I don't actually pay attention to band names, I just listen to songs on the radio, but, from what I can scrape up from some of my favourite songs, my list looks a little something like this...
1. TMBG
2. All-American Rejects
3. The Black-Eyed Peas
And that's it. I don't know the names of other songs.
I realize that this goes totally against the trend here, but here's my list, in alphabetical order (and with 12 entries, I just couldn't decide who to leave out):
Aretha Franklin
Beatles
Counting Crows
The Delgados
Elvis Presley
Everlast
Genesis
Jamiroquai
Kate Nash
Manau
The Prodigy
Utada Hikaru
1) Mike Oldfield
2) Delirious?
3) Jean Michel Jarre
4) Tangerine Dream
5) U2
I think. That's not counting film composers either. Some of my favourites in that category include Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Don Davis, James Horner, Howard Shore, and Alan Silvestri to name a few.
And then there's video/PC game composers like Mark Seibert (Sierra), Michael Land (LA), Ken Allen (Sierra), Chris Brayman (Sierra), Rob Atesalp (Sierra), Aubrey Hodges (Sierra), Clint Bajakien (LA), Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda, et al), Hip Tanaka (Metroid and Pokemon), Tom & Dianne Lewandowski (AGDI/Himalaya Studios) and Robyn Miller (Myst).
