intevals" FFS! It hasn't even been a month yet!
What the point in telling us a date before they know it? And then what happens if there is a hold up? They miss it and people like you go nuts.
The difference between digitally distributed episodic releases and the more traditional process of releases games is that they can be working on it right until release. So if its not quite finished they may not know exactly how long it will take.
It will be in the next couple of weeks but if it makes you feel better, pretend they said end of August then you'll get a nice surprise.
It's a bit unrealistic to expect Telltale to inform us about every step of development. If they were running seriously behind schedule I could understand people's arguments, but seriously folks, we're still 2 days SHY of a month since episode 1. Us fans waited ten years for a new Monkey Island game that we were sure would never come, we got it, and we're getting more soon. Life is good.
anyone who says that the developers of telltale are not talking with us enough, fights like a cow. hah, i mean really what would you rather have a finished game, or a unfinished game because a developer.. was chatting all day or a finished game because a developer was developing. seriously?......
Do any of you now what it is going on with the second delivery of The Tales of Monaky island ???? This it is being the worst thing i ever bught in internet, even the game is good. But this company it is so bad taking care of his costumers !!! They dont even say a thing about when the 2nd chapter it is going to be out this month !!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IT WILL BE REALLY USEFUL THANKS A LOT GUYS...
Oh my, aren't we the attention seeking forum visitor... Just have some patience do you want a game fast and full of bugs or do you want a good game that works. If you tried to look it up on the forums it has been said a few times that the Probable ETA of the game is 9th of August... (thats probable ETA Telltale will lets us know as soon as they got a Release Date)
Edit*: Technically they promise a release every month so as long as they release it before 31st of August they don't break their word.
I think you should all just forget about defending monkey island. TT should take all the time they need to make us, yet again, a great game in the Monkey Island series!
Go back and see the start of this thread.....Rauly is asking about The Tales of Monaky Island so MI fans....don´t get all in an uproar (though this might be a very interesting game as well)

LOLOL!! Indeed he is!
I expect they start Tales of Monaky Island with the line: "Deep in the Carborian"! I can't wait to see what happens to Euline and Guyborsh as they try to defeat LeCatch once more! I wonder if we'll see Tmemy the Monaky again?
Please, Teltlalle, don't keep us in susepnse!
Might have taken that too far.
I've been watching for it as have we all, but I have to admit I didn't expect to find information here that wasn't e-mailed to me first. I just had to come look anyway... Fact is, I'm just glad someone cracked before I did.
I really hope its soon....it's soon isn't it...tell me it's soon...*hops expectantly from foot to foot*
Hell I've waited 9 years for the flaming thing so I don't know about anybody else but I'm happy to draw the suspense out to knicker-wetting proportions.
.....I now have MI theme as moby ringtone just to fully cement my geek-queen status. Unfortunate thing is nobody else in my office has the slightest idea what I'm rabbiting on about *sigh*

I wish I could say that I don't, on some level, feel the same as OP. I loved the first chapter and with a job as infuriating as mine is (was, now that I am unemployed as of a couple of days ago) I find myself waiting on tinter hooks for even the smallest bits of exuberance brought by dinner with friends once a week, or new eps, or even my netflix being in my mail box. Perhaps OP wasn't particularly eloquent about his point, but I agree that any morsel of info about the new chapters between release dates is never too small to post here. I don't even really care if you lie about release dates or give crazy ranges like "9th-31st," just to give me something to set my mental schedule to. Shocking as it may be, people latch on to things stronger than you may ever think that they could/should, but it is true.
If you guys are overworked as it is, and don't have time to put together press releases, that's cool, too...I happen to know a certain forum lurker who is looking for a new job
In any case, I am very grateful to you guys for bringing back many of my favorite childhood franchises.
Cheers!
Come on, complaining about not releasing episode 2 yet? Not even a whole month has passed since episode 1 was released!
That's the thing though, he's not complaining that episode 2 isn't out, but that there's been no announcement of a release date, any screenshots, trailers, concept art (barring the two pieces on Gamespot), or even a vague plot synopsis.
I'm not getting mythered myself over it, but there's a lot of insults being thrown his way which aren't really deserved.
(and technically it has been out for a month, if we use the definition of a month as 28 days )
1) I am one of those who have a life and still would like the game as soon as possible. That's because I am going out on vacation soon and I'd like to play the game before that. I also think we should wait 30-31 days before feeling with the right to complain.
2) In case there's a delay, I am quite sure there would be two good explanations. First one, server capacity was exceeded last month. They may want to get ready for this. Second, W&G has been just released and it would be economically less profitable to take the big W&G announcement from the front page.
In fact, when I saw Wallace And Gromit's Bogey Man episode there at telltales.com I understood it would take at least a week to replace it. Two weeks would be more likely.

He's just frustrated at the lack of information being released. I understand that, but he should remember that he's complaining to a company that have brought back this series to life after 8 years and are working very hard. He's just a frustrated guy, not an idiot from what I can see.

I am the one that worte this, and actually i do have a life, a really good one, wife and kids...i just wanted to know....cuase the company said month delivery, but never when...and i paid for something , so i just want it in the time they say...it just pist me off to don't have information about it...that all ...
Lol, your comments were good and many of them really funny.
SOME OF U SHOULD NOT SPEAK WITHOUT KNOWING SOME FACTS...like i am an idiot, like i should get a life, that Tale Tales it is taking time making t goo, bla bla bla, lol....

Well you have to put into consideration that people will only look at your posts to see what type of person you are. That's all they have to go on and why it can be very frustrating to talk to people on forums. I myself just gave a perspective based off your post. In the end I was wrong and I apologize for that. I just think that there are many unique factors with this particular episodic game that can make it excusable for Telltale to take their time with a release date.
They said monthly, so they have not come close at all to breaking their promise; 26 days left. They are polishing it for the fans and have also brought it back after nearly a decade, so what's wrong with just a few weeks wait? That's what annoyed a lot of people here.
Lol !!!

umm... in the future whenever you are in doubt you may want to simply ask or better yet perform your own resource, like utilizing the search feature on the forum. Performing this search would have answered your question, instead of your assumption that TT did not care or is a bad company.

Witch be a mighty stupid way of debating. Tackle the ball, not the player.
Who the what now the poster is, is of absolute no interest. The case he raises, on the other hand, is.
And the paradox be all the MI-lovers who'd spend time discussing a guy they don't even know, rather than discussing the release date of the game they love. Like calling this guy an idiot is more important than this game.
But on a pirate-forum, how can one demand civility?
i think what hes trying to say is, that, weve all already paid for these games, telltale have our money yet we still dont have our products, personally id like more information aswell, blank nothingness is taking the piss a little! i was annoyed i couldnt buy them individually infact, very annoyed, but i shelled out on a series i was yet to play anyway!
so yeah telltale, weve paid up, youve got our money, and personally i feel like were being left in the dark, which we are, a little info such as a date or atleast a Episode 2 is coming along nicely, atleast sam and max and strongbad had trailers and news posts
As I see it the longer we wait the better quality and bug free the next episode will be. I can however understand the anticipation and lack of patience. I can't wait for it myself. I've played so many of these games recently I find myself picking up common objects and trying to use them with everything around me.

Episode 2 is coming along nicely. (in all reality, I have no idea.)
Think of it like a magazine subscription. You pay for a year's worth of magazines but you don't get all right off the bat. Also, they have a release "schedule" but if you get them mailed to your house that can very by 3 to 5 days. So, we know episode 2 is coming in "August" and we know we're going to get 5 episodes. There's no need to worry about it in the meantime. When we gave TellTale our money, they more or less signed a contract with us to give us 5 episodes. Which they will. And I look forward to them.
Oh, and to those on the eastern hemisphere: It's August 20th in PST, or GMT-8:00, and in terms of Telltale, that's the only time zone that matters. I know it sucks that you're a day ahead, but that's the price for living in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Yay!
Indeed, and I believe this thread has now reached new potential to release the sequel; "Highlight reel II: Revenge of the Highlights"
Oblivion?? I bucked that addiction years ago!
