Sick and tired of Telltale trying to sell me a blank disc.

  • Jesus christ how about you actually argue your point instead of playing victim.

Who's playing victim? I'm calling him out on his self entitled condescending attitude. No ones playing anything and I have no respect for anyone who looks down on people which is what he's been doing on this whole thread.

  • Where I live it takes most people 3-4 hours to download a 10GB game, as faster broadband is still being added :x

To be honest, I agree, if people want to play the first episode alone, I'm sure they'd buy and download it off the store, I don't think many people expect or want to download x 1/5 of the content they're buying, four different times/periodically as that pretty much makes the disc pointless in a sense (bar the first episode).

  • Yes, you being a jerk is "how it is".

It's not a question of having a thin skin. It's you shoving your opinion down other people's throats.

How is that being a jerk? It's just how it is. Why does everyone have such a thin skin in 2017, it's annoying as fuq. Really.

  • Calling people paranoid is a personal attack.

Telling people they live in slums is a personal attack.

  • Why does it seem that everyone here takes everything personal?

Because you're making it personal. You haven't listed any pros and cons. Just insulted people.

And that's the typical response from people who like digital. They have to resort to insults because there are no concrete benefits to going digital.

Well I own PlayStation consoles and Sony's servers have a bad habit of being hacked every so often without the company realizing beforehand. It's a little difficult not to be a little cautious.

  • There are solid business reasons why Telltale does what it does, but I agree that "Season Pass" discs sold at retail should be noticeably labeled and indicate that substantial downloads will be needed to complete the game. And it would be nice if they made a full-series physical copy at the end, even better with bonus material on it.

Learn to be less oblivious of your condescending attitude and you'll get somewhere and be taken more seriously.

  • It's not hard to read when your insults are so blatantly obvious, troll.

  • Would be nice if someone from TT would acknowledge and address this topic.

But I have a feeling they won't and would prefer to stick to shady business practices.

Unless you have to make room more stuff in your console's hard drive, and you eventually can't redownload it, because it either got pulled from PSN store or XBL, or the online services for the console were shut down.

Oh and don't forget about hard drive corruption, or the console bricking too. Have fun downloading a 60GB game. Not to mention not being able to sell digital games or Sony's policy on refunds (I believe MS' is changing)

  • One scratch and the disk is useless.

Right because hard drives/computers never fail. This is also untrue. Discs are not that fragile.

Download is not always cheaper than disc. There's plenty of sales and used games that are cheaper.

Not being able to sell it is NOT an advantage. It means you don't own it. Digital is flat out anti consumer.

  • When the hard drive is gone, you don't need to buy the game again. Simply re-download it.

Why even buy a game when you don't plan to keep it? Then you can just go to the video rental store and borrow a game.

  • Even messaged TT on twitter and they still won't address it.

Talk about not giving a damn about your customers.........

  • you still get the game regardless. the disc comes with the content, so they're literally not ripping you off in any conceivable way. calm yourself my son, you're getting really personally offended over nothing.

  • the people at telltale run an actual company while you live at home and have an uneventful day like literally every other person on this entire website, they probably aren't responding because they have shit to do and don't have time to read every single post on the forums and address complaints. that's what the mods are for and we should be thankful we even have them here, without them it'd be chaos. just calm down man, this isn't a personal attack from telltale, it's just the way they distribute their games. there's nothing shady about it in the slightest.

  • If they're giving me a game on the disc, it should be on the bloody disc.

Not setting me up to download it. What is so hard to comprehend about this?

Stop kissing the butts of Telltale and see this from the consumer's pov.

There should be somebody who will deal with consumers. That's just good business.

Not responding simply shows that TT don't care about what their customers think.

And yeah, selling a disc and not telling people you have to download some of the game IS shady.

  • THE SEASON PASS IS LITERALLY AVAILABLE BECAUSE OF THE CONTENTS OF THE DISC, ARE YOU MENTAL???

IT'S NOT THE SAME AS BEING ON A DISC. THE WHOLE POINT OF BUYING A DISC IS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT.
    ARE YOU RETARDED?

what's so hard to comprehend that you're literally getting the fucking game you're paying for,

Except I'm paying to get it on the disc, so I don't have to download it. Which I'm not getting. So no, I'm not getting what I pay for.

are... are you six? you sound six. you actually sound six. not to mention i constantly criticize telltale for like everything. i'm not sucking up to anyone, i am calling out stupidity.

What you are, is a troll.

    i am a fucking consumer.

Then why are you taking the anti-consumer position?

  • And you're being a suck up and dick.

Literally saying any criticism of the company is wrong. Do you work for TT? Is this your company's attitude towards your customers?

  • you still get the game regardless. the disc comes with the content,

No. This is empirically incorrect. The disc does not come with the content. If it did, I wouldn't have to download it.

The disc is blank. That's the essence of my complaint. Can you read?

I needed to remove some comments from this thread, please could everyone try and discuss this without causing any more arguments as it seems pretty pointless to argue over something like this.

  • Personally, I enjoy having discs a bit more than digital copies as it's a permanent copy and you don't have to worry about possibly losing it in the odd chance your online account gets fucked with. Logically, a disc is normally containing basically the full base game. At least, that's what it used to be. I would've preferred if Telltale waited out on making the disc myself until the whole thing is over like before but well...

Steam accounts can be properly protected with Steam Guard. It's optional service that ensures you're the one who logs in to account. Unless you get your E-Mail address also compromised, your stuff should be very safe.

Also physical media is far more likely to be destroyed than your account. Unless you take measures like putting them to fireproof box or something.
