SMI - Chapter 1 the three trials
    MI2 - Chapter 2 four map pieces
CMI - Chapter 3 Kiss of the sider monkey
EMI - don't really know, played it once, can't remember actaully

so, no, stan doesn't always show up until 3/4 of the game.

Had a rather amusing thought as I was drifting off to sleep last night which I thought I'd share - if the titular "Trial" of Chapter 4 is indeed a court-of-law deal, Guybrush is going to need some defense - and who better to play the part of a fast-talking slightly shifty attorney than our beloved Stan? The possibilities for hilarity are endless. Needless to say, I can't see the trial going well for Guybrush if this is the case - but then again, the chapter is called "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood"...

Again (not my idea), Stan's Previously Rendered Justice?

like the idea of stan saying to the judge in with shakky hands "u know u want it .. i know u want it .. u know that i know u want it .. so will that be a hundred pieces of eight for the new custom prison cell with titanium bars?"

stan, along with murray, just plain rocked in the other monkey games. Stan flapping his hands around while wearing that plaid shirt never gets old! Loved how you nail him in a coffin in monkey2 and then years later when monkey3 came out you get to release him from the coffin and starts to sell life insurance!

I liked the idea of having stan be a shifty lawyer type who defends guybrush. maybe after guybrush is executed they stuff him in one of stan's previously used coffins?

Actually, I think Stan while being a defense lawyer for Guybrush, he should also be a witness for the Prosecution. I'd just love to see how the cross examination would go. (Maybe Telltale could even bring back Stan's mysterious teleportation powers he had in the Secret of Monkey Island.)

Well, ur right about 1 and 2, but in Curse he showed up in part 4-the bartender, the thieves, his aunt and her lover. In Escape he was on act 2- enter the manatee. That would actually make a lot of sense if he was in chapter 3 then.

I think that he fits the most in the setting chapter 4 seems to feature; either as a quick-talking attorney, or in a newly opened stand on the streets of Flotsam.
