Thanks for that, but strangely enough I only have the free copy of Sam n Max that I got with MonkeyIs (which I can download) and a mention of an Taleofmonkey invoice as well as an invoice for the sam n max ep.
I've downloaded ScummVM but when I try to play MI2, it comes up with a copy protection "recipe". Nowhere in my manual does it have any of these recipes, is there anything I can do?
As far as I remember ScummVM accepts any Numbers you fill in the gaps..
Ah, that's great. Wasn't sure if the game cut out after so long if you got the wrong code but if it works all the way through with any code that's perfect. Thanks!

You should have got it legally
In the game box is a recipe wheel...
if you don't have that, search google for a code generator.
edit: but ScummVM ignores the code as above was mentioned
Oh and is there a way to integrate the sound for MI1? It says it can't play the sound without ripping the tracks from the CD but I don't know which file to put them in so that ScummVM recognises them. Sorry for all the questions.
In later releases, the recipe wheel DRM was dropped.
Because of this, ScummVM also dropped it. For nostalgia reasons, the recipe questions is still displayed in ScummVM, but you can enter anything you want. It won't check your input.
the installer comes with said launcher and ScummVM runs like a charm on a 64bit OS
(run Win7 64bit myself)
I agree, ScummVM is a beautiful piece of kit for those of us with 64-bit Windows (and those that don't use Windows on the machine they want to play old PC adventure games on).
What really bugs me is that running CMI directly from Comi.exe, running it from either of the launcher options and running it in ScummVM all save the games to different places. What's more, ScummVM saves in a different format and isn't compatible with original gamesaves.
Other than that, the only bug I've found is with Comi.exe (although it might occur with the others too but I haven't tested them much): it acts like a stuck record whenever you would otherwise have a flashing app on the taskbar.

I have a 32-bit Windows, but can't play 90% of old games without my Scumm, cause this Windows is Vista....terrible, even my TMI has to be run on lowest graphics (although don't seem to see any difference)

Not in my case - I got a CD version of the first two games, both on the same disc. Two big things that were missing from it: The recipe wheel DRM from LCR (So never understood what people were talking about with it) and the stump joke from SOMI (Apparently LucasArts cut it from later versions, like the one I had with icons rather than words in inventory, due to genuine complaints about missing discs)
In fact, the option to change difficulty on the second game was missing too (defaulted to, I assume, the harder one)
Although playing that same version through recently through SCUMMVM brought back the (neutered) copy protection wheel prompt and the difficulty option to LCR - so they must have simply put code into the original EXE's on the disc to bypass this (scummvm doesn't use those). Nothing back in SOMI, but I don't mind so much as I still got the CD-quality music! (After ripping it to mp3's with media player, at least!)

They haven't released episode two yet. They will within the next 24 hours minutes.
Here. The download is Free, but Only for registered members.
Hey, this certainly is illegal! And I don't think TellTale could appreciate having links to stolen LucasArts games on their own forum. Have some respect for these people!!!

I think I bought the same version as you - the "white label" double-pack. I couldn't remember the copy protection coming up before when I played but that would have been many years ago and I may have just forgotten. In any case, the actual recipe wheel isn't in my box and I've always kept everything inside the box so I know nothing would have been misplaced. I wonder if there are any scans of the recipe wheel out there though, just for curiosity's sake. A search came up with nothing.

There's something funny with that version, play it from CD with ScummVM -> no protection or difficulty check.
Copy it to HDD -> Protection and Difficulty Check.
burn to another CD by itself -> no protection or difficulty check.

wonder how they did this...
ScummVM even recognizes the version as CD version
I play it off the cd and the hdd and i always get the protection/difficulty. Weird.

I did get it legally.. I ripped it from the CD. There's no recipe wheel though. But if the code isn't needed for ScummVM that's ok.

ANyone !?
You should have had an email about an hour ago if you bought directly from Telltale (well, I did, anyway).
